A good example of why you really want to stick to tube amps with guitars. They shape and form the sound beautifully, while solid state and digital both are always lacking headroom to start with. Tubes live with the sound, the other does not.

Hi. Does the Luxor have a soundpost? I have a Japanese 'Sakura' which looks very similar but with the Gibson style open book headstock shape. The Sakura has a post and fake humbuckers!

Thank you for posting this. So it should be said: I love the Roland Cubes and bought a Cube 60 used when I was in my mid 20s living in Chicago. I sold that amp at 30 on my way out of the city and started buying tube amps including the Fender Twin, Blues Junior, and other Tube Pre things. I get it - they're great... but ultimately the Cube won out and I bought TWO Cube 60s a few years ago that were just like my old one and I trade off with one as a "practice" amp and the other as the gigging amp and tell myself that if I ever needed a 212 I could bring both with a quality ABY. I know the Katana is basically the next generation and they're great... but if I ever wanted/needed another amp, I'd just buy a Katana head and a closed back cab to get the feel of my Cubes. They're not just great for the money - they are excellent. Plus the Cube has a wonderful recording and line out so, really, I don't need a 212 when there's a great FOH mixer. I feed the amp to them and get as loud as I want with the amp being my personal monitor. Something most Tube amps don't really offer. Long live the Cubes.

The Peerless really does sound great unplugged. Mic it like an acoustic with a good condenser and I bet it would go to "tape" very close to a purpose built acoustic.
