New England based Railfan extraordinair!
The 2024 Florida East Coast Christmas Train - Daytona Beach 12/7/2024
A quick shot of the yearly FEC Toys for Tots Christmas Train. It ran through the Daytona Beach golf course around 6:00 or so.
This year, the train ran northbound rather than Southbound, which gave us the opportunity to see it at night with its decorations all lit up.
The train consisted of two GP38 units, two modified intermodal cars, and the executive consist.
A great treat before the winter break.

That is pretty much the Missouri Kansas Texas railroad from 1947 to 1954 in a nutshell😂 *(1947 was when the first diesels arrived, 1954 was when the last M-K-T steam engine was retired.)*
As someone who's a huge fan of the Missouri Kansas Texas railroad, I absolutely love Lionel's M-K-T 851. That engine looks so much like the real L-1 and L-2 mikados from the M-K-T. Despite the steep prices, those Lionchief mikados look very awesome 😎

I love it. Those old cogs are something special. 20 years ago I was in the Iron region of the Austrain Alps and saw a large standard Guage locomotive on outdoor static display. It had a disingaugable cog drive. That could be pulled up for regular grades. Lowed for the steep with a center track with teeth. Cool stuff.
