Here is my second attempt to get a complete Rapido GMD-1. It starts out rocky, but I think the model redeems itself and the video.

2024 Maritime Federation Train Show Pt 1
The Acadian Lines bus is cool. I didn't even know those were made. Now I need to go looking for one. :)
@@DarkpawTheWolf I'd like to find a SMT bus that ran in New Brunswick.
Nice John Deer flat, 1950's bus, Boxcar, couple of shunters, and Sagami motor good haul. Jersey Bill
Nice finds! The best part ever, for those switchers, is that NWSL actually makes/sells new made nickel-silver wheels for both of them. They have the wheels that fit those black ,band drive axle drums. The 44 tonners are geared axles (comes in a set of 4). Those work great for both single or double motored versions.
That's quite good for little outlay.
nice unboxing! sweet loco. not sure I've ever seen a 4-4-4 before. :)
Thanks for the information. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Great haul!. I hope i have some good luck in a couple weeks at my local show, lol.
Thumbs up! 📬
Love Ray Stevens, got a 45 Misty/Sunshine somewhere lol
quite the collection you're building...nice running diesel
Thanks!
SWEET
That's really nice looking loco...unfortunate you have to do work to make it run...
Nice Loco and carriages. 👍
Great looking engine. Shame about the dead engine. Hopefully that is an easy fix. Happy modelling. Mon from Monsville Railways
What a beautiful locomotive what a shame about the motor. looking forward to any follow-up you may have on this. Good luck, Jersey Bill
Thats a long train!
Nice haul and great deals. Jersey Bill
Cool loco.
Superb Overtons.
Love the roundhouse stuff... always on my shopping list.
I had to have the set when I first saw them. I can't wait to build them
looking good...
Many a model railroader tends to reject the Mehano locomotives, but I personally think they are absolutely fantastic runners. Quiet as heck too, in many cases. The Overton coaches make a fine consist. I have a B&O blue set. All from the early 1980's.
@@WWIIREBEL Sweet! The 2-6-0 is from the President's Choice Train sets. It needs to be serviced, but still runs well.
@@sidetraxx779 A little oil and a dab of grease on the axle gear.. a little bit of polishing the drivers bright ,and she'll run like a dream.
very cool
Well Holly, you got lucky the shipping carriers were gentle with your locomotive. Nice purchase, Jersey Bill
@@JerseyBill-x9r thanks.
Great looking locomotive and cars.
Thank you very much!
Nice find and good runner. Jersey Bill
Cool purchase. NMRA collectable Locomotives and freight cars. Love the special run, anniversary and collector cars. Snatch up every one that interest me. Find really neat stuff at train shows usually fairly cheap.
nice find. once ya get that all built and lubed up, she going to look nice with more of your collection
Nice!
I was just having a similar issue with my older generation BLI N&W J Class. I replaced the gear that was on the axle, but I am now finding that I may have to replace all of the gears in the locomotive. Did you find that replacing all of them was effective and getting the locomotive to run?
@@MatthewESkros hi! Yes I replaced all of the gears. Northwest Short Line has the sets for sale. They worked perfectly.
@@sidetraxx779 Is there a chance you have the link to that product? I just wrote to BLI asking if they could send them to me, but I want to be prepared in case they cannot provide them. I had BLI replace the gear on the axle, so that is done, but for some reason the new gear is not meshing with the rest of the ones in the locomotive. I think it would be wise just to replace all of them.
@@MatthewESkros nope, I was wrong. I got my Life like Proto 2000 Birkshire gear from NWSL. I got all my gears for my J Class from BLI. The axle gear was cracked and they said that to replace all the gears in the gear tower. The lot included the axle gear and part 75/76.
@@sidetraxx779 Oh very interesting! They did not tell me to replace all of the gears in the gear tower. I will write to them and ask for the new gears. That must be why the new gear on the axle is not meshing with the rest of the tower. Thanks for the troubleshooting!
Hi there - reactivating this thread. I got the new gears from BLI, but I am having a tough time replacing the entire gear tower. I was having an issue with the gear tower housing, which is a cast piece on my J, and which cannot be opened. I am wondering how you managed to replace all the gears in the gear tower, and whether you used a special tool (or not) to open the gear tower housing.
sweet!
Nifty idea.
Great idea. I need one 😂👍
This guy liked to hear himself talk
I can talk a lot longer than a minute, want me to send you some?
Are you aware that Europe is on fire? I`m at a loss for words.
Hi, Thanks for sharing! I am searching for a diy project for months! I don't have 60€ for buying an ESU! This is the best and have the quick conector I wanted to, you use the BETTER and simpler HiFi and I didn´t remember to use those, I intended to use the wago! If you can, please share the connections or PCB! I really want to make it Tranks
@@AndreFilipeAlmeidaPinto hi! Thanks for your comments. There is nothing special, all of the connections under the project box cover are just wires and solder. No pcb. If you like I can send you some photos via email?
Good looking loco, love the sounds 👍
More to do an install than I thought!
I do more than just connecting the decoder. Upgrade to LEDs and add other lighting.
@@sidetraxx779 Oh I know and appreciate the upgrades
That F7A looks familiar…..
Okay, the song got me !! Haha I think they r from NC, where I'm from.
Well Holly, nice hall in this mail call video. The diversity of cars goes well with the locomotive and the passenger cars look really good with that beauty of a steamer. Nice video, Jersey Bill
Plenty of variety there, nice haul.
Those are some very nice purchases! I've ordered quite a few times from Hobby Wholesale, like you said, not the cheapest, but if you factor in the free shipping in canada, it often comes out cheaper!
long live stream,, you will have to tell me what min mark.
Hey Sparky, I noted the CVs and the new values in the video description for you. You can also go to 38:25 to see how I learned about what the value of CV114 was and needs to be. As for startup and shut down, you may want to keep them on F26 and F27, of you have ditch lights on F5.
i don't think this is the right live stream you speak of.
@@sparky107107 nope one before this one.
Award for best tune of the evening goes to Holly!!! Love the Doobie Brothers
I will take anything you don’t want😂 just getting into the hobby
PNR is a NMRA region, just like the SER, or SSR.
Need to list your stuff on a spreadsheet, so you don't have duplicates.
The AHM tenders can be tough to get a KD on.
