Loving Peeta gave Snow more ammunition against Katniss, especially once Prim was removed from his reach. He wasn't about to have another Johanna on his hands, who's family were killed when threatening her didn't work, and then have no one left to manipulate her with. Even if he thought she wasn't in love with Peeta yet, he was sure he could engineer her feelings towards that way to give him that other pressure point. Having known ties that could be used against you was not good if you were anyone but Snow.

I'm not really happy because, I wanted to see totally all new tributes who were closer to katnisses era as I want to see Panem in the glitz and wonder we saw in the first couple Hunger Games, not the sort of broke down dreary one we saw in songbirds and snakes...and as the Haymitch ones will be set probably 25 years before Katnises I suspect its still going to be a shadow of what I want to see. plus, unless they do de aging effects I will be taken out of the movie by how different the actor looks from woody harrelson but...I cherish any new hunger games

The thing is, the Hunger Games stories are almost all about the women, even when what we're told is that it's about a man. The original trilogy is obviously about Katniss, but it's also important to note that even when the story focuses on Peeta or Gale, it's never actually about Peeta or Gale. And this is also true of Songbirds - that may have been from Snow's perspective, but it wasn't his story. It was always about Lucy; Snow was just the unreliable narrator of her story

Streaming sadly does make it harder to give a show a chance in the first season as when shows like Parks and Rec were out, but we'll see. But it does fascinate me that every adaptation of Percy Jackson has, at least for me, failed to get that balance of humor and seriousness right from the books. The movies and the show are a little too serious (though the show is an improvement) while the musical leans more into the wacky elements, making the serious moments a little out of nowhere. Who'd have thought that would be so tricky?

I think the main reason that district 11 has strong tributes is because working in the fields would likely make them much stronger. The reason they dont win as much is probably because they aren't trained in combat and some of the tributes will be smaller and weaker (like Rue). Its also partially because 11 is a poorer district, so the tributes are less well fed.

I love the way you went through this! Another thing is when he is mad at Katniss for her actions with Peeta even though.. it was for survival. And I love how you put all the romance to the side and how he went through it because when everyone hears Gale hate they think it’s just because they chose Peeta but it’s more to that and I definitely think you described that perfectly.

Hi, I was wondering if you could do a video on if Katniss loved Peeta. We all know she did but I mean if she didn’t only love him for the feeling of safety that he gives her or that he is the only one to love since Gale is no longer in the picture. And if she ever thought of Peeta how Peeta thought of her as beautiful, or loved him for is charm . The only reason I ask this is because I watched some other videos and people take it in this way and I don’t fully believe it but it is in the back of my mind.

I also don't think that the games happened in the end. I can't see Paylor, from what little we know of her character, approving them. Paylor is a rebel commander, clearly, she is not above killing and she must hold a huge amount of anger towards the Capitol elite after what was done to eight. But we also know that Katniss likes her, as a person, more than Coin. Also, while it's a movie-only addition, her speeches in Mockingjay: Part 2 didn't really give "a person overcome with vengeance". Nor was she someone who just wanted power, like Coin. She was on the ground, with her people. All the context clues we get show that no, Paylor wouldn't want to even consider, let alone approve of another Hunger Games.

I loved Katniss and Joanna's relationship in mj. I thought it was so sweet! I also really wish they added Haymitch falling off the stage at the reaping (I love Haymitch and think that is another little comedic relief moment in the book)

I was thinking about this the other day! Even if there had not been a rebellion building, which obviously there was, Haymitch also would naturally be more capable of persuading sponsors because he has more connections and experience than Peeta. What the sponsors send helped them a lot in the quarter quell.
