Welcome to the RUclips channel of Swiss Exams - Authorised provider for Cambridge English Exams in Switzerland. Swiss Exams provides Cambridge English Exams in most major cities in Switzerland, among them Basel, Bern, Chur, Luzern, Zürich, St.Gallen, Winterthur and more.
Our videos are made to help students, teachers, schools and parents get information and insight into the Cambridge English Exams in Switzerland. Currently, we have videos on computer-based testing, the written exam day, the speaking test day, exam registration, results and certificates, seminars for teachers, etc. These videos apply to all Cambridge English Exams with some exceptions.

I see that you are allowed to use paper for the computer based exam. However, I just wonder if I have to bring it or is it going to be provided to us?

Hi there, thank you for your question. You can use paper for notes. If you do, you need to leave the paper on your desk and can not take it out of the exam room. The exam answers all need to be typed into the computer and not saved on paper. The paper will not be assessed. Hope this helps. Good luck with your exam! Your Swiss Exams Team
Good morning I have read that in the computer based exam, in the Use of English the system automatically corrects the exam and not a teacher, so if you have a small mistake like a wrong letter, is it not possible that they give you half the value of the correct answer? I understand that in the paper-based exam, they can give you half the value of the correct answer.
Hi Gorka Antolin, Thank you for your questions. The automaker is designed to match the responses with the possible correct answers, it can identify if the candidate should be awarded 0,1 or 2 points (for 0-2 worth questions) and 0 or 1 (for 0-1 worth questions). It is not true that, for a Paper-based test, an examiner would award a candidate with a point or half if there is a small mistake like a typo or wrong letter unless the mark scheme allows this kind of misspelling. In conclusion - Computer and Paper-based exams are marked in the same way and the examiner will not be lenient during Paper Based exam when seeing small mistakes. They all follow the mark scheme and there are no exceptions. Will you take / Have you taken your exam on the computer? We'd love to read from you again!
