Fun little patch while learning the Make Noise 0-Ctrl. The 0-Ctrl is triggering and sequencing the Intellijel Plonk, which is making all the percussive sounds. Tip-Top Buchla modules are providing the bass.

Getting back to some generative patches. (GH012536)

Generative music refers to a system or method that automatically or semi-automatically creates music. It often involves the use of algorithms, artificial intelligence, or procedural generation techniques. The core idea is to set up a system that can produce music on its own, or with minimal human intervention. Tiptop Buchla modules plus XAOC Belgrad and Moskwa, Make Noise Maths, etc. (GH012536)

      @ganglestank 8 месяцев назад

      @@ububox2087 what is “orange” exactly? You cannot describe a sensory experience without comparing it to another one. Jazz is music that has the qualities of jazz.

      @user-yv6xw7ns3o 8 месяцев назад

      @@ganglestank Interesting that you've presented "jazz" this way. Impressively solid attempt at not defining a very definable term at all, when given the simplest question one could be asked about the subject at hand... The word "jazz" can easily be defined in more than one way, and there are numerous definitions available within a few seconds reach for anyone accessing this here video. Also, given the context of the usage of the word "jazz" in the video title and the nature of the music contained within this video, one would reasonably surmise that the author intended the meaning of "jazz" to denote a specific flavor or subcategory of the broad term "jazz", which would be: "free jazz". The creator of this video has said as much themselves in a separate comment (and in the video title itself). What you seem to have meant in your comments is the much more common usage of the term "jazz", such as this one from Wikipedia, which indicates a relatively specific set of historical, cultural, and sonic characteristics of the genre which you seemingly were unable to describe: "Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with its roots in blues and ragtime. Since the 1920s Jazz Age, it has been recognized as a major form of musical expression in traditional and popular music. Jazz is characterized by swing and blue notes, complex chords, call and response vocals, polyrhythms and improvisation. Jazz has roots in European harmony and African rhythmic rituals." Free Jazz (again from Wikipedia, one of the many things you might want to check out more if you'd like to avoid seeming like a person who doesn't understand the words they're trying to use): "Free jazz or Free Form in the early- to mid-1970s is a style of avant-garde jazz or an experimental approach to jazz improvisation that developed in the late 1950s and early 1960s when musicians attempted to change or break down jazz conventions, such as regular tempos, tones, and chord changes. Musicians during this period believed that the bebop and modal jazz that had been played before them was too limiting, and became preoccupied with creating something new. The term "free jazz" was drawn from the 1960 Ornette Coleman recording Free Jazz: A Collective Improvisation. Europeans tend to favor the term "free improvisation". Others have used "modern jazz", "creative music", and "art music"... The ambiguity of free jazz presents problems of definition. Although it is usually played by small groups or individuals, free jazz big bands have existed. Although musicians and critics claim it is innovative and forward-looking, it draws on early styles of jazz and has been described as an attempt to return to primitive, often religious, roots. Although jazz is an American invention, free jazz musicians drew heavily from world music and ethnic music traditions from around the world. Sometimes they played African or Asian instruments, unusual instruments, or invented their own. They emphasized emotional intensity and sound for its own sake, exploring timbres.." This might help you avoid this dilemma of appearing profoundly underequipped in future conversations about "jazz".
