This was about my 4th or 5th run on this day, but not my best run. I forgot to turn the camera off, a run later and my battery was dead when I finally got the bike figured out.

Up on the table after sitting for about 1 1/2 years. Time to get it ready for the 2023 riding season, after melting a piston from a clogged jet (rust from tank) Bodywork off so you can see what these really look like

Aprilia RS250 back on the road, Zeel ignition, TTW billet heads, pipes and suspension upgrades
Просмотров 497Год назад
Took the RS250 for a quick blast to verify everything is working good before it leaves the garage for good. Lost of work done on bike here, as well as back in the UK where it was from originally....runs/rides beautifully now...hate to see it go.
1984 Spec II stage 3 Yamaha RZ350 gets a new Zeel ignition and Dyna coils
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.2 года назад
Original ignition box gave out on me this year at a bike show…..so I decided it was time for some improvements on an old friend of mine. Zeel ignition and Dyna coils/wires added to the Spec II Stage 3 engine I put together back in 1986. Toomey pipes, bigger reed cages and carbs, Barnet clutch, Dymag wheels….and on and on. I have owned this bike since 1985

RGV250 SP VJ22FL walk around
Просмотров 2 тыс.2 года назад
A quick walk around my 1990 Japanese home market VJ22FL. A survivor example that has well earned patina, yet still rides like it was intended. Only changes from original are the GSXR calipers and the RF600 3.5 front wheel. All SP parts still in place.

Very nice 👍
Oh, good. Symmetrical layout for the exhaust. It looks better to me.
Hi is this UK or Jap spec? How much horsepower? 70 or 40?
Looks great fun !
That music destroy the video
Ho la sua stessa moto e devo montare la centralina Zeeltronic PCDI 24V. Mi può aiutare con i collegamenti visto che lei già l'ha fatto ? Grazie, Filippo
I used the Zeel wiring diagram to get everything connected. I used reproduction plug ends on the Zeel to match up with the original factory wiring harness plugs. It is critical that the powervalves are completely closed at the correct stopping point when adjusting the Zeel.
!!
Im over 60, and I t had been 25 years since the last time I had been to the dragstrip. I needed to start from somewhere just to get a feel for what I could do with the bike. As stated this was on my 4th run of the day, and slowly got a feel for better launches as the day went on.
That was a slow start
Why are you in AEM 2…? also you should turn off your AWC and your ATC..
Does the Spark come with the exhaust hanger? Spark or Akrapovic?
The Spark came with the hanger and some bolts to mount. It works beautifully with the Gabro tune / T800
Any regrets with Spark? I'm thinking this, or Spark Force, or the AKRA system@@wedgehorsepower9869
Nice hop up but I think putting the 500 square four engine in mine was the better option..However I'm still far from complete as the bikes unrideable beyond 200kph..more time needed in the man cave😆😆😆
I had just did a full rebuild of my RZV500R before I started on this RGV project. Initially I was going to get a RG500 motor out of Japan when I was importing my TZR250RSP in. But the RZV burned me out on 4 cylinder 2 strokes. And the complexity of welding new engine mounts in, making room for the kick start, and making sure I could get pipes built to fit whatever type of tail section I would need to build, caused me to take a slightly easier route with a TT/F3 version RGV. Less power perhaps than a 500 with equal tuning time, but also considerably lighter.
Now there's a motorcycle!!!
Crying out fur twin round headlights
Did you run a HealTech in the wiring after removal of the servo motor? Did you simply zip tie the wires together or reconnect them and then zip tie them?
No need for healtech. Using a T-800 with Gabro tune to reset computer to race, eliminates the need for numerous E5 parts. Unplugged the servo, and tied wire back into itself. Will be adding intake stacks soon and eliminate the charcoal canister as well.
I hate you soooo much, lol. but it's only because I'm jealous of your bike collection . I'm about 2% into a RZ 500 restoration, If it comes out half as good as yours I'll be stoked. Cheers 👍
Nice stable! 🐎 🏇
Nicht schlecht!
Nice work ,too nice to ride 👍
Thanks I put the better wheels, brakes, suspension on so it would be a better bike to ride. When the time comes, I will put the all the original parts back on when I’m too old to enjoy it, and sell.
I have Leo Vince exhaust sound is lound and HOT !
A work of art
se um ja da trabalho imagina 4 🤦♂🤦♂ o piloto tem que ser o proprio mecanico se nao ta ferrado
Making all 4 run together is work
Mine is similar. VHM heads, Wiseco pistons, Tyga left-right, Penske shock, TTW fork spring. Zeel is next. Do you have additional info on your build on the web anywhere? Would love to see the front end set up and hear about your Zeel config. (BTW, my temp gauge is just like yours - random)
The Zeel was wired in with plugs from TTW to avoid cutting into the factory wiring. I set the Zeel to the preprogrammed map #2 pump gas race map. And wired it in using the Zeel diagram so it went pretty easy as far as hooking it up. Had a few other non related issues with it as it had been set up by someone else previously, and had to redo a few things. I also installed Dyna 0.5 coils and Dyna plug wires as well. Forks were done by maxton in the UK along with a nitron shock.
@@wedgehorsepower9869 Thanks! Heard good things about Maxton but hoped you had a cheaper solution. :) TTW spring and slightly heavier oil will do for now. Look forward to trying the Zeel.
Que maravilha d+

