The video incorrectly states that the assassination on the heir to the throne of Austria was the reason why the First World War broke out. But that is not correct, because the assassination could not have been a pretext for Austria to declare war on Serbia, because the Serbian government's involvement in the assassination was not at all proven in 1914 when the Austrians started the war together with Germany. It is a historical fact that ONLY the Germans and the Austrians were jointly responsible for this war. The reason for that war was not because the Bosnian Serb resistance fighters Gavrilo Princip assassinated the prospective coming dictatorial monarch Franz Ferdinand. Because this assassination wasn't enough for the Austrians as a reason for war. Because Serbia's involvement in the assassination was not proven in 1914. The Serbs also actually fulfilled almost the entire ultimatum of the Austrians, which was actually considered impossible to fulfill. That's why the German monarch Wilhelm II. himself determined that the Austrians actually had no reason for war against Serbia. That's why the Austrians looked for a reason. The message of an armed banter, which had been triggered by the shelling of Austrian troops against Serbian steamers near Temes Kubin on the Danube, was then the reason that was looking for. So the Srbs were accused of starting hostilities. The armed banter was then exaggerated into a battle and Interpreted as an actual opening of the fighting by Serbia and the alleged battle was expressly mentioned as a reason for war in the declaration of war by Austrian monarch Franz Joseph. At the latest on July 28 1914, and in any case before the declaration of war was sent, it was announced that this alleged battle was a hoax. Nevertheless, Austria attacked Serbia without reason for war and the Germans backed the Austrians. Which is why they are also responsible for this war. Because without this backing, Austria would not have dared to attack Serbia, which was allied with Russia. The Germans also wanted absolutely to find a reason for war! The aircraft of Nuremberg was then the reason that they looking for! The aircraft of Nuremberg refers to a media hoax in which one or several French aircraft allegedly dropped bombs near Nuremberg, Germany on August 2, 1914, only one day prior to Germany's declaration of war on France. The story seems to have suited the General Staff's agenda. On August 2 the Bavarian military plenipotentiary in Berlin reported to Munich: "Welcoming news of a bombing at Nuremberg by French aircraft has arrived from our III. Army Command. Without even waiting for a diplomatic act the Ministry of War and the General Staff now have declared France an enemy." By the way they even simply raided Belgium in 1914 without pretext! In summary explained! In summary explained! This is how you behave when you want war! You construct reasons for war. The Germans are particularly responsible because the Austrians would never have dared to attack Serbia, which is an ally of Russia, without German backing. The German assurance of support in the war against Serbia and Russia is called a "blank cheque" for the war. Because the Austrians were assured of support regardless of whether the war escalated into a war against Russia and thus also against France, which was allied with Russia. So they saw this chain reaction that would lead to a big war and the Germans still gave the Austrians this "blank cheque" to attack Serbia. This war against the French should be worthwhile for Germany anyway, because after a victory that they megalomaniacally expected, the Germans expected cessions of colonies from the defeated French, and they wanted large territories in Europe as booty from the Russians. The Austrians also wanted to gain territories because they actually wanted to annex a large part of the Balkans after a victory. So the Germans and Austrians started this war to gain territory. But they got exactly the opposite and lost territories. Well, bad luck!

The video of course doesn't mention the fact that the Austrian navy was completely useless. This navy was trapped in the ports in the Adriatic throughout the First World War because the Italians very successfully blocked the entire Austrian fleet in the so-called Otranto Barrage with fast MAS motor torpedo boats and prevented it from leaving the Adriatic. The Austrians then made a miserable attempt to break through the Otranto Barrage in June 1918. This attack was carried out by all four ships of the Tegetthoff class but was abandoned on the morning of 10 June after this ship were attacked by tiny, fast and very maneuverable Italian motor torpedo boats in which the Szent István was sunk with torpedoes. By the way, the Szent István is the only battleship whose sinking was filmed during World War I.

The Italian battleships were in the harbor throughout the First World War. The same was true in the Second World War. The Otranto Barrier consisted only of small ships with a dragnet on the stern. They were repeatedly attacked and had to retreat. Until English and heavy cruisers appeared and the Austrian ships retreated. Austrian submarines overcame this barrier into the Mediterranean without any problems.

@@romanhoffmann5540 You create your own imaginary reality with the comment like with the video. Yes, the Italian fleet had to stay in the ports for fear of the powerful Austrian fleet. But wait a minute. The Italians didn't have to be afraid of the Austrian fleet at all. Because the Austrian fleet has hidden in the ports for fear of Italian MAS motor torpedo boats. This fleet was not safe even the ports because the MAS motor torpedo boats also sank the Austrian ships in the harbors. Like, for example, at the raid on the night of 9-10 December 1917, while the coastal defense ships SMS Wien were at anchor in Trieste, two Italian MAS motor torpedo boats managed to penetrate the harbour defences undetected and fired several torpedoes at the ship. The ship was struck by two torpedoes and sank in less than five minutes. At the Otranto Barrier, the MAS motor torpedo boats were crucial and guarded it very successfully, which is why the Austrian fleet was completely blocked. As I described in my comment above, at the end of the war in 1918, the Austrian fleet once tried to break through the Otranto Barrier, whereby a battleship was sunk and the entire Austrian fleet fled into the harbors in panic from the Italian MAS motor torpedo boats. It was also difficult for the Austrians to surprise the Italians because the Italians monitored the Adriatic well from the air with reconnaissance aircraft. The MAS motor torpedo boats were also supported from the air by torpedo bombers. By the way, not a single MAS motor torpedo boat was damaged in the battle! Only one MAS motor torpedo boat was lost in the entire war. There were no British involved in this battle! The Italians didn't need the British to block the Austrian fleet. Furthermore, it is true that the Austrian submarines were able to overcome the Otranto Barrage. But this was also a very dangerous and massive fleet of 27 submarines. This very large number of Austrian submarines were of course a decisive factor in this war! :) Just as the Italians successfully blockaded the Adriatic, the British also successfully blockaded Constantinople with the Bosphorus Strait. The Entente controlled the Mediterranean and the Central Powers could only operate in the Mediterranean with submarines. The Allied navies were able to sail relatively freely throughout the Mediterranean by keeping the Central Powers' surface units bottled up in either the Adriatic or at Constantinople. This freedom of movement was tremendously important for the Allies, as they were not only able to keep open their supply routes to Egypt with the Suez Canal for example. ÜBRIGENS?
