I think it just depends on what you want to fill the cup or box with. If it’s smaller pieces like studs or leaf pieces or whatever smaller bits, the cup is a great way to go, but with plates and tiles of a rectanglular or square nature, the box is the better choice. But now we have no choice but box.

Honestly the box makes more sense, a lot of Lego bricks are bricks thus rectangular, thus they’ll fit in a rectangle better than a cylinder, even though I’ll admit the cups were kinda cool looking and acted as a good storage solution I wouldn’t be surprised if they ended up thrown out afterwards by some families
