In 1977 when I was in my twenties a friend and myself drove the Alaska highway from California to Alaska in a Ford truck with a camper on it. along the way we found some construction and there were two D9 parked there we spent the night at that location and as we relax we realize the keys were in those dozers we started one up and drove it around pushed around a little dirt took some pictures and it is something I will never forget I am 70 years old now and often think about driving that monster machine around a dirt lot in Alaska so the end of the long story is I will always love the D9

I ran a D9 for a while. That would be my choice 😊

When in New Zealand they built the Waitaki hydro scheme the Cat D8 and Cat D9 were thrones you could depend on,all had to be imported from the USA in large numbers,the job would nothave been completed without these machines.

The best dozer was the Cat D8G and then the improved the CatD8 H.
