Amazing stuff! I’d love to know more about how you create the framework for the head. I’m trying to create a large scale dragonfly and wanted to use this technique for the head!
Jack, I use a jigsaw to cut out a silhouette of the shape with a piece of 1/4“ plywood and then mount a flat piece with a French cleat for the back. all the form is from the cardboard strips
Awesome, I’m definitely going to make a sculpture now. I haven’t had enough cardboard but we went to ikea and now I have a bunch! Super excited to start making mine!!! 🔥

Thanks! 4K + shipping, which varies. It is usually about $300 extra but I don’t know until I’ve got the final weight and measurements of crate. Montana is beautiful, made it up to Big Sky a few years ago, I’d like to go see GNP sometime.

Have you tried using epoxy clay? It’s really good it’s as hard as cement. It dries very smooth with no cracks.
Yes I have I used on some plaster onion masks I hade made. It’s cool stuff!

I really like the working apron, cant find anything like it.
It’s a waxed canvas. The important part is the shoulder straps that distribute the weight across your back instead of directly on your neck.

Yeh I think this technique would work well with that medium. I once went and spoke to a class of pastry chefs at the local college about this.

Yeh with rhinestone horns! I’m making a new rhino right now that is more southwest inspired and will have turquoise, silver and wood ornaments on the horns.
