We would like to thank Mayor Roy and the Council of the Corporation of The Town of Whitby for proclaiming January 29, 2024 as Durham Region Hospice Awareness Day! Mayor Roy presented Hospice Whitby Chair Eva Reti with the proclamation prior to the flag raising ceremony.

On March 22, 2023, Durham Region Hospice - Whitby announced the official name of its new hospice residence as Hospice Whitby - Roger Anderson House. A group of developers raised $2 million for its construction and named it in honor of former Regional Chair Roger Anderson.
