I wanted to say thanks to everyone for helping support me by viewing and for letting me tell their stories! I also show Clifford my 4440 and I put my new old DuAl 3100 loader on my 856 custom. There's a short clip unloading feed that I took off TikTok. It's a little, non full screen, then it goes right back to full screen.

This week's Friday tractor story got rescheduled last minute. Between a family emergency and the holidays I wasn't able to reschedule this week. So, I did a video showing my tile plow, our really cool John Deere 400 feed mill, and my 856 getting it's second DuAl loader. I'm shooting a really cool retirement auction preview tomorrow, so you'll get a tractor story

Kip Seigler RUclips channel Imlay City Michigan they have a White tractor
I’ve got the second Harvestore built in Minnesota. The first was at the U of M experiment station in Rosemont. It is a 14 x 40. The foundation was failing early on so they put a 5’ tall by 18” thick external concrete base around the outside. I used it for high moisture corn until I quit milking in ‘85
We had a 90 foot harverstore it got taken down around 2005 I believe. It went to France. My Dad used it to pay for part of his harverstore slurry silo. There is still a few concrete silos and harverstore here in central Alberta Canada 🇨🇦
Do you have any silos in your area that shared a silo unloader and roof? If so would you ever do a story on that?
There are a lot of old timers you don't mention the word harvestor around.
Ryan these videos are great. I could listen to this stuff all day everyday. I am agreement with one of the other commenters suggesting George Gierok as an interview subject. His following could possibly boost your viewership
Our neighbor has a blue top and his grandfather was convinced that bunk feeding would waste to much feed because of spoiled silage based on what the salesman led him to believe so he bought one. The salesman was good at selling them 😊. I remember they would fill it and had to have a water hose running to keep the moisture up. They did build a small bunk and it worked well for them so they added on and by the 90’s they quit using the silos mainly because of mechanical problems with the unloading system. The Harvesters dealer went out business in our area right around that time in the 90’s. We don’t anyone in the area still using them to my knowledge because of the bags or bunk feeding.
Wow Ryan, I was so there with you. We got a 4010 when I was 12, but I had to cultivate with a John Deere 520 on a 4 row cultivator. My Dad set the shovel so close, that it took everything I had to stay on the row from sun up to sun set. Then when he put on nitrogen, he would see every single spot I dug out, or covered some corn and let me know it. I would much rather bale hay than cultivate corn.
Great video. As a kid, Harvestores were the bees knees. We had a 60×20 for high moisture corn to a roller mill. I was always so proud of our silos. I show my boys videos just so they know whats what. I love the excitement you have. Thank you for making my day better!
Thanks for the video. Glad you’re feeling better. Enjoy your trip
We have a lot of Harvestores in our area. Also a lot of concrete block silos. Now generational farms are building bins. Silos set empty. Bunks rule by us. I’ll never forget coming out of the silo after filling and covering with plastic, looked like Casper…. Lol
As a rule harvestors we a disaster, for the farmer
Still use ours today
Thanks for sharing The first feed room was nice and bright
Love the farm tours ! Some people say cattle are just a money pit. But I think is the perfect circle on the ground
Harvestore's were rare enough here in Ireland but there is quite a few harvestore slurry bunkers sold here and the UK as Howard Harvestore. Howard were the importer of the silos from the US. Not sure if that still the case.
They broke a lot of farmers !
I grew up on a farm that had a semi circular bunk. Ours was made by Patz. There was an elevated steel track about 6' high that the conveyor went back and forth on. The stand in your video supported the conveyor coming from the silos and the separate conveyor going out to the bunk. That is where it would pivot. We fed fat cattle out of two silos. On had corn silage and the other ear corn silage. Love your videos. Waiting for one all about the Pete!
Thanks Ryan really enjoyed the tour.
U Wana see bunch of harvestores come to boyd. The huth farm has at least 10 in use
thanks Ryan for the farm yard tours, always interesting.
