What is this music called
Wilt the legend he in his prime would destroy in todays soft game.
As a Los Angeles Lakers Fan I should be very fortunate to see both Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar wearing the Purple and Gold as the Lakers got Kareem in a trade two years after Wilt retired in 1973. Two of the Greatest Centers in Los Angeles Lakers History!
Who is the bucks public address announcer here . He's great
The lakers won 33 games in a row! WTF is this the only one i ever seem to see on RUclips?
I had many more games posted here but youtube blocked them all. Not sure why this one was left online. I wondered about it for a long time, I tried splitting the videos just like this one but no avail.
@@noname44748 maybe it’s just one more way to try & show wilt in a bad light! (It wouldn’t be the first time!)
Mano isso é permitido?
Much Gratitude
Heavy Gratitude
They look so youNg back then
Very Old wilt vs jabber
Lucky for Jabbar
1:12
Can't stand the arrogance of Shaq on this halftime show. Keep Ernie, Chuck and Kenny but Shaq has to go
A game that will forever be Frozen in Time! The game that ended the Los Angeles Lakers 33 Game Winning Streak.
Commentators: Keith Jackson & Bill Russell.
Great crew
Commentators: Keith Jackson & Bill Russell.
Back when Shaq was likeable.
John block made acouple of allstar teams later in his career... he was one of those four guys that got punched out by Willis Reed in that big legendary fight in the 60s ..I think I reed -broke blocks nose
That Milwaukee public address announcer sounded really cool
14:00 dribble dribble dribble
Wilt was still awesome, but between age and knee surgery, though still the strongest man on the court, he had lost a lot of his speed and jumping ability. I honestly believe that if Alcindor had come into the league, when Wilt was in his prime??????
Jabber maybe wouldn:t leave locker room: early 1960s wilt?? Give wilt the ball: get out the way;; when wilt early 1960s wilt wheels toward the basket to score
He’s a badass.
Wilt was almost a decade past his prime vs Abdul-Jabbar
anyone know what this music is called ?
Its a free of copyrights song offered by RUclips.
@@noname44748 yes but what is it called
It’s a remake of Dr. Dre’s - ‘The Watcher’ from his ‘2001’ album. Thank me later ;)
MUCHCH better product on the court back then !!!
1972 WCF Kareem avg pts 33.7 202 total points in 6 games. 48% FG Total Reb. 105 in 6 games Total assists 29 in 6 games Wilt Avg pts 10.8 Total points in games 65pts 47% FG 116 total Reb in 6 games 20 total assists in 6 games. Jabbar blew him away in scoring which was expected at this stage of their careers. Kareem also got more assists and shot a slightly better % A bit surprising to Wilt groupies Chamberlain didn't have much of an edge on the boards. Kareem was able to rebound with Wilt no problem. They both played great defense. Both were the anchors for their teams. All in all Wilt did his job but Kareem dominated the series and showed the world who the best player on the planet was.
You sound like a fool.a 24 year old wilt would have devastated kareem.its not close.I'm not a groupie I'm a realist.
Wilt wasn't trying to score in 72 & 73. He played all 48 and dominated Jabbar when it mattered as the Lakers eliminated the Bucks. The visiting Milwaukee fans gave Wilt a standing O for the job he did on Kareem. Time magazine did a feature on it and wrote... "Chamberlain decisively outplayed basketball's newest giant superstar, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, eleven years his junior."
Old and knee surgery knees wilt outscore jabbar few times and knock the air out of the skyhook few times, young early 1960s wilt would have put lew alcindor in the basket, flattened the skyhook
@@lloydkline6946 A 25 year old WILT would have annihilated Kareem
Rodriguez es increible siempre espera algo Grande..el es mi favorito de los luchadores cubanos y Cuba tienes muchos
Don't forget that Wilt was 11 years older than Kareem.
Plus wilt was like 35 years old plus had knee surgery knees , he flattened the skyhook shot few time and outscore jabbar a few time too
seeing the match-ups in this game is like a dream...myth vs myth...so cool.
