This was the time the writers were trying to make Dennis seem like a "good guy" and make viewers like him rather than just fancy him. He had a soft spot for Stacey and it made me think he could relate to her. Probably experienced rejection growing up like she did because he seems to understand her a lot, even when she plays her "games". He knows she's just a bored, lonely kid, like he was.

Stupid writing decision getting Dennis back with Zoe and moving in together - purely done I think to facilitate the xmas storyline. Make it make sense and this sadly didn't. Of course I have got my theories of why he got back with her to make it make sense but honestly my theories still don't hold up of why he got back with her.
