TAB Performance BAM 4.5” v. 2024 CVO ST Screaming Eagle Titanium muffler sound comparison
Просмотров 13 тыс.8 месяцев назад
This is a sound comparison between the TAB Performance 4.5” BAM stick and the Harley Davidson 2024 CVO ST OEM Screaming Eagle Titanium mufflers. The 2024 CVO ST muffler has been modified by removing the restrictors from both mufflers. Also, the fiberglass packing has been removed from the Left muffler only. The sound recording does not capture the sound profile perfectly. Subjectively, the TAB ...

Well, it’s a 9mm size filter. 😃
I was hoping it was at least 380 caliber, LOL
Can believe Mr Rogers would mess with his muffler.
Does removing the baffles effect torque and hp?
Not sure. I did not Dyno the bike. But I did not “feel” any difference. Thanks!
Long drive for lunch 😆
The ride was a lot of fun!
Nice skid plate. Do you know if anybody makes a plastic skid plate for these bikes? Being a dirt bike rider also I have a plastic one on it and it’s been great. Am betting if Harley puts one on the newer models it will be plastic.
@@kennyd6933 I’m unfamiliar with anyone elsewhere who makes a skid plate for the CVO. However, I’m sure someone will come out with another one soon!
Abomination
i did on mine , by doing this does it make the bike less powerful by losing the compression
I just found your channel and wanted to let you know I appreciate you taking the time to video the process for removing the restrictor and baffle material. My 24' RG ST CVO is being delivered tomorrow and this will be one mod. I make in the future. I was thinking of changing to the Tabs or another slip-on, but I want to keep the look of the stock pipes for this bike.
@@glennsgarageshop Thank you! Glad I could be of some help! 😀
What about a video about the sound?
is this the same for 23 rg cvo?
Unfortunately no. The 23 CVO has a different muffler with a baffle that is welded in.
Why do you have to rivet it together? Why not just use short screws
Is that baffle 2.5”
So... Your stating this only adds the hold assist in Neutral but does not affect the kickstand being down... That is exactly what I want. Also, does it still require a flash from the dealership??? If you could include a link to the purchase location, that would be awesome.
@@lifebehindbars68 I’ll send you mine! I removed it after a bit. No issues with it, just wanted the safety of the kickstand sensor.
Why can’t you use screw’s vs rivet’s to put it back together?
Thank you for making this video, it was helpful
@@markanderton1283 Thanks for watching!
Great job. I look it a step further and gutted everything. Sounds great now.
@@elea247 Cool! I will try that!
Did you disconnect the battery or just plug it in?
@@xXDarkHolidayXx No. I just plugged everything right in.
Thanks for the great videos. I did the same modes on my CVO Road Glide ST stock mufflers. I took the packing out both mufflers. (Though I don’t think I got it all out on the right side muffler). I was hoping for a little bit more depth in tone, and a little raspiness, it just didn’t make it enough. There is a slight improvement, so if you are into doing some work on the scoot for the works sake, it’s worth it. But little payoff with the pipe sound quality upgrade. I’ll be looking to put something else on.
@@blommy224 Thanks for the feedback! Appreciate it!
I just ordered the black one. Hopefully it won’t scratch easily but if it does, it’s not something I’m looking at anyways. Will ship later this month. Thanks for the informative video.
@@Lous-Clues Excellent! Thanks for watching!
Very well done video and description of everything, really appreciate you taking your time explaining everything
@@NeatFreq Thank you!
What a useless and expensive piece of added weight on your harley. Are you doing Trail riding or something. Some people just can't stop adding. You should spent your money on a better oil cooler protecter😮
@@tricgix2949 Actually, very useful! There are definitely reports of damage to the wires and even radiator hose from road debris being kicked up by the front tire. Really does not weigh much at all. Overall an almost “must have” addition! 😃
The water pump and wiring is under there . Harley should have done something like this to protect the components. I’ve seen plenty of damage from street riding . Excellent idea and product . I have it on my bike .

They now have a Black Anodized Skid Plate should return and exchange
@@Bikerbug2020 I did think that maybe I would exchange, but decided that I like the look - and also figured that overtime, the black skid plate would scratch, and begin to look “dinged” up more than just a plain uncoated plate.
Those frame bolts can be a bugger for sure. Just installed mine over the weekend. Great piece of protection, and a good price. I had my plate powdercoated for some added protection and a cleaner almost invisible install. Great video and instructions.
