Old car renovation, back seat upholstery.
Просмотров 104Год назад
After pricing up the cost of reupholstering the seats I decided to try myself. I bought a sewing machine and watched RUclips videos on how to do it….. it might not be perfect but it’s good enough for a first attempt by a novice, I’ve been sewing for about 3 weeks now here’s the result.

Just like most other people I woke up one day and thought today I’m going to make a Snakeboard. A longboard style skateboard being eaten by a huge snake. It’s really just going to be a piece of art but does it actually work? well, yes I designed it to look like it was passing through the wood underneath where I stand so maybe I’ll make another video of me riding it.

Upgrading the peddle to propeller spins gear ratio on my DIY Miniboat, peddle boat.

A few years back I made this mini-boat, it’s peddle powered but just seems to easy to peddle. I’m going to try and increase the peddle to propeller spin ratio without making it to hard which could put too much torque through the angle grinder head used to convert the direction of the turn from chain sprockets to propeller drive shaft. If I can manage to achieve that then next week I’ll take it ...

      Hello, sorry only just seen this. I didn’t receive any notification….. As for the plans unfortunately they were very basic and I had to change a lot of stuff as I went along. If I was making it again I would make the fins a little smaller and add them separately after making a box section body. I incorporated the fins into the box section on this build and that meant a lot of work with compound angles. Something I struggled with a bit. If you make one use a minimum 16mm bar for the rear axle as the 12mm I used worked but was right on the limit. Good luck

    Bought a rifle slingshot from China, poorly made, Laser is identical to yours (Different name) and is a red dot, supplied with no add-ons no box or battery. The red dot sight is a complete waste of time as it's only effective in low light/night or less than 10 meters away. The best way to be more accurate is box the laser and target manual. Better grouping and more accurate to around 15 meters but I only use clay shot. If ball bearings were used the range would increase and accuracy. But don't forget the elastic as that controls your power. Good luck

    That oven would work in Germany, but only in summer and only for cooking. I also started with ovens like this, but if you seriously want to use the sun for cooking you need something bigger. My current setup can reach up to 200°C on hot days which means I can roast and bake, with less sunshine or in winter I'm still able to boil water, cook soups, stews etc.

    10:16 this is no way the same piece you cut by your lines made at 9:29. The way you drawn your 45 line from the center would make the right wing of this piece go above the horizontal line of the bottom piece when turned to right, because your 45 line crosses the real center. I hope you understand what I mean.

    • @Know-Expert
      @Know-Expert Год назад

      Hello @atenik you are correct the 45 degree line does pass through the centre. However if you notice the horizontal line has been scratched out and a new line drawn below it. If you draw a 90 degree line from the centre of the circle on the scratched out horizontal line down until it meets the new cutting line you will find that the 45 degree line does not pass through the pivot point. You can see the finished result at 13.05 where the 45 degree lines pass each side of the pivot points. You were correct to notice that had I cut it along that line the side would indeed have been above the horizontal. Its not easy making and editing videos and sometimes little explanations get missed out. You can see that it works in the follow up video I did. Thanks for watching.

    • @atexnik
      @atexnik Год назад

      @@Know-Expert thank you for the explanation. Yes, I did notice you cut below the horizontal line, but only for the left of center side. The right side still runs though the center along the 45 line, doesn't it? Maybe my imagination is tricking me. Are you sure you didn't extra cut the right side to make it below the horizont of the bottom piece? I will make a model from cardboard today to check my theory.

    • @Know-Expert
      @Know-Expert Год назад

      @@atexnik once you make your piece and you cut the horizontal below like I did in the video you will see how even though the 45 degree line passes through the centre (pivot point) that the actual corner where the horizontal and 45 degree pieces meet is now below and to the right of the centre. Then when the box the saw sits in is tilted to 45 degrees the part sits flush with the bottom of the table its in. It took me ages to draw and get it right and it was only by making it that i finally understood it. Thats when I decided to make the video. Have a go with some old bits of wood and let me know how you get on. Thanks again.

    • @atexnik
      @atexnik Год назад

      @@Know-Expert hi. I made two pieces from a paper, and as I predicted, the top piece raises above the horizontal line of bottom line as soon as I tilt it to the right. Now, to fix it, I just had to shift the 45 line left of center. Are you sure you didn't do that as well? I checked with other similar projects with plans, and the 45 line is going as left of center, so that when tilted, it doesn't go above the hor. line.

    • @Know-Expert
      @Know-Expert Год назад

      @@atexnik I had to just re watch all the video to find out why you think I changed the pieces. Its the same piece but listen to what I say at 10.05. I say I’ve just cut the pieces to 45 degrees. Now take a look and you will see its the same piece but its just had the thickness of the table trimmed off both sides. Now I understand why you think its a different piece and why you think it will rise above the horizontal. On the video you actually see the scribbled out horizontal line but the 45 degree line must be drawn on the opposite hand piece. I then placed them back to back to make them exactly the same. They honestly are the same pieces I made. I have nothing to gain and everything to lose by cheating viewers. Any mistakes are editing faults and are not intended to mislead viewers. I have another video of my electric scooter and in the video I make a mistake with the speed controller. It would have been very easy to just speed up the film to me it look good but instead I actually explain this and say that I do not like to mislead viewers. Watch the video again and you will see that when I said I have trimmed them to 45 degrees I did this by trimming the thickness of my table off both the horizontal and 45 degree lines and not changing the pieces. Do this with your paper template and you will see the pivot point is exactly where the blade passes through the surface of your table no matter how thick the table is. I hope this is the proof you need to see I’m no cheat! Thanks again though for such a keen eye and all your interest. Happy new year. Know Expert I’m glad I finally

      @@Know-Expert I haven't! I will check it out. My only question is how long is it from buttstock to the end of the Rifle?

    Nice. I looked at this design the other day on another video. I'm researching before I build a solar oven that will bake/cook outdoors at 25-32 fahrenheit to extend solar cooking here in the Rocky Mountains here in Colorado.

      Steve, this design is good but I mainly built it because I think it looks better than a box type for RUclips views. If it’s for efficiency I recommend the box type with four mirrors. They get hotter as the mirrors reflect all together into the center. That said mine reaches 106 c and anything over 80 c (I’m sure it’s 80 or thereabouts) will cook food but it just takes a bit longer. Also the lack of extra mirrors on mine means I have to adjust the angle every now and again to have direct sunlight. Look through my other videos and you can see me using it. Thanks for watching I appreciate it. Good luck with your build. Know Expert

    Interesting but I think the wood inside the box leads cold in/heat out.I think it should be insulated on the inside too.I made a sodacan solar heater and used insulating material with metal foil surface and painted it black.Have to test this up here in Finland.👍

      Hi Lex, when it comes to making things for the first time I’m no Superman, he he, but yeah since making this I’ve added steel plates to the interior and painted them black. They get super hot and even if I open the oven to remove something the hot steel retains the heat. Thanks for watching my video. Know Expert
