Aldo Nova Fantasy
Rock the River Saskatoon 2024. The song that everyone was waiting to hear, all day!! You have to watch until the end when the bass player starts flinging his bass around, haha, love it. I'm glad I caught that.

Rock the River Saskatoon 2024. Another classic Great White tune that I remember from my youth! Good job Brett Carlisle and band mates!

Rock the River Saskatoon 2024. This was the final song of their set and the final song of Rock the River. I saw Great White back in 89 when they opened up for Alice Cooper's Trash Tour. The personnel has changed quite a bit, but the songs remain the same :) *that is NOT me singing along with the lead singer. My mouth is shut when I'm recording.

Rock the River Saskatoon 2024. Unfortunately, the mic lost power during this song and we (the audience) couldn't really hear most of the vocals from young Brett Carlisle. When it finally did come back on, it was very quiet for about the next 4 songs.

Rock the River Saskatoon 2024. These poor guys not only lost some gear and wardrobe, they were also the victims of some pretty bad sound early on in the night. Vocal mic needed to be cranked with a little more effects, for sure. It took about 6 songs in to finally rectify the problem. With all that to deal with , they still put on a great white show!
Prism with Toque Armageddon

Rock the River Saskatoon 2024. Now this, was fun to watch. Prism joined on stage by members of Toque as well as Michelle Truman from the band Toronto. I'm guessing they had just played at Rockin the Kootenay's? Sounded really freakin great gang!!

