it seemed like they were joking when they said they were influenced by smashing pumpkins, the goo goo dolls and third eye blind but i can totally hear that influence especially on their newer music

I have so much respect for Parker and the rest of the group. They’re so underrated. TSSF is the only band I feel such a strong connection to. They share a very unique style of music, mostly driven with anger. I relate a lot to their music and they’re all down to earth and just amazing. They definitely deserve more recognition and respect.

Pop Punk is good. But The Story So Far is outstanding, they just have these fucking beautiful riffs that are put in this order and tempo that make you feel so chill. Thank you for making music that gets me excited to listen to every morning.
For real though!! Definitely one of thee most underrated pop punk bands ever and deserve a whole lot more attention around the music scene. We need MORE bands like TSSF!

Gustavo Alovisi I don't think you get my point. I'm saying that we need more bands like TSSF because of how amazingly built their songs are, from their lyrics to their killer instrumentals.
Rock and punk are just genres of music, mixing the two is just saying that there's a bit of both, and adding pop in front just means it's popular.. Just enjoy the music you listen to people! :D

The thing is, when you throw "pop" in front of any genre whether it be punk, rock, metal, etc. it simply means that its popular. pop punk is exactly as the genre name implies- popular punk music. I dont think anyone here can deny that theyre popular, and they themselves say that theyre punk, so with all technicalities involved theyre pop punk
People that say "Neeeuuhrrr it's just rock music muuhhr, stahhp with all da subgenres" are fucking naïve. Pop-Punk is a legitimate subgenre, it has a recognisable sound to it, a scene with a following, and a shit-load of bands that are happy to identify as such. These guys are quite obviously Pop-Punk, both in sound and in respect to what other bands they associate with. If I heard a band I liked, and went about searching for something similar with the parameters of the aforementioned irritating logic, it'd be like finding a needle in a haystack. Subgenres and classifications in general exist for a reason, understand this.
I went to their show in seattle last weekend and it was the best show i've ever been to. El Corazone is a sick venue and TSSF fucking killed it. Best pop punk band around.
