I really want to like them... They're just infuriating to play.

I love the Fanatics. But, it really comes down to TV management. The Fanatic is 70k; which is almost two Goblins. The Fanatic is also a piece that the rest of your team has to work around to protect it. Then, it runs the risk of being sent off as a Secret Weapon. When it comes to the Bomma, it's only 5k less expensive than the Star Player Bomber Dribblesnot. The Star comes with Accurate for better bombing. Then Dribblesnot can chose to detonate the bomb once per game if it's caught or something. Just better value for 5k more. I'm just trying to manage the Team Value.

I was considering a Hand-Off to the Looney to bring him up to 5 SPP. My largest concern being Turn 8 and the Rain. I was going just take the score on the Pogoer. But, yes; very different game. That's one of the things I love about Blood Bowl.

Yeah; can't say I wasn't a little tilted by the end. But, that's Blood Bowl. Eventually, Nuffle will smile at me instead.

That's the primary reason I record my games. There's been so many times I watch them back and question why I did some things and not others. It's been a great resource.

@@-Charon-the-Ferryman- thing is, in the moment, I might well have done the same thing It's very easy to become blinkered when playing Blood Bowl and not see past the turn you're on

It's been an odd run so far. I either haven't had the 'Ooligan on the pitch or haven't felt safe enough to try to hand over the ball to it. I'm really missing the Sneaky Git, though.

@@-Charon-the-Ferryman- as I said on the BHPC discord earlier... SG on the Ooligan is an absolute must and literally the first skill you want on the whole team

Aside from playing on BB2, all the games I've played (including tabletop) are horizontal. It took some getting used to on the digital format, for sure.

It was "fun" to play out, too! 😅 Seriously though, it was a good game. Bar0n_1 is a great coach. I knew I was going to struggle with fresh BlOrcs. Standfirm is a hard counter to them. They need to be able to Grab and pass the target behind for Fouling and forward Movement.

@patknez That's true. I'm more frustrated with all the armor breaks I caused, most were KOs. I was hoping to get some points for CAS.

Skaven are always tricky. I know I haven't been uploading recently. Honestly, I just wasn't too interested in the teams added in the last 2 updates. That being said, my favorite team in Blood Bowl (Goblins) is being added on Sept 10th. So, I should be back to uploading new games soon!

@@-Charon-the-Ferryman- I was thinking about you when I heard that the other day haha. Nah, it’s never a problem. I just enjoy yours bc talking doesn’t get in the way and I enjoy it. I go through moods in blood bowl. I’ll go a month where I play all the time and then drop off for awhile before going back to it. Plus college football season kinda gets me playing again. Just one of those things.

I get that. I'll go through periods where I play almost nonstop and then drop off for a while.

Thanks for all the kind words. When it comes to getting better at the game, it really comes down to just getting the reps in. Also, it's helpful to have a community of players to ask questions of and discuss the game with. I'd recommend the Bonehead Podcast Discord. It's a great group of players (mostly tabletop) who have a wide array of experience with all aspects of the game. You should be able to find the link in the description of one of their videos. In all honesty, I began uploading because I was playing the game anyway. I'm happy you're enjoying them! They've also helped me by being able to watch back and see mistakes I may have made.

@@-Charon-the-Ferryman- yep, I’m watching some of those now actually. I also saw some Andy davo team guides. Guess it’s just one of those things that takes time. I’m definitely bette then I used to be. I also understand a whole lot more than I did. So I am learning. I dislike Doscord tbh but I may give it try. I do on battle brothers which is one of my favorite games. What’s your favorite overall team? Just curious.

I can say, hands down, my favorite team in Blood Bowl is Goblins. They are NOT a good team by any means, but they are a lot of fun (IMHO). I began playing BB with Orcs in 2016. They're a great, solid team. Really straight forward and durable. Once I felt comfortable with them, I began branching out to try other teams. I'm really enjoying the Shambling Undead and have been playing Elf teams more, now. The Elves are teaching me a lot about screening.

The Bonehead Podcast Discord is a real accepting platform. Everyone on there are quality people and willing to share advice and a laugh.

@@-Charon-the-Ferryman- goblins? Really? Ha, never would have guessed. That’s cool though. It’s about fun too. That was I’m thinking. I’ll play orcs until I get really comfortable with them and then move onwards to similar teams before I try those crazy elf teams. Other then the dark ekves, who are my overall favorite even though I can’t figure out how to play them yet, I’m not really that interested. Guess I’ll see how you do with the elves when I get to those vids. Cool stuff, ty!

It's also free. All you need is an internet connection, PC, and Java. It's up to date with all the teams and FAQ changes, too. It just takes some getting used to.

That’s cool. I got a lot to catch up on. I go off and on with blood bowl. Play for awhile and then get tired. Really enjoy your vids bc I can think along with you and learn. I’m gonna try and play a good bit when the new season starts up.

I'm happy you're enjoying it! I don't want to spoil too much, but I played my final game (Game: 8) in this League just the other night vs a Khorne team. It was one of the most fun games of Blood Bowl that I've played. It will be posted on April 21st. There has been discussion about the a Summer FUMBBL League already. I haven't heard when it will start, but I will be recording my games to post here.

FUMBBL is great. If you enjoy Blood Bowl as a tabletop game and want to play it online, then FUMBBL is the best representation of that game. It may not look or sound pretty, but all the rules and teams are up to date and accurate to the tabletop ...and it's free. 🤘

In most ways, yes. But, Blood Bowl 3 has come a long way over the last year since release. I play it regularly and it does have things that need improved, for sure. Though, my only large complaint with Blood Bowl 3 is the release schedule for the teams.