Great Cover. If I didn't know better,I would think this was AC himself singing as the vocals are spot on.
@@michelleo6790 thank you🙏. It was 7 years of fun and hard work.
Kat Lawrence tries to do a good job singing Darby Mills songs, and ya have to give her credit! But if you want to hear the one and only Darby Mills sing these songs, she is still out there with the Darby Mills Project Band, check it out!
I still have that Gowen cassette tape you gave me….. love it
Luv it ii was there
It's the highlight of my summer
I'm impressed with how accurate the clavinet sound on that keyboard is. Also, well played!
Ian Thomas is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. From a guy who enjoys Alice Cooper and a lot of other heavy stuff, Ian Thomas' music takes me back to highschool.
Terrible audience. Talking, laughing, walking, not respecting and not listening to this legend.
Right?! This was my last year sitting in the cheap seats. I moved up and into pit in the coming years.
Gino bravissimo come sempre ma l'accompagnamento musicale è orribile.
Well, it's the band he chose.
IAN THOMAS = BEST FUCKIN' ENTERTAINER EVER!!!!!! He & The McKenzie Brothers (Rick "Bob" Moranis & Dave "Doug" Thomas--the latter's Ian's real-life older brother) r DEFINITELY ENTERTAINMENT ROYALTY!!!!! PLEASE RESPECT & HONOR THEM AS SUCH!!!!!
He is definitely Canadiana at it's finest.
@@muzakman2985 Absolutely!!!!!! Though I'm from Detroit, MI, USA (a stone's throw away from Windsor, ONT, CAN); I've always had an affinity 4 Canadian musicians. Ian Thomas leads the way
This song definitely epitomizes my childhood. Along w/"Strange Brew" (his brother Dave's movie).
What shocked me was that Dave is actually the older brother. I always thought Ian was the older brother.
@@muzakman2985 Yup; u learn something new everyday. BTW; Ian's 74th b-day was 4 weeks ago (7/23).
My favorite older live version. Thanks for the camera work.
Hey, you're welcome. Shortly after, I moved to the front of the pit. I was tired of holding my phone way up over my head to see over all the other heads in front of me. Plus that damned rotator cuff injury can't handle it anymore. What a drag it is getting old.
Good job Prism 🥳❤️💙💚💜🧡
Yes, they still manage to sound good.
Jeeezuz people we old we aint dead!!! Get up and shake yer shit...awesome tune..awesome band..awesome times..
Haha, yes I agree. I moved the whole recording thing into the pit in about 2021. The sound isn't quite as good as back by the sound tent, but the video is 100% better.
seen them 3 times. had a great time each time.
Just saw them again this past Friday! Minus the great Ronnie King :(
no darby =no headpins
Well she quit so I could care less about her. The music continues on.
@@muzakman2985 they didnt exactly make it easy for her to stay
I saw them twice in their late 70's heyday and they were amazing. Now they're essentially a cover band with no original members. Even so they should do their best to copy the original and appease their fans.
Yup, you're right! I saw them headline a show with Loverboy ((doing their first big tour). Al Harlow is the closest to original as you can get. He came on board for the See Forever Eyes album and wrote quite a few of the tunes. He's now the guitarist and lead vocalist. However, they do have to lower the original key in songs, just so he can sing those songs. Still, he does a pretty decent job.
@@muzakman2985 this one is in the original key 👍
Das ist so eine leiwande Band. 🎤🎤🎤🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
You should hear them now!! Rosa Laricchiuta is their new vocalist. WOW
Great post!
Thanks. Hangin out by the sound tent always gets a pretty decent sound. However, I've traded that all in to get some better video in recent years. I'm as close to the front as I can get now.
I was here!! Best show I've been to!
Yes at that point, it was the biggest and best show I'd seen too! I loved it.
@muzakman2985 I saw them again in Edmonton Last October, wasn't the same feeling unfortunately
@@TaylorDezzy that’s too bad man. I remember seeing Kiss with Buck Cherry maybe in 2005 and the best part of that show was Buck Cherry. However this farewell tour show in Saskatoon in November was the show to end all shows! So ya, bands have their off days too I guess.
All Righty Then! Here goes nothing - Youuuuu Wanted The Best! ..... Well! They couldn't make it! So you get these cartoon characters Here's the Headpins! Live! hahaha Many moons ago When I was 1 of 75-100 But! For KISS I was 1 of 150 Local Concert Working Crew & I was also 1 of only 8 Local Concert Show Call Stage Hand Working Crew & I worked as a Local Stage Hand for all major concerts That were held at Saskatchewan Place in Saskatoon Sask Canada & as a Working Stage Hand I worked for bands like KISS Aerosmith- Alice Cooper - Cheap Trick - Van Halen - Poison - Motley Crue - Cheap Trick - ZZ Top - AC/DC - KORN - Pantera - GWAR - Toby Keith - The Foo Fighters - Cher - Reba - Brooks & Dunn - Dwight Yokum &! of course For Canada's very own Headpins! & as a Working Stage Hand I worked a 3 way indoor concert With the Headpins as the opening act & then it was Vince Neil of Motley Crue & then the main act Poison! So in present time Some time in the last year or so Darby Mills facebook friended me & cause I'm a wanna be hobbyist drummer I decided That I'd try & drum to A Headpins top 10 hit So I went on RUclips & I was looking for a Headpin's Top 10 hit! Or maybe 2 That I may be able To drum to & as I'm watching a LIVE outdoor event & on stage was the Headpins I almost immediately noticed! That that's not Darby mills singing! On the stage & then the camera closes in some That's when I knew That that's not Darby Mills! & the lady lead singer Almost looked like A friend of mine Who's a Kelowna B.C. resident Who I haven't seen In many years As I knew Kat When I lived in Kelowna B.C. Some 20 + years & the more I looked The more I thought That that lady's physic & her looks Looked an awful lot! Like my friend Kat So I watched some more & as the camera closes in I can now see That it sure looks An awful lot Like my friend Kat So I googled the Headpins & wahla! There's Kat Lawrence's name So you know! I had to facebook my friend Kat & I just thought I'd say Way To Friggin' Goooooo Kat! Very proud! Of you Kat! & I'm pretty sure! That it was! A thrill! Of a lifetime! For my friend Kat Lawrence As the lead singing lady For the Headpins & now a days Kat is on a new singing journey & I wish Kat Nothing! But the greatest success! In her singing journey & maybe! Just maybe! One day! Kat may need A new drummer Or a pitch hit drummer A stand in drummer & that drummer May possibly be me! Hahaha So I'm a crossin' me fingers! & me toes as well! Hahaha & Kat & the Headpins sounded Pretty good to me! I'd definitely sneak in/climb the fence To watch this live music happenin' I would I would Hahaha
