Explaination: You can also find the full story by googling “the lamp looks oddly flat.” Note: This isn’t my story but it was copy/pasted so it’s in first person. My last semester at a certain college I was assulted by a football player for walking where he was trying to drive (note he was 325lbs I was 120lbs), while unconscious on the ground I lived a different life. I met a wonderful young lady, she made my heart skip and my face red, I pursued her for months and dispatched a few jerk boyfriends before I finally won her over, after two years we got married and almost immediately she bore me a daughter. I had a great job and my wife didn't have to work outside of the house, when my daughter was two she [my wife] bore me a son. My son was the joy of my life, I would walk into his room every morning before I left for work and doted on him and my daughter. One day while sitting on the couch I noticed that the perspective of the lamp was odd, like inverted. It was still in 3D but... just.. wrong. (It was a square lamp base, red with gold trim on 4 legs and a white square shade). I was transfixed, I couldn't look away from it. I stayed up all night staring at it, the next morning I didn't go to work, something was just not right about that lamp. I stopped eating, I left the couch only to use the bathroom at first, soon I stopped that too as I wasn't eating or drinking. I stared at the fucking lamp for 3 days before my wife got really worried, she had someone come and try to talk to me, by this time my cognizance was breaking up and my wife was freaking out. She took the kids to her mother's house just before I had my epiphany.... the lamp is not real.... the house is not real, my wife, my kids... none of that is real... the last 10 years of my life are not fucking real! The lamp started to grow wider and deeper, it was still inverted dimensions, it took up my entire perspective and all I could see was red, I heard voices, screams, all kinds of weird noises and I became aware of pain.... a fucking shit ton of pain... the first words I said were "I'm missing teeth" and opened my eyes. I was laying on my back on the sidewalk surrounded by people that I didn't know, lots were freaking out, I was completely confused. At some point a cop scooped me up, dragged/walked me across the sidewalk and grass and threw me face down in the back of a cop car, I was still confused. I was taken to the hospital by the cop (seems he didn't want to wait for the ambulance to arrive) and give CT scans and shit.. I went through about 3 years of horrid depression, I was grieving the loss of my wife and children and dealing with the knowledge that they never existed, I was scared that I was going insane as I would cry myself to sleep hoping I would see her in my dreams. I never have, but sometimes I see my son, usually just a glimpse out of my peripheral vision, he is perpetually 5 years old and I can never hear what he says.

A few months ago I had the same friend as my sisters they didn’t talk to me as much as they talked to me sister and one day I went to talk to this other girl (out of the friend group) and she asked for my number and now we are besties 💅it’s amazing what god can do for people when you just ask for help ❤ but the problem is I’m still friends with the old group and I don’t know what to do cuz now they talk to me more and they where never rude really just didn’t like me ig idk 😝

this has hurt me sm bc it was all so sudden but here we go. one day i came home from school and my mom was on the phone with my grandmother. i couldn't really understand what she was talking about. then she was talking to my sister about my uncle and "doing meth in high school" i asked what that was about but go no real answer. later i was in my room calling my best/closest friend when i started to hear yelling. i shrugged it off and then i went to go see what was happening. my mom was yelling at my brother. he was previously grounded and i was never told why. i went back to my room and hung up the phone. i started just listening to thee conversation but couldn't figure out what they were talking about. i was so confused. later my mom called us out of our room and said "i'm leaving because your brother won't stop doing drugs and your dad isn't here to support me." (he was at work)i was in shock. i never would've guessed that. "you were right _______, you are way smarter than me." my sister drove my mom to the storage place where we kept her RV. my sister came back in tears. i hugged her tightly and went to my room. i was in tears telling my two best friends what happened. one of them responded with "oop" which was so annoying. my mom was back after a few days because she believed everything was better fast forward a few months.... my parents are yelling at my brother again. i listened the whole time. i walk out of my room, so confused on what was happening. i go out of my room and pretend to get water as i do whenever these things happen. my brother ran out of his room yelling and screaming at my mom throwing a chair, saying she's the worst part of his life and that he can't ever get away from her (he's his english teacher) hearing that hurt me some how. during those arguments my sister always comes in my room to make sure i'm okay. my mom drove off and nobody knew where she was going. she went to a casino because they have good food. i was the only person who realized she left. i asked my dad if he knew where she was and he said she was in her room. the car wasn't there. after this i resorted to sh to cope and stuff because it was so much and that was the only way i felt like i had more control over myself. a few more months later my mom was on the phone with my grandmother talking about my brother... i already know how this goes... when she got off the phone i asked what happened. "your brother got suspended until january" (it was like march or april of this year) i knew i wouldn't get an answer so i didn't bother. i assumed he was doing drugs again or something. when my sister got back from work she was talking to my mom about my brother being caught in the hallway smoking and that she had to turn in her own son to the office. there was no real fight but my mom said my brother would have to tell my other grandparents eventually because he was going to be doing online school there. after eavesdropping, i learned he was selling marijuana at school as well. i was keeping one of my two other friends (not the ones from earlier) updated about all of this because they're the ones i feel most comfortable venting to. i think about a few weeks later... my mom was yelling at my brother (again) and then something major happened. she told my dad he wasn't helping him enough and that my brother wasn't gonna listen to her so he needs my dad to be more of a role modelish type thing. so, she sent them to go live with my grand parents for a little to have some "bonding" or something. my grandma came over to pick them up. everyone lives together again but that doesn't make everything better. my mom found out abt the SH and stuff and took me to the school counselor. i get so anxious whenever i'm there. just this month i went on a vacation to see my other grandparents (my moms parents) with nobody but my brother. i thought he would try anything since we weren't home... i was wrong. i was walking back from getting italian ice with my two cousins and my brother. we were walking back to the house on the beach (my brothers idea) and i said i didn't want to. after like two minutes my brother left me and my cousins on the beach and he went to walk on the street. alone. at night. my cousins were telling me all about him. he started vaping when he was 12/13 in 2021. i had no idea. and that my uncle (their dad) asked him if he wanted a hit. and to top it off, he brought two vapes with him. i couldn't believe it. i felt like my whole life wasnt real. they told me not to trust him and that we have to work together and shit i don't remember. we met back up with him at the entrance to the beach. he said we weren't allowed to tell anyone. after that i was in my room getting ready for bed and i heard yelling between him and my cousins. i thought they were just messing around but i go to check anyway. i open the door and they're all on the floor fighting. i was told to leave. i was so confused and scared. when they were dont my brother walked out and sat in the couch. i went into their room and asked my cousins what happend. they explained how they were fighting and stuff. turns out they jumped my brother. guess what it was over... one of the bottom bunks. wont get into it cuz it's too much stuff. in conclusion or whatever, my brother never was and never will be who i thought he is. i still love him because he's my brother i'm just disappointed. thank you so much if you actually read this and i'm so sorry it was so much ❤
