200 dollars is a LOT of money for weekly food, but i noticed that you are including non food items in your budget. I wonder what price you're paying for vegetables? The cheap ones like beets and carrots are only a dollar to a dollar fifty per pound around here. Potatoes are even cheaper, at like 10 pounds for 5 dollars if you get the brown ones. One place where you could almost crrtainly save is getting cheaper noodles: plain spaghetti is usually a dollar or two for 2k calories worth of pasta, but buy it with packaged seasoning and suddenly you're paying 5 dollars for 500 calories worth. Ramen is usually an ok deal if you want premixed spices and easy to cook noodles, but most of the others are wayyyy overpriced.

Yea, I'm lucky if I get to eat, shower, or brush my teeth in peace. Trad wives seem to live very privileged lives. Speaking as someone who also works fulltime, but can't afford day care and also can't afford to go to one income (husband also works fulltime). We're both priveledged in that we both can WFH, so it's manageable. I do think motherhood/parenthood is a skillset of a different caliber that would be helpful no matter what you end up doing - time management, budgeting, emotional regulation, negotiation, delaying gratification, sacrifice. It's a constant juggle. And it definitely doesn't come easy, at least for me. Honestly, I would love to have a trad wife to take care of the home.

my issue with tradwives is the way some of them politicize their content in an anti-feminist way, where they think that they and all women are genuinely biologically programmed to be mothers and to "nest" and be homemakers. also, a lot of prominent tradwives end up connected to like...white supremacy, far right political talkingheads, etc. fundie fridays has some excellent videos on tradwives like classically abby (ben shapiros sister btw 💀) and mrs. midwest.

🌳 I always watch your videos as I’m at home with my little 5 1/2 month old. I work from home and it can be pretty lonely sometimes so I love to check in what other mummas are doing at this stage of life! Trying to look after myself as best as I can which is certainly challenging right now, eating healthier, getting outside to go on walks, implementing slower living, decluttering my home.. it’s a whirlwind to navigate through it all, like there just isn’t enough time and I’m shattered by the end of the day. Little lady is also going through a stage of waking in the night for feeds again which is certainly affecting my productivity! I think it’s just a development leap as she’s just started sitting, so hopefully it will pass soon and I can go back to sleeping again cos gosh I need it! 🤦‍♀️

I'm obsessed with these kind of vlogs. I think it's because I'm a FTM too of an almost 5 month old. I don't know anyone else going through this phase of life currently and it's really nice to see how others are handling everything. Also, I hear ya on feeling old. I'm 35 and almost had a 'geriatric' pregnancy. 🌴
