An afternoon of watching huge flocks of sandhill cranes and geese with the mountains as a backdrop at Monte Vista National Wildlife Refuge. It was also a full moon rising which adds to the magic of the season.
Colorado Fall Colors 2022

Highlights of the transition from green of late summer to the gold of the early fall in Colorado shot over 9 days. We didn't have a specific plan. Rather, we had some destinations and from there we followed the color. In some cases we had to double back to places we had been because colors hadn't changed yet. It's amazing to see the varied landscapes across Colorado.

Cub Took my GoPro

A grizzly bear cub noticed a GoPro camera and took it away with him. That wasn't the plan. He played with it for more than an hour. Most of the video is very choppy since the cub was tossing around the camera. So, I took the best clips and assembled here.

From what I understand, anyone can sign up to participate in the drive as well. Talk about needing your riding butt! 30 miles the first day alone!
True. There are fees involved, but yes, any rider can join.

Yes. They have been wintering free on BLM lands. The intent of the drive is to gather and bring back to the ranch where they are checked out, cleaned-up, etc.
What a crock! More 'cowboys' than horses. Way too much yeehaa for a real operation. Music for Star Wars maybe. And the mustangs out of the wild are shod! Puhlease!
These are not wild horses. This is a real horse drive moving horse herd on winter BLM pastures back to the main ranch 60 miles away.

These are not wild horses. All owned by Sombrero Ranches. But they winter on BLM land where there are also some wild/feral horses.