Love your videos. Both my grandparents milked and my father for a while. He ran a milk route and grain farmed for a while also. I worked on a large cow/calf with a feedlot operation. My oldest son added cows 8 years ago. Love your videos. Small operation but we live farming. My day job is connect with AG manufacturers so that keeps me going. Keep up the good work.
Ryan, this was a great video, I feed beef cattle also, so I love hearing about feeding operations, hope you get well soon, thanks
The cat is going to develop an inferiority complex if you don’t pet it soon. Wonderful video. Graduated from AGR. College in 1977; those Blue Silo’s were cutting edge.
The word Harvestore meant $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ don’t wish those dam things on anyone. Better be master fixer upper. You evidently haven’t been around them when they 😮go down. Careful what you dream about 😂wanting one. Sorry for the gloom and doom😂.
Both of the ones I owned are still standing
@ That’s great, but are they still useful without spending thousands of dollars a year😂🤫. Thank you, sir!
Down the road from me there is an old Sealstor, which was another brand of harvestor at the time
I just like that there’s gonna be some hay & small grains in the midwest again. On your farm!
Ryan ,You need to make Farming Great Again..
Thanks for the video Ryan. Enjoyed the farm tours and seeing the silos. Lots of different setups. The blue silos are tops. Thanks. The Iowa farm boy. Steve. PS. Get better soon. Best wishes for your recovery.
the blue tops didnt rust out
Kip Sigler RUclips channel out of Michigan is rethinking silos he's actually going to tear them down
I like the old farm tours. We had a 20 by 45 harvestore corn unit with the bag in the barn hay mow. When we stacked hay we always had to make sure we were far enough from the bag for when it filled up. The cows are now gone so is the silo but the bag is still in the top of the barn.
The picture on the22:00 minute mark was a reverse image. My dad put up grain unit in1979, I was12years old so I wrote in to the magazine and told them it was backwards in return they sent me a gold pen and pencil set. I'm on the home farm and still use Harvestore today, I only wish I could find the pen and pencil again. Love the content of your channel someday I wish I could share our farm history with you. Loyal Wisconsin.
Should come check out dark county Ohio when you come to Indy lol
Good video. Like when you talk to the farmers and hear about the history of the family farms starting out and where they are at today. God bless
The blue are always neat
Thank you for doing these videos. There's no dairys in my area, so it's neat to see different ways of farming
We had I-H 56 blower back in the 70’s . My dad liked the way the auger was on an angle so the silage hit the paddles on the upswing. We had a 25 by 65 harvestore.
1964 is when they changed the new font. That font was 60-63. white tops came out in 1967 or 68.
I agree The company made everybody think they needed a harvester because my grandpa, a dairy farmer in Wisconsin who had only ever wore jeans with patches for as long as I remember, had 2 of them built back in the 70s. One for corn and another for Haylege. I am positive investing in those 2 harvesters was the most my grandpa ever spent any anything his entire life - including the farm. Those brochures must have been convincing. But I am grateful for them as I have memories as a kid helping fill both of them using a MM Vista 1000 as the blower tractor.
You should look up Rich Holman from Baldwin. He has a bunch of Havestors.
Bill's curved bunk was fed with a conveyer that traveled back and forth similar to a shuttle feeder.
Those bins look very shiney
Perfect timing
Fathers tell kids you love them!!
You guys were speaking of small milk plants and school kids drinking milk. A small bottling plant, webers, a part of nasonville cheese,in marshfield wi supplies milk for local schools. All milk comes from hieman holsteins high quality a2 a2 milk. I think its great.
Personally of those tractors I'd want the MX135. 5.9 Cummins, MFWD, cab with heat and air and they are kinda rare machines.
For my Dad, his first was a 4020 and then a second 4020. We no longer have either 4020 but I can relate to the significance of a tractor to man. My Dad's grave marker has a 4020 engraved in it.
I remember in about 1967 my neighbors got a 1206 to run a valley center pivot irrigagtor. I thought that was just about the coolest thing I had ever seen.
Another great video. You’re doing a great thing documenting all these guys
