Probably the FX. It’s got a lot more torque than the X did. It’s just easier to ride. I don’t have to ride it near as hard as I did the X to keep up a good pace. I do miss how light the X was, and of course the sound and smell of the 2 stroke
@@prestongardiner177 yeah. I gotcha. Im considering a big bore kit when its time for a top end to try and get more bark off the bottom
Preston Gardiner right on, thanks for the info on that. I always wondered how the two compared. My last two bikes have been 2 strokes but I always wondered how the newer fours were on the woods comparatively. My 2009 crf250r was a terrible woods bike.

2 strokes make about 1.6x more power and torque than the same size 4 stroke. A 250fx has just over 20 ft/lb and low 40 hp. A 250x has nearly 35 ft/lb and high 40 hp. Now the 250x is quite rich and needs the carb jetted but once that is done your good. I perfer the 2 stroke but I like this 250x too. Just because it is a faster bike dosent mean it is a faster ride.
The 250x most certainly does not make 35 ft/lb of torque. More like 27/28 ft.lb. I know because I am buying one going from an RMX 450 to the 250x and I wanted to make sure it makes the same torque, which it does. The 250x is 40lbs lighter than my 450, so it will feel much more powerful, too.
