Dont understand the bias... full on the right side is only Germanium??
Sounds like the 'money for nothing' tone. Nice!
Coast Highway. Santa Monica.
So i just got the Geisha.sounds like this to me.
Love Landau! The pedal, not for me.
Mike is the man! Great pedal, great sound!!!
You guys need to get more content on here! I have the Budi G and Shanks OD and they are awesome! Thatpedalshow did a great demo of this on Friday :)
I was sceptical when this video popped up in my recommendations. As a reflex I thought "cash-grab", "hype" and similar things. Sure, ML can make a broom sing, but this pedal sounds astounding, creating an instant skank face. Worth every penny, congratulations!
Equally skeptical, then I remembered I have a Jan-Ray which is just unreal. So I give Vemuram the benefit of the doubt.
@@doubled5383 I am very pleased with the LP Tchula, but this seems like no bs
Well, I bought the SD9 sometime in the late 80s/early 90s….still have it and love it….
Well that was lovely
it´s so inspiring to hear ML with overdrive, he sounds different no matter which pedal or guitar he is using.
Michael Landau could play a Squier with a Behringer pedal and it would sound as good as those expensive pedal, what you can not buy is Mr. Landau's unique talent.
Only Michael Landau could make a very mediocre tone such as this sound so epically musical
Interesting to call his tone "very mediocre" though....
@@PedalPoopers Too much is made of " tone", and the reason is, you can sell "tone" in the form of equipment , but you cant sell talent, artistry and uniqueness .I don't think it's a good or bad tone, not like SRV or Jimi Hendrix best moments ,but Landau is such a great player and he plays great music.
Incredible Mike. Stellar tone as usual my friend
Alright, Daddy
$400 retail and reverb scalpers are selling for $6,000 y’all are out of your minds if you think selling this repackaged Maxon SD-9
I've been a fan of Michael Landau's playing for long, and this pedal seems to capture his signature sound perfectly🙌
I first bought an SD9 back in the early 80s, and it became "my sound" for a long time. I had no idea that it was also so important to Mr. Landau (and it was always dismissed by others as inferior to the TS9, etc.), so when I found out I was excited and also bought this Butter Machine immediately when it became available. Thank you all so much!
Tito get me some tissue! Incredible
Vemuram, move the trim pot to the front of the pedal face with controls plus use Top Jacks. its hard to troubleshooting bad patch cables pedals with sidejacks
I have the Jan Ray, Shanks, Budi G and Myriad fuzz...bloomin brilliant pedals; only one drawback though, I'm now broke.
Hype level: TO THE MOON!!!!
I just wish the price wasn’t insane. Otherwise cool stuff.
tried the Maxon SD9: didnt fit my board pedals AT ALL...: BUTT: LOVING : MXR Fet Driver!( bought 2 for 200€, discontinued...):Warm Jazz tones..., also loving the Wampler Euphoria: soo versatile cause its hi headroom: I have the vol about 9 oclock...!(( both Fet Driver n Euphoria can be set from warm cleans to higher gain, which is a sign of a marvellous pedal: low it melts with your base tone, and then you can gradually tweak it more toward gainier tones...)) My utmost always on first in chain ped is Mad Professor Simble: I have lots of drives after it, but if I stomp it off the tone slackens away, and its not even ina specificly warm setting, go figure! Mysterious are them ways of the guitar pedals! I also recommend Joyo Taichi( very close to Hermida Zendrive), VERTEX Dynamic Distortion(seafoam color) and DOD Looking Glass..., all very dynamic! CHEERS from Kimmo
can't get enough of hearing Landau playing... thanks for the video!
Are your pedals all original designs?
Greatness! Very cool vibe on the demo. Look forward to giving the Butter Machine a churn.... ; )
My favorite guitar player. I’m getting one.
Is the video at 3:07 Mike's studio ? Or is it Vemuram facilities ?
I absolutely love it. Dynamic and open, with a quality of grind I've never heard in another pedal. Worth every penny.
That's how the sd9 is lol
@@0megalul309 I get that. I have both. The SD-9 sounds boxy in comparison. At least in my rig.
