Anyone listening to this video, please don't follow the advice in the video. Except for couple of things that make sense, everything else is plain BS. Following this, will not only make your life hell as a Scrum Master but also spoil your team's working environment, cost you their productivity as well as deliverables would go for a toss. The only two things that make sense in this video are - - Scrum Masters role is not to punish the developers. True. Absolutely true. Oh, and it was just 1 thing that made sense. Remember, Scrum Masters are there to SUPPORT the team, NOT SPOON FEED them. We all work with professionals. If they are lacking in some skills, train them, coach them, don't replace them by doing their work. Do your role best & you will see in the process how you make yourself valuable to the Scrum Team & how the team becomes more successful.
Rahul, I appreciate your passion for project management and Scrum which was evidenced by our LinkedIn exchange. But what baffles me is where this passion came from. Looking at your LinkedIn profile you have worked your entire career as a systems analyst and developer. You got your PMP a year ago. Maybe you should be a little more open to the ideas of someone who has actually worked as a PM and scrum master for 30+ years. Wish you the best.
