青花つて、つゆくさのお色だと伺った事が御座います。下絵の線書には、それのみ使うとも。あと、色を付けないための糊だとか。 漆使いの食器などと同じで、各工程で、専門がいらっしゃるとか。どこの誰かが欠けても変わっても、当初の予定以上には、なかなか、生地のお顔がほほえまないかも。。。 このようにひとつひとつひとりひとりのてによる作業で少しずつ、姿をなしていく、その仕事は、代々大切に使うためのものであることが、そもそも物の少ない時代において、命がけと言う表現が大袈裟では無かった事も有り得たかもしれず、承る側もお願いする側も、素性の知れぬ他人は容易には工房には、家にも、入れなかったことで、故に、代々の暖簾、屋号は、末代まで。落款を入れる作品もしかり、たとうしの屋号すら重い。

Have a sizeable collection of Japanese textiles I always enjoy. Understood much of what went into making them. Now I know, after 40yrs of collecting and study. You have shown me how little I understand.

Omg, this is how they make the silk fabric for the kimono??? I have two whole bolts of kimono silk 65+ years old, from Japan, and was going to use them to sew traditional kimono.. I'm kind of afraid to use them now..

Wow, this just looks sooooo gorgeous 🥰 I love how these garments are the exact opposite of our clothing culture nowadays. That there's so much craftsmanship going into they're making, there,'s no left-over pieces of fabric when they're sawn, that they would be cherished, passed on as heirloom pieces even and repaired rather than throwing them out 🥰
