I agree with what you and a vast amount of the fandom are saying, it is just really hard to get your head round why Russell thought wrapping it up the way he did was the right way. It just wasn’t. I hope next season makes this ending a lot better somehow, but I unfortunately doubt it Mrs Flood gets revealed next season, but that will probably be underwhelming too

Sutekh was a bold choice to bring back for a finale of a season heavily advertised to be quite separate (at least enough to become a starting point for new viewers) and it has mentioned and done a lot to do with the previous show (considering it’s now a separate entity on Disney plus and iplayer) which I’m glad it has don’t get me wrong, we didn’t need another series 11 where it barely felt like Doctor who anymore. But bringing back a classic villian that had one appearance, yeah bold and a lot of people, even ones who’ve watched modern who don’t even know which is which is kinda awkward

This finale has the potential to be great, just as you said hope Russel is able to pull it off, as for this episode it was a great first parter and definitely my favourite episode of the series, perhaps that’s saying something 🤔 But yeah until we see the rest of the story and the conclusion, who knows how it’ll be

It was great hearing modern music being performed in the episode. With everything TV related that's been going on this season, I wouldn't be surprised if the musical choices were influenced. Probably by Bridgerton, but still lol.

It was a pretty alright episode with really a powerful ending and showcased a lot for the character. 7/10 because honestly it’s not a fun rewatch cuz she’s so blatantly racist and just annoying.

I think she was able to time travel because of her as of yet undiscovered abilities but time will tell on that one

I think the reason why the producers of Dr. Who Series 14 went through the time, money, and trouble to shoot this episode was because it gives the fans something different relative to the average: Dr. meets mean alien, Dr. discovers alien is about to destroy the race/planet/galaxy/universe, and Dr. has to stop it from happening. 73 Yards, in my opinion is one of the best episodes of the entire franchise. Some might have trouble understanding the episode because they aren't seeing "Mad Jack" as the non-physical entity that it is but rather as an alien up to no good. This later viewpoint does lead to a lot of unanswered questions.... The way I understood it, "Mad Jack" was a supernatural, super-powerful, mysterious entity that truly_does_not_like_it when anyone breaks its fairy circle. It's power, though, is only surpassed by its mystery. This underlying idea really explains everything that happened in the episode. I LOVED IT! ❤❤❤️

Missed this kind of Doctor who. Can’t wait for next week. Rocky start with the first couple episodes but now we’re settling in more it’s finding it’s feet again and I’m all here for it

Intro different again?

Solid 8/10 it was great and you could tell it was Moffat back writing it and that’s good. Perfect episode for a rewatch as well as it’s pretty much unconnected to the arc of the series (apart from the snow bit) Murray Gold was pretty good as well and yeah definitely better then the previous 2

Really good episode, I agree it actually would’ve worked better as a series opener to get people interested. Works a lot better then space babies did

Here is my theory: David Tennant will come back for only 1-2 minutes. Point 1) 14th is still the main Doctor. He maintains the original Tardis also. Ncuti was created by 14th. Am I saying Ncuti is not The Doctor? No. Point 2) Once 14th has recovered from his trauma, AND once he's ready to regenerate again, be it from old age or whatever, something happens that triggers 14th's regeneration energy to go to the events of The Giggle. This is why 15th is mentally stable now and is "fine, because [14] fixes himself". 14th's path dies because he can no longer complete a full regeneration. He simply transfers the regeneration to the events of The Giggle.

it was shite, I could not make it in 10mins. I dont normally go here, but lets be honest, this was written by a new mother who is baby obsessed, no one else can find this anything but annoying an cringe inducing in the extreme.

I don’t think it is possible that the Doctor wouldn’t return. He is as much the Doctor as 15 and still has his regenerations as a result. The new series has been so poor I regard 14 and his future incarnations as still being potentially the real Doctor. I don’t think this new series is working out and cancellation or retcon is deeply possible.

I’m really surprised by the low ratings for this episode on IMDb I agree it’s an 8/10 and although obviously not perfect it’s far from bad or mid

David Tennant is literally like the face of Doctor who like it or not, even in America as much as Disney want Ncuti to be recognised as that he’s not. It’s David, so bringing him back especially considering the plot Russel wrote with him makes the most sense. If they don’t then yeah that’s stupid asf

If he doesn’t come back it’s gonna come across as really lazy writing and out of character for the doctor to just not get involved as it were. Hoping he does come back

I was looking forward to the episode but yeah it was a let down, some good scenes that already have me well and truly invested for this seasons arc but apart from that could easily go without watching it again

Yeah I agree it wasn’t the best, i definitely think it will be seen as the weakest of the series after it’s all aired. The only other episode I think may be sorta mid is rogue but time will tell with that
