In the SC Lowcountry they used a smaller red pea called a cow pea for this. Black Eyed peas are a separate dish on the New Years menu.
Cowpea and blackeyed peas are the same thing. They are sometimes smaller

Lol hey, no the milk was actually fine, and was risinggggg quick. Ideally I was supposed to let it sit for 2 hours after the first round of feeding but I aint got time for all that sometimes!
