    How do you feel about going out to eat during or right after a short flare up? Considering restaurants and stuff use vegetable oils and sometimes it’s a lot even for someone without Crohns. Do you focus on home cooked meals?

    • @_TheHealingQueen_
      @_TheHealingQueen_ 3 месяца назад

      I do focus on home cooked meals around a flare just to get back on my feet. Unless it is a restaurant that lists their ingredients and I can see what theyre using and find something that doesn’t use inflammatory oils/problem foods.

    • @KatM272
      @KatM272 3 месяца назад

      @@_TheHealingQueen_ thanks for the response. I imagined this would be the more sensible option. My boyfriend struggles with home cooked meals and finds himself eating out even after a flare up which seems like a recipe for disaster. He’s also been drinking energy drinks which I’ve heard some people say the completely avoid caffeine. It’s been difficult to watch because it seems like he hasn’t hacked what doesn’t work for him, and then says feeling bad isn’t bc of the food; which I can understand that but in some cases I don’t imagine it helps the situation. I’m trying to see how I can be of help. I just imagine that it’s very common for people with crohns to just not do restaurants. Also have probiotics ever helped you or anyone else touch might know with Crohns / IBS etc?

    • @_TheHealingQueen_
      @_TheHealingQueen_ 3 месяца назад

      @@KatM272 I highly recommend eating home-cooked organic whole foods, this will set you up for success in the future and help you avoid flares all together. I occasionally eat out for special occasions or if I’m in a bind - but I don’t make it a habit. Yes, healing Crohn’s is more than diet (it includes managing stress, nervous system regulation, healthy mindset, etc.). However, diet absolutely impacts the digestive system and can worsen or improve your symptoms. I try to get probiotics from food such as sauerkraut, organic cottage cheese and yogurt. However, as a supplement, I love Athletic Greens. I think at this point encouraging healthy habits such as making more home-cooked meals is a great place to start. I don’t drink energy drinks and I don’t recommend them, but I do drink caffeine (only coffee and tea). Thank you so much for your support!!

      Before I was initially diagnosed I had swelling/inflammation in my throat and did lose my voice a little bit. And then during my first flare up I had a couple sores in my mouth. I found that deep breathing techniques helped with the swelling/inflammation in my throat (like belly breaths or breath work practices). I also find probiotics to be super helpful at strengthening my immune system/reducing these symptoms. . . I really like Athletic Greens, or Smart by Dr Tara Swart.

    Good lord, sounds what I’m going through right now. Initially my hand swelling was so bad they thought it was rheumatoid arthritis. Now I’m diagnosed with RA. As I do have RA family history. Question I have, did you have to go the bathroom pretty much as soon as you eat anything. I ate dinner last night, no joke had to go to the bathroom right away……and I’m still suffering the next day. Asked my rheumatologist she said “sounds like a GI problem. Talk you your family doctor. “ I see my family doctor tomorrow but I know I’ll have to go through tests…..same as you lost 20 pounds and I’m not big to begin with.

    Lol Trunchbull Talk 😂 love it! I love turmeric! Even as someone w/o an auto-immune disorder, it is very beneficial! One question tho, I’ve read that in order for the body to absorb turmeric, it needs to contain Piperin (black pepper)? I also take Solaray Liver Blend SP-13 just to support the filtering organs. And I take Krill Oil for healthy fats and there are some studies that show it helps reduce inflammation. Obviously you’ll do your own research, but these have really helped me. The biggest thing I notice is less inflammation in my joints since I’m constantly on my hands and knees at work. Definitely going to check out Cacao and the magnesium supplement!

      So true, and so much of our food is processed, it can be challenging to avoid it...even foods as simple as peanut butter can contain those monocultures 😞

    I would be interested to know how many women who work in horticulture or landscaping or farming have auto immune diseases. Because they’re probably constantly exposed to roundup, even if they’re not applying it themselves. Really got me thinking over here 😳

      Dude I totally freaking agree!!!! I think this is definitely something that needs to be studied...I would be shocked if there wasn't a correlation.

    This sounds so much like me. Lower left side pressure, cramps, sharp pains like glass. but i go back and forth between Constipation and diarrhoea. I feel like my lower left/colon is in a knot. I remember walking through a shopping mall a little bit after my symptoms started and it felt like a car had driven into the side of my knee and it needed to explode. Awful feeling. Mine started after a really awful breakup where I had to move back across the country (5 hours away), change job and start again.

      Ugh yes! The relationship between Crohn's, our joints, and stressful life events is very real and I never realized there was a relation. I'm so sorry you had to experience that... I 100% support and empathize with you. We will get through this together <3
