Imma be honest, red calling in the ref after almost every double hit was annoying. Not a practitioner, he could have been right every time (all be it, ref didn't seem to agree single time) but from a viewer perspective it's annoying. That and the fact that safe hits aren't a thing, so the fighters are incentivized to trade blows if they think they can score better point blow, which reminds me of Olympic rapier and that's not compliment.

I'm using myself one hand spamming, but i fear it need to be dealt with by rules, its not very sexy and quality wise i find often the hit shouldnt be taken in account by the refere as the sword isnt even banding its not op, or hard to counter, just not gonna help hema grow as ppl come in for cool cut and nice blow and clearly blue is very stronger than yellow imo, not judging at all and saying he only know one hand attack btw

Yellow had the more honest technique in his cuts and thrusts. I liked how he didn’t treat the bout like lightsabre tag.

Is this the kind of ruleset where you can negate an opponents point by quickly scoring one yourself. So that kamikaze attacks like in karate kumite don't work. I heard about this system in Hema but couldn't find anything about it