They played faster especially fre throws
how many times did Chamberlain play vs Kareem?? just this once???
No. The competed many times between 1970 & 1973.
cool watching Wilt vs Kareen...!..it's mythical.
Wilt was old and had knee surgery knees, was not the scoring machine;: power dunker orr the same low post offensive player like in the early 1960s wilt,;: Umpqua wilt was a legendary at blocking shot in early years 1960s
Kareem's Bucks vs Wilt's Lakers - 11 playoff games in the 1971 and 1972 playoffs, Bucks won 6 of the 11 games: Kareem: Made Attempted Field Goals 142 305 *Free Throws x 50% 21.5 31 Totals 163.5 336 True Shooting Percentage - Kareem: 163.5 / 336 = 48.7% Kareem's Points per game = 29.7 Wilt: Made Attempted Field Goals 65 136 *Free Throws x 50% 22.5 51.5 Totals 87.5 187.5 True Shooting Percentage - Wilt: 87.5 / 187.5 = 46.7% Wilt's Points per game = 15.9 *Each Free Throw is worth half of a Field Goal - a Free Throw is one point, a Field Goal two points. *This calculation is done to compute True Shooting Percentage, combining FG shooting and FT shooting into one percentage. The term True Shooting Percentage is used at the Basketball Reference web site. In their 11 playoff games, Kareem's True Shooting Percentage was 2% better than Wilt's. Kareem scored 14 more points per game than Wilt. Wilt's shots were easier. The Bucks relied more on Kareem for offense / points than the Lakers did on Wilt. The Lakers didn't want to blow games because of Wilt's poor free throw shooting. Both Kareem and Wilt played excellent defense against each other.
What about rebounds, steals and blocks shots? Wilt consistently outrebounded Jabbar right up until the year he retired. He was also blocking more shots and getting more steals, although they weren't official statistics at the time.
I don't believe that Wilt blocked more shots or got more steals but some people guess that he did, we don't know because those stats were not tracked. Kareem's Bucks defense held their opponents to the lowest field goal percentage in the league in Wilt's last three years; Wilt's Lakers defense allowed a higher field goal percentage. This indicates that Kareem was an intimidating force on defense and an excellent defensive player; he also led the league in blocked shots numerous times and would have led the league more times but blocked shots weren't tracked in Kareem's first four years. I agree with you that Wilt was a better rebounder, no doubt about that. I rate Kareem and Wilt equal as defensive players.
@@MR-wc9lh Wilt Chamberlain blocked way more shots than Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Just because they weren't official statistics at the time, doesn't mean that efforts were made the count Wilt Chamberlain's blocks during games. Sometimes his blocks were counted by the official scorer or news reporters. There was a very famous game when Chamberlain first joined the Lakers and he was criticized by the reporter who interviewed him live on TV at halftime. Chamberlain was still angry when he came out for the second half and blocked one out of every four shots the Phoenix Suns took. They counted 23 blocks total. images.app.goo.gl/5m78ksCxTw8obLcE8 There are about 120 games where Chamberlain blocked shot totals were kept by reporters. He averaged nearly nine blocked shots per game!!n
Those poor Milwaukee Buck fans. They cheered wildly for Kareem, and spent their hard earned money to watch him play, while he hated playing for them, and pined to play for the Lakers.

Augusto Otsusg:First, thanks for posting and sharing this particular video(series.) Let's be throughly and absolutely clear. This perticular game(as a whole)had so much to offer. Not just this matchup of Wilt versus Kareem. Exciting game with many other great players and both coaches. Part of the rich NBA history. After watching this,I have a unique question. Why hasn't Richie Powers (one of the 2 on-court referees) been inducted in the Basketball Hall Of Fame by now? He had a long career of officiating NBA games(1956-1979.) His book "Overtime" (during the 1973-74 season) is very insightful as well. What keeps him from being honored in this way? Just wondering, that's all. This is horrible and makes no sense. Hopefully, one day this will change. Once again, thanks for posting and sharing this truly vintage video.