Hey man, sorry to take forever in responding. I'm a real procrastinator when it comes to this stuff. I just use You Tube to store my music incase my hard drive dies along with all of my video. But ya, Kat seemed like a nice lady with a pretty good voice. But, I think they turfed her for Rosa Laricchiuta or she quit. Regardless, the Kat woman is gone.
Blessthisone
Sorry for the late reply, (understatement of the year). Yes, Nick always puts on a special show.
Outstanding singer
Well, she's been replaced. I've got video of the new singer from last year as well as when they opened up for Foreigner and their farewell tour. Sorry for the late reply, I never think to check the comments.
Probably didn’t need the echo on the lead vocal.
Pretty much all his songs were drowning in it. Most of it sounded good, but not all of it, that's for sure. Sound man got a little out of hand.
Thanks Cam Cam Zoller….great videos:)
Geez, I'm going to have to check these comments more than every few years! Thanks Brad Brad Miller.
First tune I ever heard by Gilder was "Hot Child In The City" back when it came out. It was a decent tune, not really my style of music, but good. Then many years later I heard this one, and it blew me away that it was a song by him. This IS my style of music, more aggressive rock. That opening riff kills, I learned to play it several years ago, it's not an easy riff to do right off the bat, I had to practice it many times over to get it right.
It’s my personal Nick Gilder favourite as well!
Still my all time favourite.
Judging by the hits on this song, it's not only your favorite! Gino really impressed me that afternoon. Sorry for the very very late reply.
very similar to Darby.
Similar, I agree. But, now she's gone. Sorry for the late response. I've gotta check the comments more often.
Awesome
Sorry for the late reply, but I agree. It was a very good show from what I remember.
Love his voice always have keep.on rocking nick
thanks for commenting. I guess I should do my job and respond to these occasionally. Sorry for the late response. Nick is a pretty nice guy. He contacted me the previous year they played when I posted Hot Child because he felt he didn't represent his material as well as he'd have liked to. He asked if I could remove that one song, and I obliged.
amazing voice
Yes, she did those songs well.
Always love seeing feet rudely in a video
Right?! Feet, heads, people rudely walking in front, or talking loudly. I moved to the pit a few years ago. The only feet I see now are the ones i notice when I'm looking down. Sorry for the late response.
Kat is the real deal, a hard working professional artist. The reformed Headpins band with original members Ab Bryant, and Bernie Aubin and great keyboards and guitars are stellar...
Sorry for the late response but ya, the Kat woman is gone now. Been replaced by Rosa Laricchiuta.
She is a fireball
Hey isn't she fabulous love love love that little Kat ❤ mmmm mmmm
she seemed like a nice lady (sorry for the late response. I know over three years, I should just not say anything at this point.)
I was there and they were soooo awesome!! I got a couple videos that I posted on my channel before my phone died lol...I miss concerts😢
I'm so embarrassed but sorry for the late response. I obviously never check my comments on this site. I honestly have never seen a band who works so hard to entertain their fans as Papa Roach. My kids had bought me tickets for fathers day that year. It was fun being in the mosh pit, that's for sure. Great show by all the bands!
Sounds like a young Darby great stuff we can take a trip back to 80s how cool
Sorry for the late response friend. Yes, Kat did sound like a young Darby but now she's been replaced by Rosa Laricchiuta. They just finished touring Canada by opening up the Foreigner Farewell Tour a couple months back. Great to see that old band rejuvenated and not just playing the Classic Rock summer festivals.
Another underr8d group from Canada. I salute the L8, GR8 Skip Prokop 4 this CLASSIC TUNE!!!!!!
Sorry for the late response. I just got to see them again this past Saturday. This time, it was within sniffing distance of the band and not the other side of the venue. Check it out if you like!
Thanks for the positive comments! Much appreciated
Gino Vannelli one of the best .Rick BRENNAN from CHANGE N PHILLY Love Peace you will always B the man.Yes! 333 🎆🎆🎆
I agree sir! It was a great set by the legend. Sorry for the late response. Obviously, I don't check the comments often enough. Many apologies.
Ill be honest...headpins had staccato intensity to the music and if your watching this you can hear it really lagging..maybe im just biased because I loved Brian's playing...But what made headpins so loved was the energy that Brian and Darby put out always and Brians tone.....Kat is a fine singer..No disrespect to Anthony but he doesnt seem to have that fire to drive the band hard like Brian...So i would agree its more like a cover band now..
I watched Darby on the Taylor James show and she kicked it out with the house band and it had way more intensity and the rawness that made the Headpins famous. The music here is the lacking point mostly, Kat does a decent job but the band sounds like a backing track with no pop to it.
Kat is struggling here with don't it make yah feel. Maybe just a bad day, who knows, but she's struggling. Struggling aside, fundamentally her voice sounds killer, and very much like Darby's to my ear. I hear what you're saying about the playing, and agree. Cheers!
mcleod was a top 5 guitar player imo.........listen to the subtleties of his playing (note bending excellence, volume swell god, harmonics, note choice)and you soon realize he was fucking BRILLIANT
Haha ha. Here I am, coming in after the game is over to offer my two bits. What a bugger hey? In case you all didn't know, Kat was replaced or she quit and was replaced by Rosa Laricchiuta. I gotta start checking my comments section, sorry y'all.
shes decent but i agree its not the same without darby
Wow, the audio is F'n awesome. No shag on the video either.
Thanks. I always situate myself in line with the sound tent. Crazy quality with an iPhone!
During the early afternoon these people do two things, buy beer and use the bathrooms. Average age is probably 60+. I hope that explains it. Ian Thomas was a huge talent and had great stories.
Yup; buy beer then form their own (home) brewery.
Why is this crowd so asleep? This is one of most awesome songs ... I love it!!!
My favorite Nick Gilder song! Kicked ass back in the day. Rock on Nick!
Class of 1986.
Well she left. So if we want to hear Headpins music this is it.
Without Darby it's just not Headpins.
You know, their entire show was fantastic that afternoon!
Better than 1986.
Love this song. Ian still sounds pretty good.
