Hi, Can you advise the difference between the SNXS79 and the SNKL23 please? which is better and why? I know i will have to change the wristband on the SNXS79 if i choose that one but anything else i should know? what is your preference between these two and why? I find the glass back so you can see the movements to be more of a gimmick. The move from the 37mm case to 40mm and greater cases to just look like you're wearing dinnerplayes no matter what Hollywood stars have been flocking to larhe watches, Seiko no longer syrictly following their five requirements which the five in Seiko 5 reoresents as one was for the crown to be recessed (flushed) and at the 4 o'clock positions which was great for dress watches as it meant the watch would not catch on your clothes. Now, with these models, the crown is no longer flush though they may have ramparts to either side to prevrnt the crown from catching on clothing and they're starting to make Seiko 5's with the crown at 3 o'clock as well as full branded Seiko watches such as the Prospex with mixed 3 o'clock and 4 o'clock positions. They alsi changed stamping the watches with the mechanism calibre name and the case model number such as my old "7009-3040" watch and replaced it with model names such as SNXS79 and in 2019 not only did they change the logo and name of Seiko 5 to Seiko 5 Sport but they also made the entire serial number a unique number so you can no longer decode the manufacture date from the serial number and calibre. These Seiko 5's are not what I would consider Seiko 5's but rather just another generic fashion line like Fossil watches. It is staying with the traditions they had defined and the decidable serial number that made the watches so collectable, what these more modern Seiko 5's are, are just pressuring collectors towards their more expensive full Seiko branded watches instead of the entry level sub brand. Even staying with the Hardplex branded mineral glass for the watch crystal instead of the sapphire coated hence truly scratch resistant crystal so common today shows they just want the Seiko 5's to be disposable entry level watches instead if the sentimental master pieces they became. Thing is, even with Seiko's continued attempt to sabotage the Seiko 5 sub brand, these watches will still become of sentimental value and far more likely to be valued by the customer than any quartz watch.