wow hebat Aprillia saya suka mantap sekali 👍🏼😎
Wow, spetacular
I see that you removed the passenger pegs on the left side. Did you put a block off cover or just left it as is when removed? Can find any covers for mine
I had some plastic covers in with some other odds/ends my dealer gave me, along with my owners manual. I am thinking it is an Aprilia part, that should be on a parts list somewhere.
That sounds really healthy. Very nice upgrade!
Would absolutely appreciate it if you done a list of parts and where one could get them 😉 Got one collecting dust in the garage I'd love to do a full rebuild on 🤙🏽
Most of the rebuild is on this forum. www.rgv250.co.uk/forums/topic/63362-sodium-stroker/ TTW in the UK is where I got the 300 cylinders done and all the other parts to go with it....you can find them on the RGV250 forum
@@wedgehorsepower9869 Cheers bud really appreciate it 👍
R u change the clutch cover?
I took off the ugly plastic covers on both sides.
@@wedgehorsepower9869 it looks much better,, I'm going to do the same to my 21 thank you…
Did you change the bolts too? for shorter???
@@Juanitoabusadorcachondo yes I got some from AF1, that were same as the other cover bolts
👍👍👍✌️✌️
I have an RZ 350 R and RZ 500, I'm interested in what work you are doing with the RZs in your work shop. All the best from Australia
I have a few short youtube vids on the RZV. The RZ350 has no spark at the moment so I am contemplating getting a Zeel ignition for it.
After the walk around/warm up, I took it for short spin, and it still runs beautiful after all this time. The factory really knew how to set a bike up right, and that's is how I have kept it. Still running stock jetting in the 34 Mikuni's, stock ignition and power valve settings, straight plug heads still in use, along with stock pipes. I have a set of Kit Sugaya GP pipes for it and a Sugaya ignition box.....but it just runs so smooth as it is. I'll leave it alone and ride my VJ21 SP that is set up as a TT F3 kitted bike for a little more excitement instead.
How's the 3.5" working out for you?
Works perfect. I can now use a 160 rear tire and a 120 front.
Good. Do you still have it?
Yes, still have it. Originally brought it home about 8 years ago. It was originally intended as a parts bike for a race bike.....But luckily the previous owner gave up racing before that, and let it sit in a shed for about 7 years, until I talked him out of it.
Beautiful rebuild bro! What's motor is it? The> 499cm3 (56,4 x 50 mm) or the>494cm3 (54 x 54 mm) ?
Beautiful bike!!! I love the 500cc 2T!!! It's my dream!..
Hi what kind of lectron carburetor do you suggest for a VJ 22 I have already replaced the complete exhaust, control unit, cylinder heads, dry gearbox, currently I have 2 carb. 40mm thanks gianfranco
I used 38mm carbs. I believe they were just too big and cold not get it to run good throughout the entire RPM range. I put the 34 Mikuni's back on with airbox and bike feels better now.
This was our first session of three 10 minute sessions
Hi, was the conversion to Lectron troublesome? Was it a bolt up and play affair or did you have to do some modifications? What about the choke cables? Do you think these would work on a stock 250? Was Lectron helpful? Did you consider Smart Carb? What about the airbox?
Yes, it was troublesome I had to make new cables and had to have special intakes made. An airbox would have to be made, but not much room to make a good one considering the different carb placement I spent some time on a dyno, with numerous needles, and finally decided to put stock carbs and airbox back on. Expensive experiment
@@wedgehorsepower9869 Thanks for following up on this. The airbox question jumped at me as soon as I saw the carb configuration.
OMG! What sort of dream place is this??? Utter perfection right down to the smallest detailed safety wire work….and that introductory tease of bikes in a row….just 😍😍😍😍
