    No. Moving the tongue does not control the SPEED of the air. The tongue moves as a TANDEM effort of embouchure manipulation. The mouth's native function is eating and that coordinated movement is related to that . But the tongue does not directly control pitch, especially by some air "speed" nonsense. The first tones by a beginner should ALWAYS be on the FULL INSTRUMENT. NOT the mouthpiece or lead pipe. Blow air through the mouth piece for lip placement correction but ALWAYS first tones on the full instrument.
