2024 Rattlesnake Round-Up. One correction. Rattlesnakes must be longer than 42 inches and have at least 21 subcaudal scales. Sorry for the confusion!

Where is this exactly? Im assuming they're eastern diamond backs
If you can take them off the rocks to tube them on flat grass it is easier...Awesome snakes
Thanks for that. You are 100 percent right on finding better spots to tube them, but where we hunt are mountain top and sides, so it's not always the ideal locations for tubing. We appreciate the feed back
Cool share
Could you reccomend some reasonably priced snake gators ?
We wear a boot instead of gators. The boots I wear are Rocky brand.very comfortable and lightweight for long walks. The set of gators we have are knight and hale snake gators that cost 40.00 from sportmans guide. I'm sure you can find what you need on Amazon. Thanks for watching Dan!
Thanks for taking us along. So far it's been a weird year for rattlers in my neck of the woods because of no rain. I don't hunt them but enjoy finding them here is Cambria and Westmoreland Counties. They are in spots they normally aren't looking for water.
It's definitely been a hot and dry season, and you are exactly right! We've been hitting new areas because some of our good spots are empty or only have one female still there when normally there are numerous this time of year. Thanks for sharing, and thanks for watching.👍
The way you guys operate, It's only a matter of time before somebody gets bitten!
We are very new to this sport and learning overtime. The only way to get good at something is hands on experience. We are hunting the Pennsylvania wildness that has so really tough terrain that is not always ideal.I pray to God we stay safe. We treat the snakes with respect and hope they do in return also. Thanks for watching.
@@insaneoutdoors717 I used to archery hunt in north central pa. many years ago. Had i known then that there are as many rattlers as there are, I probably would not have hunted there!
@@ld5954It's unbelievable how many snakes we have. They just lay quietly and let you walk right past them. We are from mifflin county. Never saw a rattlesnake until last year when I actually started looking for them!
What state is this in? My brother used to climb into rattlesnakes pits (in Texas) to just to take pictures. I don’t know if he was stupid or just crazy. Maybe a combination of both.
Be safe out there
I've seen a lot of rattlers in nothern Clinton county. Don't seem to be an endangered species anymore.
Hello from Fayette county. Great video! Keep up the great content. Absolutely love seeing some boys I’ve met and conversed with turning in snakes. I hope to run into you guys again. Maybe share some dinner some time at my camp no suit and tie required. That’s just for signup day.
Hey fellas! Thanks for watching. We would definitely be interested in hanging out with a couple of pro's like yourselves. We will be looking forward to running into you guys at the next hunt.✌️
200th like and also now a subscriber. Question: I’m assuming you don’t have to tag the snake if you are going to enter it in a tournament and then release it again?
Thanks for your subscription, Keith. You are correct. If you are returning the snake back for these hunts you don't need to fill your tag, but you also have the choice to keep it alive as a pet or kill it and keep it as a trophy. In that case, you would need to tag your snake. In Pennsylvania, we are aloud 1, 42 inch or bigger male rattlesnake, and 1 copperhead any sex any size, and the season runs to July 31st. I'm on my way out now to try and get more footage. Thanks, agian!
Beautiful snakes. The one you didn’t tube looked like it had some awesome white/cream markings on it!
It was a very pretty snake, just freshly shed. I am a huge fan of a pretty yellow phase. Thanks for watching, and please subscribe if you haven't yet. There's lots of fun stuff to come.👍
Hahaha😂 We are actually only getting started. Thanks for watching.
2 snakes in an hour is way better than 2 days for 2 snakes! 😂
Hahaha, it has been a tough year. It just makes it nice having a local honey hole to go play in! Thanks for watching. It really means a lot to me!!!
wheres the first aid kit?
At the emergency room! 😆
Thanks for sharing!
Good deal buddy!!!
Excuse me but why in blue blazes are you hunting snakes ?
Haha. We were running out of things to hunt in Pennsylvania. We are just ways in the woods and figured it would be something exciting to try out. We were not wrong lol.
@@insaneoutdoors717Running out of things to hunt? 😮 That’s sad.
Great stuff,,,I will just watch Yall,,,,grateful I never got bit while growing up in Alabama,,
We are all definitely grateful for that, for sure. Appreciate the comment 🤙
Good training video...Yall...
Probably a stupid question but what precautions do hunters take in case of a bite?
It's not stupid at all, lol. Honestly, rattlesnakes are mostly calm until they feel threatened, and in some cases, you do find an aggressive one, but to answer your question, we have absolutely nothing with us. It's important to stay calm and get to the nearest hospital. Rattlesnakes don't normally kill people unless the person is highly allergic to the venom. I know it doesn't sound smart, but they are very pretty to see in their natural habitat and exciting to look for.
@@insaneoutdoors717thanks for your response. I enjoyed your video. New subscriber. I will look for exciting videos in the future. Take care.
Nice video guys. Glad you release them and not like the round up in texas eventually they will end up like us in Vermont and New England with no rattlesnake left witch is a shame. Your channel just earned a sub 👍
Greatly appreciated! Pennsylvania has a lot of respectable snake hunters who are only out for the thrill and not the kill, and hopefully, it will stay that way. Thanks again Shane.
And what's wrong with few or no rattlers?? No one's perfect with regard to lookout and they are wonderfully camouflaged and though rarely fatal, they can make a person darn sick. Naturally a bite can be fatal to a child or small dog. I think they make wonderful hat bands!!
Here in Screven County Georgia, the biggest Timber Rattler I had ever encountered was around 5’ (60”) until one afternoon going to my M-I-L’s late one afternoon in Jenkins County, I came up on a 5’10” Timber Rattler and was going to attempt to catch it, about that time, 2 drunk rednecks pulled up and shot her. I wasn’t too pleased, but I did at least harvest it and was able to save the hide and meat. Eastern Diamond backs are another ballgame here. They get extremely big, and a 6’+ isn’t uncommon. They have a Rattlesnake round up in Claxton (Evans County) every year in March. Hope to see you down here sometime.
Did he replace the tarp over the firewood?
Absolutely! We actually checked it the day before and located 3 rattle snakes under it and didn't get any footage, so we went back the next day to record and nothing!
Get Job 1:02 1:03 why
