Do you know how to track traffic from AI Overviews?
Haha I'm trying to figure this out too. Hopefully he can update a video soon. I'm currently trying different things
Unfortunately Google doesn't identify AI overview is anyway. But you should see AI overviews in Google Search Console. Or then you can try to set up tracking with GTM & GA4, but it's a bit tricky: semkaizen.com/how-to-track-google-ai-overview-in-ga4/
This one was very useful and glad to see this is up to date. Thanks mate!

Do you have any PDF for ga4 dimensions and metrics?

I have a strong feeling that I will go through all of your content:D
haha, glad you are finding it valuable!
the google analytics script is forbidden in Europe ...
I think you are referring to GPDR and GA4. From what I understand it's not forbidden, but definitely you need to give option to opt-out from GA4 (part of your cookie policy)
I thought u were Iman Ghadzi on the first look Great value👍
Ha! :) yeah there is some resembles. Happy you liked the video!
This is awesome, Robert You’re so right about it. Without being able to turn data into insights like you just did there’s no use of it. I’ve been using Microsoft Clarity for a few months now and the insights it gives are so solid. You can actually see what people are clicking the most, scroll depth, heat maps, area maps. Just mind blowing. 🤩
This report is not available in GA4 anymore, or at least with my integration of GA4 with Shopify via Google and RUclips channel app, it doesn't work. I can't find info about it. Also, the revenue is tracked in GA without excluding discounts.
Thank you Robert, very helpful ... I'm going to create the UTM tackling links today and see if they show up tomorrow. This will be for social media so I'm trying to figure out how to best organzie them.
It's great to hear that! Using the UTMs, you'll be able to tell which post brought traffic to your site. If you just want to know if they came from specific social media, then you don't need the UTMs. GA4 should know.
@@clicksdontlie I created them but can't find them in Google Analytics. I would think so too but I ran socials for a Spa and I feel like it's not really capturing the traffic coming from Instagram and Facebook.
if you need help just email me to robert (at) clicksdontlie.com with the details, I can try to help.

I think the test from Barefoot is not the best test to use as an example. The version on the right has just one radio button, so at first glance there seems to be no 'way out', which can scare some users away. The version on the left has multiple radio buttons, so the user will feel more in control and will probably be more likely to stay long enough to read the "(Optional)" text. The test is not only about the Hobson's +1 effect because of users' expectations about radio buttons.
Thanks for taking the time to write Sjoerd. I actually ran exactly the same test as on barefoot (btw it's not what they do, I added it) on another website and it worked better when there were 2 options. And there was no difference in conversions, but huge increase in signups. The big difference is that the checkbox was not selected by default in my test. In this my example was a bit misleading. That said your hypothesis could be true. But It's worth running a test for your case and making sure it's a checkbox instead of radio button.
@@clicksdontlie Nice! That should be more reliable. Thanks for your response!
I want to asked, if i add metrics like key events and add to carts in the search results report, it shows 0 events, 0 key events and 0 add to carts, which is not possible. Does it not track the journey from a search result to a purchase? what am i missing here. Anyway, keep these videos coming, learning so much here.
Just tried to create a similar report as you did, but it doesn't work for me either. No idea why this is an issue for GA4 to show, seems logical question to me.

Why Advertising/All channels performance report has a discrepancy in comparison to Traffic/Acquisition reports? It would be great if you could create a video on Advertising and the new Google Ads reports.
Hi Johnny, good idea! There are a few different reasons for it, here are the biggest (I think). Mostly it is that Google Ads have higher numbers than GA4. Here are top reasons for this: 1. People use ad blockers or browsers that block scripts, so they block your GA4 from firing. From my experience, this can be anywhere from 10%-25% of all your visitors. 2. Google Ads are clicked by bots (Google has protections, but they are not always perfect) 3. People click on ads, but don't accept your cookie policy (and GA4 script is not fired) 4. People click on ads, but never make it to your site (slow loading or they just closed the browser quickly.) 5. Your attribution model is set to first click attribution in GA4, more about this here: support.google.com/analytics/answer/10596866?hl=en I hope this helps!
Oh yeah, what can you do about these? 1. You can use server side tracking - this will reduce ad blocker influence 2. Use software services that help you avoid bots 3. Not much you can do about this 4. Also this is hard to address, one thing to do is to make sure your ads are relevant 5. Look at the first click acquisition reports
@@clicksdontlie Thanks! I'm aware that Google Ads and GA4 will always show different numbers as they are working in a different way. I was talking about the difference between Standard session report and Advertising report. In GA4, the revenue data is different for each report. For example, in Traffic Acquisition>Session report the revenue is 100k, but if I go to Advertising report and filter for the same Default channel grouping, the revenue is 90k. It seems like those Advertising reports are using different attribution models. Our default attribution is Data driven.
Thanks helpful
Glad it helped!

We have PHP website and want to track contact form conversion or may be thank you page. How can we do it. Thanks
Hi Muhammed, you can use Google Tag Manager (GTM) and create a data layer event on form submission. You can do this with JS directly in GTM or add the datalayer push through PHP. GTM takes a bit longer to set up, but it will be easier later to install other tracking and also any ad platforms like facebook or google. Here is an intro video about GTM: ruclips.net/video/Us8CXant1M4/видео.html&pp=ygUSZ29vZ2xlIHRhZyBtYW5hZ2Vy
@@clicksdontlie Thanks for your time. I will try to create data layer event on form submission. Lets see if I can do it
It means GA has 1000 of reports. I never knew. Thanks for positive contribution
Glad this helped you!
Can I edit your RUclips videos?
thanks for the offer, but I'm okay to do it myself.
At 7:55 there's a record of: "Google Unisex Eco Tee Black" with 0 views, 4 added to cart, but 118 items purchased. I see this in my reports too. What's the explanation for this? Doesn't make sense to me.
I think it's just a naming difference between different pages. So on the product page (data layer) it's named something like "Google Unisex Eco T-Shirt Black" and on purchase (datalayer) it's named "Google Unisex Eco Tee Black". I've seen this before with my clients as well. You either make sure it's all exactly the same, or you can view the same report by product ID. Usually, those are the same.
@@clicksdontlie Thanks for replying
thanks for the information!
No problem!
Hi Robert, thank you for this. How would you calculate the Purchase rate in "Cohort_Cal"? For me everything appears as 0. Is it the same as number of orders?
Hi Maria, thanks for the question, because it made me realize that Cohort_Cal was looking at wrong fields. I've updated the sheet with correct formula. This is the formula it should have (on row 2) =IF(B2="";"";IFERROR(COUNTIF($B$2:B;B2);"")) And then drag it down for other fields. That said, I think Cohort_Cal column is not used in other calculations. I hope this helps! :)
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
