    look guys - BJ may not have the type of players he wants BUT these guys are professional soccer players. It should not take long to explain and get a feel for a new formation and tactics. this is not like installing a new offense in American football or basketball. BJ Soccer is more about formation and playing a more aggressive style instead of mainly laying back and looking to counter, If you want use a high press and look to clog up the midfield then you better have a strong backline for those moments when you get broken down.

      Installing a new system in soccer can be very complicated. Not sure how it compares to other sports but it for sure gets tougher when you have a group of guys who haven’t used the instincts you need for high press in 5 years.

  • @enoughisenough3710
    @enoughisenough3710 21 день назад

    The way they staged the delay with BJ taking over he gets a pass for this year - then next year if they can 'improve' to .500 he gets no heat. I'm not sold on BJ at all but I'm not down on him either. We just don't know and unless next season is a complete disaster it may be 2 years before we discover that he's only average.... He's just not a proven commodity and it's a gamble.

      Facts. Tunji felt this way when the rumor first came out. There is no record of him as a permanent head coach on this level. Kind of reminds us of Mike Vrabl of the Titans. Right now all we can see is apparently he’s good at motivating his players

      I think he is a coach. The only reason I’m leaning towards liking him is because I can see his organized approach peaking through in flashes. I also am interested in his player development skills. I’m actually banking on it.

    Who knows what BJ will do? What can he do? This roster is god-awful - Pep could not win with this team. Now as to BJ - I don't know if he's good or not as he has never been a HC at this level outside of a cameo USMNT fill in for Berhaltter. I don't think heing GB's right hand man is a good thing, oh by the way.

  • @enoughisenough3710
    @enoughisenough3710 2 месяца назад

    6 game losing streak now. GM should be fired. The roster isn't even a good USL roster. Why leave an interim in charge for 13 games? That's a joke - if BJ was your man then write a check and get him in here waaaaaay sooner. The team is lost - has no identity and even if they actually had a plan I don't think they have the players to take control of a game. Even with all this they are only 2 points out of the bloated playoff system. the 7, 8 and 9 teams are just complete trash and have ZERO business being in the 'playoffs'. The roster must be turned over - there are a handful of keepers BUT the owner is going to have to spend some money and get 7-8 talented guys in here.

    I am a more recent fan (started early last year) love the commentary but I have one issue, idk how y’all think Muyl is good, every time he touches the ball in an important spot he bumbles it, he has great effort but doesn’t pass well, doesn’t have good control, doesn’t shoot well, so what does he do that is good?

    • @tunjithecreative
      @tunjithecreative 4 месяца назад

      lol we’ve talked about Muyls value add so many times. He essentially is a human Swiss knife that is forced to play different positions due to roster mismanagement.

      @@Mixtape615pod Whats his contact info cuz i just dont see it, he plays all over that is true, and that has probably stunted his growth, however the eye test fails spectacularly. In the interest of transparency I will say i have never played soccer competitively or really watched before my NSC fandom. However I watch and play a lot of other sports and I know how to watch sports critically and realistically. There are 2 possibilities here, either his decisions in game were a result of the coaching, possibly the style is so unsuited to him it is killing him, I dont really believe that with the number of flat out missed passes, bad decisions, and flat out fumbles when handling the ball. I have as much anxiety as when i watch my 5 year old play soccer when he touches the ball. I think the root is when he handles the ball he makes mistakes I dont see pros make in any other sport at this consistency.

    Thank you for putting this together. It's difficult to find NSC content. I think Gary in for sure. Imo his approach is why we've been successful but not very successful to this point. Build the defense first, low scoring games, make the playoffs. He's recently brought in offense like Shaffleburg, Fafa and Surridge. I think this is a big change for Sam and confidence might be an issue. I feel like when we start winning the low scoring games instead of drawing that the strategy might change.

    Another great pod fellas. You hit the nail on the head with the midfield, we have to get something going there. It’s a scary reality that without Dax we can’t flip the field and get our attack going. I do think a couple “get right” games at home might be the spark we need for a playoff run.
