Wiener Dog Race I @ Steel Stacks - Oktoberfest 2011
Wow, this was uploaded the same day the Eagles won the Superbowl!
I’m a GB Packer fan; I have been since watching the “Ice-Bowl” where Bart Starr did the last minute QB sneak. When the Eagles beat the Packers for the Championship it was a great game, so I tip my hat to the 1960 Eagles; the 1960 NFL World Champions forever! Thanks for posting this great video.
That would be Vince Lombardi's first and last playoff loss.
Question for all you Philadelphia fans. When Buck Shaw retired after the championship season the story is that there was an agreement that Van Brocklin was to have been named the head coach but someone reneged according to Van Brocklin and Nick Skorich was hired instead. Anyone know what the full story on that is?
pete retzlaff a great pioneer!!!
The Guy in the picture at 23:36 look like Herschel Walker
TRACEY Handy Wide receiver played for Eagles Philadelphia 78
Jeff sell the team to an owner who want to win and not trade the QB who wins a Superbowl against the patriots and brady. what a piece of work. I have not and will not watch or go to another game as long as you are the owner.
Great video I remember those names. ..so well...My father was a big Tommy McDonald fan. Congratulations...Eagles..!!
I think possibly the NFL never forgot or forgave Brookshire when he failed to show as broadcaster with Pat Summerall ... the " gentlemen , we've lost Brookie " incident....
What incident was that..?
?
That’s Bill Campbell talking at 8:40 -great Philadelphia broadcaster
He was my favorite -Bill was a homer but, he had a great delivery!
Concrete Charlie, Flying Dutchman, Retzlaff, McDonald, what a team! Respect from a Bears fan.
And they weren't playing for mllion$$
The show lists Retzlaff as a "tight end." Actually on this team he was what they called in those days a 'split-end' wide left usually with McDonald flanked wide right. Bobby Walston was the tight-end.
That is correct as he was a split end.
Watson was also the placekicker -shows how long ago this was
I was a vendor (hot chocolate) at Franklin Field in the 60s, and couldn't make any money, so I sat at the 50 yard line, and watched some really great football. By the way, hot chocolate, in those days, came in 6 oz cans, and was the only product that unsold goods could be returned. Poor, but happy.😉.
Who else here is born in Philly? Me? @ Children's Hospital.
Chuck “Concrete Charlie” Bednarik 💪🏻would have made hamburgers out of today’s pampered QB’s....!
Did you see the way the QB was getting smashed waaaaay after he threw the ball??!! Bednarik and Deacon Jones both would love to kill these guys today.
We had season tickets. I was 13. Ted Dean's touchdown reception against the Giants opening the 4th quarter is clear in my memory. We had climbed to the top of Franklin Field at the 50 yard line. Looking down we saw the play develop right in front of us. Unforgettable.
I was 12 and at the game as well. I got goosebumps when I heard 60,000 people sing the national anthem.
The 1960 Philadelphia Eagles won the World Championship, with no 500 yard runner on the squad and had a defense which was only tenth on a twelve team league. It simply known as "The Team With Nothing But A Title".
Packers went for it on 4th & 1 three times and failed....they kick the FGs and they win easy...don't know why Vince kept going for it....
Lombardi often said he lost the game himself not his players...Vince told his team they would never lose a championship game again....no disrespect to the eagles they deserved it
The Packers averaged over 4.5 yards a carry that season, and despite having the better record, the Eagles gave up almost 5 yards a carry on the ground that season. Lombardi was playing his percentages. Give the Eagles credit. That day, they won key battles in the trenches.
The Eagles turned it over on their first two possessions, giving the Packers a golden opportunity to blow the game open early ... and they came away with only 3 points. This not only stopped our momentum, but kept the Eagles in the game. Scoring at least one TD off those turnovers might have made the difference between winning and losing.
i'm only 5 minutes into the video but two quick comments. it's funny to hear the great Tommy McDonald say how he was afraid he would be cut as a young player, he went on to be the best receiver in the 60's and one of the best players of his era and a Hall of Famer. my other comment, why is frank Fitzpatrick in the video? "the Eagles won championships in the late 40's, I THINK 48 and 49" and "the Eagles won I THINK 5 or 6 games by 7 or less. put people in the video who know what they are talking about
Brookshire is rarely mentioned. Wonder why? He was an important part of this team.
i realize I'm kinda off topic but does anyone know of a good site to stream new movies online?
@Corbin Grant Lately I have been using Flixzone. Just google for it :)

Dukes final 4minutes against ufc
On Christmas morning that year, there were two tickets for this game under the tree (day before the game), and my dad and I took the Broad St subway and then the Market St el out to a few blocks from Penn, and walked, with a LOT of other people, to Franklin Field. We watched it from the east end of the horseshoe, so when Taylor went down on the Eagles' 9, we had a good view--until all those adults in front started jumping up and down--but then the game was over. It's great to see Bill Campbell in here--a friend who listened to the game on the radio couldn't get over Campbell's emotional reaction when the game was won--some of which you can hear in this great little documentary.
Waaay before my time, but I was born @ Children's Hospital so I know exactly where it is.
When the NFL was fun to watch.🏈
What are you talking about? The NFL is still fun to watch.
@@kennethlucas7473 No, it isn't unless you like watching flag fests and refs controlling who wins games.
@@osaji922 unfortunately ur right
Natural football..grass mud and dirt and snow..thats natural football
Tom Brookshier said when Bednarik hit Gifford he said it sounded like an ax hitting cracking a piece of wood.
Pat Summerall often said that at that game a fan died of a heart attack and was brought into the giants locker room for first aid...after the game the giants were going to their locker room and saw the fan being carried out...Pat said the the players thought that Chuck killed Frank..
Must have been helmet-to-helmet :0p
@@fitnessguru8012 actually, you can find the hit on RUclips. Gifford is running towards the sideline to stop the clock, and Bednarik clothesline’s Gifford at the upper torso, sending Gifford’s body flat to the ground like dropping a concrete slab. Leveled, like the expression. Gifford’s head hits the ground like dropping a stack of dishes on a tile floor. A combination of a massive hit, with a bad fall.
@@smitskee if I remember right, wasn"t the picture on the cover of Sports Illustrated? At first people thought Bednarik was gloating Didn't Gifford sit the next year out...then came back as a flanker..?
Michael O'Brian Bednarek was indeed gloating over the downed Frank Gifford. There might Have been a bit of jealousy over Gifford's fame & good Looks.
as a falcons fan I'm glad the eagles stopped the patriots from being repeating champs
As a Bills fan the Eagles have always been my favorite NFC team because I hate the Cowboys, Giants, and Redskins
;0p
I waited 58 LONG years for this superbowl! Being an Eagles fan is not an easy sportslife, but it sure is an exciting one!
HOW ABOUT 62 F**KNG YEARS!!?? Yes. 1957 since the Detroit Lions won two freaking playoff games and a freaking championship!! Anyway, congratulations Eagles fans. Y'all deserve it. 🙂
I'm a Bills fan. Been waiting since 1965 for the Bills to be champions again.....54 years. But we're finally starting to look like a contender
It's fitting that Wentz wears Van Brocklin's number.
@@kennethlucas7473 Whoever inked that lifetime Thanksgiving game contract for the Lions was a genius!
❤️1960s NFL football
Well the Eagles finally won another. The most rabid fans in football got to tie one on again at long last.
I'd say the Buffalo and Philadelphia fans are definitely the craziest in the NFL