@@spiltmilk615 most Vemuram users have cheap amps cos they spend all their money on pedals
LOVE it
👍👍👍

神!!
the best pedal I ever Had
How temperature sensitive is this pedal? Does it help that it has silicon transistors too?
The need for a screwdriver to adjust the bias is holding me back from buying this.
If you are lucky enough to afford this you can buy a screwdriver😀
That's significantly more money than a sunface
Best fuzz in the world!
So not made for lower bedroom levels?
Just got mine a couple of weeks ago and I love it. Sold my King Tone Ge Mini Fuzz and don’t regret it at all. This is way better. I also own the TSV808 and Jan Ray and they are 3 of the best pedals I’ve ever owned and I’ve sold over 75 pedals I’m the last year alone.
😂
I love the pedal and I’ll probably buy one. However, I feel compelled to say that the audio quality in this video does a great disservice to both your product and to Josh Smith.
Do you still have or use deep trip bog fuzz ?
No good! Sound to woofy, undefined, mushy and wooly in a bad way! You can get those sounds out of any fuzz and pay 1/5 of the money or less. Bunch of features and still bad tone... Not even god playing helps bad tone...(Josh=god, Pedal=not so much) 460 bucks or 460 euro....realy....whaaaat.... Jesus...... And who else is playing amp at 1 (volume) and then kick the pedal at 10.....? 4:14 to 4:20 when he kick the pedal in...
right right... and Josh Smith, the guys from that pedal show don't know anything about fuzz pedals and them saying that this is one of the best fuzzes don't mean anything right. people who don't understand or like fuzz complain like you. i guess doyle bramhall's tone sucks too hun? Jimi's tone sucks too.
I think the quality of the video/audio could have been better. Josh Smith is all about dynamics, and I’m sure he wouldn’t promote a fuzz that was woofy and one-dimensional like most fuzzes are.
I want it so bad but I'd have to sell half my pedalboard to buy it 😭😭 I understand it's quality stuff and it's worth every penny but I'll just have to drool for now.
i ve been living the same nightmare.. im selling 2 pedals that i NEED and im willing to pay extra hahaha
We’re in the same boat😅
Is there anything else in the signal chain besides the fuzz? Mine doesn't get nearly that saturated by a long shot! I thought it'd be more saturated on its own.
After some experimentation time are you still facing the same dilemma?... or have you resolved the lack of saturation mentioned?
Are you playing as loud with heavy gauge strings and the same pickups? Fuzz’s are very discerning and even a slight difference in input volume will result in a different tone
@@seansrecords Hey guys, thanks for replying! I've discovered how sensitive fuzz pedals can be since posting this comment. I'm definitely not using the same gear (strings gauges, guitar, pickups, etc.) as Josh in this video. Hence the drastic difference in reaction. To achieve the same level of saturation I've placed a Jan Ray after the fuzz. Problem solved! Thanks for the insight!! Take care!
Christian Davis yep Jan Ray is a great pedal after fuzzes as it simulates a cranked amp if you aren’t already playing into a pushed amp (which most of us aren’t usually) Fuzzes sound great when you get them where you want , I usually get one - get sick of messing with it and sell it , I’m due to pick one up again soon as I haven’t had one for a while... I’m looking at this one and the Dandrive Austin Pride which is a clone of SRVs fuzz face that his tech modded . Glad you got the tone you wanted anyway !!
@@seansrecords Delving into the world of fuzz has been a great learning experience! I settled on the Kingtone Ge Mini Fuzz. Check out the Pedal Pawn Fuzz. It's a Cesar Diaz Square Face clone. Sounds fantastic!! I have one. The clean up is incredible!!
What sounds good playing alone, at bedroom volumes is so different than what works on stage with a full band, even at just small to medium club volumes, and I wish more gear reviews and demos made this distinction. Love that Josh does.
There's bedroom volume. There's gig volume. And then there's Josh volume. I suspect the there are only a handful of people who will be able to get the tone Josh gets. There is so much going on, his hands, his volume, string gauge. This is not your typical review or guitar player. This video is not for everyone.
What does the bigger myriad pedal do besides the fuzz?
Espresso-maker
Questo effetto è magnifico
Had mine for two weeks. Wow. Great sounding pedal. Tons of versatility. Love it
Had?
Wow... That pedal kills!