@@jasonbreedlove495 Couldn’t agree more! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for creating this video, I have the identical exhaust on my 2024 road glide CVO ST and I would like to make the exhaust louder so I’m going to go this route. Do you by chance have any videos of how it sounds now with everything removed?
Congrats 🎉🍾🎊🎈 best of luck
How do I order one
Are you selling the tabs ?
Thanks, but no. Going in another bike.
What I appreciate most about German Made Vehicles (BMW's), They are road ready from the factory. No need for all of these changes. 😂
BMW definitely make fine bikes! You don’t need to make any changes on a Harley. But one of the funnest things about a Harley is that you can make changes to make the bike your own. Harleys have a soul! 😃
What happens if you put holes into the restrictor and put it back? do you think you will have some back pressure? just an idea...
You will definitely have more back pressure with the restrictors in place. I just don’t know that that it would make much of a difference, as the pipes without the restrictors have a fair amount of resistance back pressure by themselves. Only way to tell would be to dyno the bike, before and after to see if there was any HP loss. 🤔
Good job! Nothing is more fun than taking brand new mufflers apart.
Thanks! You guys are the best!
Good morning hope all is well, how many miles did your bike have or those cvo st mufflers had when you did the extraction of the restrictor & fiber thread? I only have 14 miles on my bike lol it’s too quiet
Not sure about the mileage before - as I bought these from another person. Sorry!
@@PapaBiker thanks brother I think when I have a 100 miles I’ll do it😎
@@ComplaintFree Just a heads up - the more miles on the exhaust, the harder it is to remove the fiberglass packing as it starts to break down and only comes out in pieces…
@@PapaBiker ok so you think I should do it soon?
@@ComplaintFree If you are going to do it anyway, sooner is better than later. Otherwise you will need to rig up some sort of rod with a hook to pull out all the fiberglass.
Hey boss I’m waiting for the video with the sound on it,please make a sound video. .. thanx
Did your check engine or fi light come on after this? Did you lose power ?
All ran well! Don’t know about any loss of power…. At least I didn’t feel any. I didn’t do a before and after dyno test.
I like the silhouette of the bike with that rear seat cowl. I think it would look perfect painted raven black metallic or whiskey neat. Your bik looks and sounds great. The Whiskey Neat is still my favourite colourway for the CVO RG.
Thank you!
👌
Good afternoon. Any chance you can show where exactly the sensor is located/mounted on or near the jiffy stand?? Thx greets from Germany
I’ll do another video to hopefully show this better! Thanks!
Throw all those pipes away and put you a nice 2into1 stainless exhaust like I did on my 23 Roadglide-ST. More power and torque with a nice performance sound. Or buy a 2into1 with a dead pipe if you one of those that have to have pipes under hard bags.😂
A 2 into 1 stainless would look pretty excellent!
There is a RUclips video with your Bike that has one in a dyno. Check it out. It makes the bike look mean, and looks good.
@@Prometheus1979 Thank you! I’ll search for it!
I think it’s throttle blip the RUclipsr.
Let’s hear it?
I’ll make a video shortly!
Awesom video, will you let us know how it sounds.
Will do!
Tabs are ok, I decided to go with the KW 4.5" on mine. I wanted the deep loud sound.
I hear you! Klock Werx makes some very nice mufflers too! 😃
Does this mod have any effect on back pressure?
Great question! It seems like it would affect the back pressure. But I had noticed no decrease in power in the low end. 😃
The exhaust on the left side actually gets hotter faster and spits more exhaust. Ive checked with running mine, though i still have a 20 and not sure if they changed the flow for the 24. So really, your right muffler would be "quieter" or should be.
Unless maybe you have a true dual set up, the factory exhaust with all Harley Touring frames flow much less exhaust from the left side. Maybe you have a non-factory exhaust?
@@PapaBiker i do, but i thought the stock header pipe did the same. Maybe im wrong not sure.
Right side is straight through left side has the big bend to get it to the other side of the bike.
Throw my victory next to that people wouldn't even look at Dat hd😅
What’s a Victory? 😂
Are they still in business?
I installed one on my 2024 street Glide (non-CVO) and it works fine except any brake light flashing will stop as soon as I activate the turn signals. Maybe that is by design since the turn signal light is embedded within the brake lights. Having the brake light flash at a different rate can mask or confuse looking at the turn signal while that is flashing?
Maybe! I think you are right!
The behavior I experienced is correct. Per the instructions: 7. Turn power on and test for function of the turn signals, running and brake signals with desired setting. Confirm that the turn signal will override the brake signal when the brakes are applied.
Do you know if they make one for a 2020 street glide? Thanks.
Yes! I believe they do!