There's a definite learning curve, for sure! (Coming from BB2 & BB3) It was a fun match, though. Hopefully, our next few games go well.

Thanks for watching! Undead are a solid team, for sure. It's easy to run the Ghouls a little too fast and leave them exposed. You need to try to keep them safe and pick your moments to break loose.

Then that turn 10 stab!!!! My Assassins never are that good, Dodge or no Dodge

Dark Elf teams always give me a run, for sure. They're armored just enough and Dodge like... well, elves. It makes them difficult to keep contained. But, Stabbing Goblins is always a good idea...

The strange part was, the Skaven player had plenty of players left available to turn the game in their favor. I don't care if someone concedes or not, but there were still plenty of options here.

If I'm understanding, you're asking why I took a few turns in quick succession. What ended up happening is my opponent's Rat Ogre attempted a block as the first action of thier turn and got bad results, ending their turn.

They can be somewhat swingy. Chaos Renegades can be caught out of position if the Big Guys don't activate. They are fun, though.

Black Orcs are tough. But, the team overall is slow. Strangely, Black Orcs are the team that's performing best for me this Season. I should have been recording those games... If/When you do run into them, prioritize taking out the Goblins. This will reduce their ability to move the ball. The same holds true for the Lizardmen team. Remove the little guys as often as possible. This is of course easier said than done.

@@-Charon-the-Ferryman-​​⁠yeah that’s exactly what they reminded me of was Lizardmen. I tried playing as those and just didn’t really know how to use them yet. I ended up playing chaos and I’m doing pretty good honestly. I think I’m 4-4-8 or something like that. I like them bc I don’t have to think too hard when doing something ha.

That's a pretty solid record for someone who has just started playing. Well done! I'm running Chaos Renegades (no Beastmen, but multiple Big Guys) in the Ladder, currently. I'm still not sure how much I like them overall. I'm looking forward to the Goblin team being introduced into the game. But, that's likely pretty far off.

I still have tendencies to quickly click my actions without looking. I've failed so many Dodges and Rushes by not playing slower and checking my surroundings. So, I understand. The game will calculate a fairly straight line to the destination square you're selecting and try to automatically find the safest path. You may see an "safe" square and confirm the move, but it could path you around Tackle Zones costing you squares and causing Rushes. You can always click out portions of the path before you confirm and see how the distance changes. As for Skills... The knowledge will come in time. There is a steep learning curve in Blood Bowl; especially for someone just starting out. There are resources online that should have descriptions of the Skills. Look for Blood Bowl 2020 information, as that's the current ruleset. The BLOCK Skill is one of the best in the game, so if a player doesn't already come with it, it's almost always a great all-around choice.

@@-Charon-the-Ferryman- That's odd, it got rid of my first comment. I was just saying how I thought for sure you had the person in the first half. I watched as the "noose" tightened around him. He escaped with that Dump pass and few lucky rolls. That was crazy, but that's the part I like about the game the most tbh. You never really know for sure if you got someone or not. Well played though man. I found a BB Tactics site that's pretty freakin awesome man. Plus a fummbl site that has good info. I dont care about being really good, I just want to understand what it is im trying to do, what skills are relevant to what you're trying to accomplish, formation setups and why, those kinda things. So, im doing well reading and playing with those so far. Not many wins but getting better at not being so easy to beat now.

There is a good community on the Bonehead Podcast Discord that could help answer questions, as well. The link to that should be in the Description of one of their videos. The people in there seem to be really welcoming and friendly. Honestly though, the best way to learn in by playing the game. I picked it up in 2016 and I'm still learning how certain things work.

Are you referring to how all the Skaven all dropped back towards the ball at the first kick-off instead of moving forward? If so, sometimes faster teams will drop back to entice slower teams to chase after and maybe leave gaps to run through; just to turn and run past. Skaven are tough to contain, especially for a slower team like Orcs. The game will match players by their SR (Skill Rating) and TV (Team Value). The more games I can win, the higher the SR of players I'll encounter.

Ah gotcha ok. Solid strategy then I guess sounds like. I’m getting better at understanding things in general. Have a few games under my belt now. Watched some boneheaded podcast for some formations and learned about the screening so it makes sense. Ty man, appreciate it!

You're welcome! Great to hear you've gotten some games in! The Bonehead Podcast is a great resource if you're looking to play a fun, casual game of Blood Bowl. Their focus is more on the tabletop game, but it can apply to BB3 as the ruleset is (mostly) the same. They have a series on different aspects of the game (Theory Thursday?) if you like the math side of things. I don't play what would considered by some to be "good Blood Bowl" as I will take risks that have (and will continue to) cost me games. But, sometimes those risks win me games, too. The game is all about the risk management and I tend tend to lean to what sounds fun to me at the time. I can say that since recording the games and watching them back, I am seeing mistakes I've made in the moment. So this adventure in RUclips has become a great way for me to improve my own game by "watching film" and seeing where I need to improve.

Thanks so much! My channel is still new, but I did record the BB3 in-game tutorial a little while back. It's not a great tutorial, but it may have something useful. I tried to leave enough time for viewers to read the tool-tips as I played through it. Generally speaking, you want to try to do all your safest moves first; anything that doesn't require dice. Then prioritize safest blocks and so on. I'm not a great player and I make plenty of mistakes. But, I play more for fun than competitive gaming.

There is a setting you can toggle to always show a close up of every block. I have it set to only do that on Armor Breaks. It's also supposed to have a large splash screen for Casualties (like the thumbnail to the video), but sometimes it doesn't play. You're welcome and I'm happy you're enjoying the games, regardless!
