I drive truck for a living, so, my videos cover a little about a lot. I want to try to do at least a video a week. I film with a GoPro Hero 4 Silver, I plan on getting more camera equipment in the future to help with filming. Anyway, hope you enjoy, Thanks for watching.
Update to my equipment list, I now have 2 GoPro Hero 5 Blacks, and a Karma drone. I still have my original Hero 4 Silver.

So I bought a couple of pit bikes from a local guy here. Got a good deal on them. My daughter wanted to learn how to ride a motorcycle and htese are the perfect size, 125s. They run pretty good, and are a lot of fun.

Driver lost his life driving Cabbage Patch hauling cabbage.
This type of driving requires patience…
That is a terriby designed trailer. You shouldn't have to disconnect your 5th wheel.
Lol I'm the tech on the video and barely found out about it 2 years ago lmao

Camera position was wayyy too far away and you didn't explain a thing. I don't know any more after watching this than I did before I started.
Didn't show a thing all the way across the shop.
Sorry about the pin joke. Hit me up sometime.
Wow, but you build it on your own
thumbs down. no swan attack - will be sure to avoid your stuff.
Whats the legal limit of how many chassis you can stack onto another chassis? What about how many chassis on a flatbed? Thanks,
18 mph really? Why so slow? Seems like something like 30 would be plenty safe. But I don’t drive truck so I don’t know much about it
Recording skills are 100% great job and tank you for teaching me something new sr..
Yes
DUDE SLOW DOWN YOURE GOING TO CRASH OH MY GOD
Could you explain how to bring the armrest down, we just recently bought a w900 and have no idea how to bring the armrest down
Engine break and down shift
I have done it,with an old volvo with basic hp 400 and very little torque at almost 80,000 lbs.8 gears.the trick is to select the proper gear before heading down.some of the trucks passing, they are carrying very little weight.and you have to relay weight to speed.the heavier the slowest, the lighter the faster, but not too fast, still a very long downhill.wildhorse casino and truck stop at the bottom to cool down and eat.ah and fuel up.😊nice video.
I drive a 2023 579 Pete with a Cummings cx15, and the lowest gear my jake works in is 7th in a 13 speed …. I’m supposed to go down this mountain … last time I went I was in my 2013 kw dd60 and I keept it in 6th gear …. But I was just wondering what y’all think
Reprogram your ECM.
@@outdoordave6304 , so just simply reprogram the ecm, mmm kinda nervous about goin down the grapevine I may take the long way and got threw thachapi hills
@truckuhmike2622 the Jake should work in every gear, is it doesn't, its due to the way the ECM is programmed.
Yea this new Cummings cx15 is a performance enhanced and motor protection to where in lower gears it has a automatic engine break but it’s weak made for flat land … and in 8th gear when u have the jakes active it works fine but anything lower than 8th and u twist the button on the Jake lever to activate it… theirs no Jake… my boss said it’s designed like that … I just don’t feel comfortable taking 78,520lbs down the grapevine in 8th gear …. That’s about 40mph when my rpms at 1500
There is a brake check stop on 24 just before the decent and it is monitored by not only the Tennessee DOT but the 75 S.B. scale.....been driving a tanker and I always stop at all brake check areas.....and this one at Monteagle I stop at i watch all the trucks that blow by it if they continue on 75 south into Georgia i see everyone of them pulled into that scale....just fyi guys dont be stupid....checking your brakes does save lives
I took that hill with Jake not working I dint want to trade in truck so I kept trying different terminals to see fux I'm company driver .......I come out dead slow but you over speed engine then on breaks but you don't want to be on breaks I think I had 40k or 38 ....I use to run equip before I drove truck so.......drivers take the Jake for granted ..... CW MCCALL WOLF CREEK PASS....I'm still alive nothing happend but I'll say this almost pushing triple digit in left lane at bottom hoping no one got in front of me.....cam shaft shifted so Jake wouldn't come on I thought it was electrical I dint want to give in that Pete
what part of California, is The Grapevine, exactly ? and i mean pin point
I had some guy asking me for gas money.when I said “ pull your car to that pump and I’ll pump you some “ he said I am empty and can’t move. I went inside bought a fuel can (not cheap at any truck stop) put 2 gallons in it and proceeded to the man. I went to him and I have gas for you sir. He got in his car and tried to leave but was blocked by traffic I then said loudly THIS IS A SCAMMER ASKING FOR GAS $$$
Well done
Nice man love to see people having fun and staying in shape
Thanks for the reply. I know there is more life out there, and I will never find it setting around and wondering.
Its a lot of work dropping and picking up that old girl. Thank you and be safe.
you should have johnny cash's Monteagle song on for background music.
This is not a very informative video. He does not explain or show anything he did to get the deck off. Not a how to video at all.
How length the chain😂😂😂
There’s definitely no reason to be on the brakes in a modern Freightliner. You can use the descent control all the way down. You should know how to do it manually as well
I live right west of Denver so every morning I'm coming down the incline into the city and every evening I head back up. I always look at the different truckers and tbh it's like they let anyone drive a truck now. I can tell the veterans like yourself by how they do things but then you have these other guys who just come flying past me. I've seen whole wheels on fire coming past me from trucks. Idk if they just don't care or if they aren't preparing these rookies for those steep mountain drives
Solid how to video, thanks man. 🔥🦾🔥
@outdoordave Where are you in this clip Dave???
Green Meadow road, Ft. Myers FL
rarely ever use my brakes
been there plenty times,
Thanks driver lot information 💯🤛🏼🚛💨
I love how quiet it is
It I'd amazing
Caves always be named stuff like „devils den“ and „lucifers wet ass“ and then be the most beautiful spot on the planet
Wow that is a really cool location! :)

There are so many variables to decending a long decline. Even the most experienced drivers can get over confident. Some trucks you see passing by going faster may be empty, or very little freight. .Others may not have a good engine break, and may need to just go slower. Or maybe you havent adjusted your breaks recently. A good rule of thumb is to just decend the hill at the same speed your specific truck would pull up that hill with the same load.
That's the right way to do that particular grade. But some grades wont allow that. Such as southbound I-30 down into Rainier Oregon with 105K. You just got to feel each one out and work your rig accordingly.
I've been over cabbage a 1,000 times never ever used anything but Jake brake .
Mr shitface know it all thinks he knows everything
