Podcast Episode 115: Bob, Agent of Hydra
Im pretty sure medusas lead is different than malekiths, her buffs go to the person who did the daze or ko and malekith is another allied character (I think)
That's correct, that's the slight difference
Yes. Brandon finally found the difference for us. Brad just can't read.
Yes, love the deep analysis of characters like this, but don't forget the trivia. Character analysis and trivia are the best things in this pod by far.
No trivia????
Still loving the show! It's really nice when y'all go really into a character and explain more in depth how and what the character can do. 12/10
i cant wait to play nova ....move generate 2 piwer add 3 dice then i have an 8 dice builder range 4 with a push.....yes please
While Manthing will be great, Lockjaw is very good under Blade midnight sons. He is a 3 threat safe grab, can help get blade or I hulk into the action, and helps clear terrain (which when not playing inhulk is something MS lacks). And he can bleed people for Blade which is nice extra. Manthjng brings a teletoprt too, but struggles to get the power and definetly can't do it turn 1. Plus you can find a cool Bats sculpt and use it as counts as lockjaw for bonus points
awesome episode as always i dont know if you guys are still looking for people to review i would like to throw kraven into the hat
Of course. We always take requests. You'll see Kraven soon now.
Very nice job guys!
Great video again gents
Im currently playing lockjaw in an asgard list as a safe grab on senators and skrulls
It's so wild to me. Generally speaking I agree with where this podcast rates/ranks characters, but I am almost exactly opposite of y'all on Nova and Yondu. I think Yondu is a B to an A-, and Nova is a C+. I think it does come down to how I play Guardians Vs how others do. I've never had Groot do anything in a game, so I've stopped playing Groot (Especially because Thor2 eats Groot). I also find myself not playing Gamora or Drax. Gamora because I can do better at 4 points, and I only want Quill as a 3 in the list. I do play Angela, Bill, Rocket, and Nebula; but not the others. It leaves room for splashes which I think is my main difference in play style.
Steal everything works on teammates as well. So a teammate dazes within 2 he grabs their token
Yeah, I think that's the main use of it. I thought I had articulated that on the show, but I might not have done a very good job. - Brad
Love the show, and it delights me to hear poor Fred be traumatized by the quiz after the answers were Jonathan the Unstoppable, Tippietoe, and Jeff the Land Shark
Great episode as always. I like the versatility of Elsa's leadership as well. It feels like you'll always have something relevant on there.
I liked hearing your thoughts on Elsa. I'm very excited for her, and think her card is solid, but I think the comments about it easily making the 5 because MS have plenty of space for cards is just straight up incorrect. It definitely can make the 10, but MS usually have 1 slot in their 5 to fill depending on characters you are bringing. Otherwise you are almost always bringing Siege, Bats, and your 2 restricted cards (usually brace and sacrifice (or patch up if you like leaning into I Hulk). That leaves one slot for a character card. That could be covering fire, but it's a question of that versus another character's card (or warpath if bringing Dracula) or versatile strategy
Thank you for the game Fred. It was great to meet the podcast crew and play some games! Maybe I'll make it back down again sometime.
Oh y'all took my suggestion to use Jonathan! Wooooooo!
Im with Steven on this. I don't think that Nova is good. I think he is super interesting, I think there are spots he can be good; but, I do honestly worry that as a 5 threat he just won't live up to the hype. His damage is average or slightly below average, his range 4 is good, his tactics card is good, the beam is good (maybe?). His power generation is basically non-existent; outside of spending an action to move long, gain 2 power and remove conditions (which I think would have been great as an action superpower instead of a passive). It would have been interesting to have his range 4 as a builder, his range 2 can stay a gainer. He also doesn't interact with terrain which is a huge let down. Personally I'm just going to ignore all the Nova's I play against, take my 1.7 damage from his range 2 with a 53% to throw me small, or my 2.2 damage from his canon which would then push me S. That small amount of damage is just not great for a 5 threat. (Calcs are just base attacks without outside help against the average 3 energy defense.) Anyone with damage mitigation just won't care about Nova. Bill is fairly ubiquitous as well, seen slightly less often, but Bill takes on average .76 damage from the R2, and 1.13 from the R4 and then walks into a better position. Also Warpath being more common due to Dracula I think he's just gonna be walked at then thrown off his point.
Just found this by typing "MCP Podcast" into the search bar. It couldn't have gone better. This show is great. Keep up the good work boys! Maybe throw in the odd in-depth "Faction overview" 🤷♂️
Brad sunspot only does one damage with his flare state. The flare tokens only change his range
I have been corrected on that and I am playing it right now.
Hello gents! I'm heading down to participate in the tournament tomorrow. Unfortunately I've misplaced my Invincible Iron man card. Wondering if one of you fine folks might let me borrow the card for the event? Much appreciated. Looking forward to gaming with the podcast crew.
With his team tactics card, an allied character can throw an enemy character out of range 3. The enemy character will take one damage and then be placed back within three of man thing.
That's some nice tech.
Loved the episode, can't wait for Nova. A couple thoughts, Man-Thing is essentially confirmed MS and Defenders, because he is on their timeliness affiliation list. I disagree that he will be flush with power. If opponents don't attack him he actually will have a hard time generating power with just a 5 dice builder and often getting 1 attack or needing to bump to get in range Lockjaw gets 4 power a turn not 3 which is big because his place or throw are online every turn. In MS lockjaw is also a safe grab.
@@obyiscushobbyandgaming Brad forgot that Timelines exists.
@@CritHitWild that's a fair thing to forget :P
Would it be too much to request Jeff the Land Shark and Jonathan the Unstoppable for trivia?
I'm so glad that Fred doesn't read the comments. This is a great idea. Might do Tippy Toe the squirrel, too.
Really good episode!
Sentinels
We did Sentinels in episode 29
@CritHitWild I didn't go back that far. Now I have. That was a decent episode and really highlights the meta shift from back then.
with cruelty they can attack 4 times
I'm going to suggest Crystal.
Added her to our list.
yo I'm gonna request mr sinister and omega red
Both of these are already on our list. Omega Red comes out today!
Ouch Fred! Silver surfer is my favorite character of all comic universes. Lol I forgive you. Mephisto can be a very delicate character in mcp. But, if you know exactly what you are gonna do with him and protect him, he is incredible. Doesn't edge out new loki for me but damn close
so small thing for freds idea for them going after hulks is hulk is immune to stun so cant then be staggered by there second attack and then thrown off the third now does work if someone else staggers hulk but they themselves cant do it
I proxied wrecking crew yesterday for a game on spider portals senators and they did really well under shadowland daredevil
This was a cool video. I hope you all do a video on Wrecking Crew eventually.
Next Recalibration Matrix Segment: Giant’s Blood
Off the top Thor2, Jane, Juggernaut (Tactics) have size 4 L throws as well. I agree that throws seem like they are becoming attacks and not powers.
let's go I've been waiting for this episode
I am going to be running a monster mash list. The meta be damned. But i think all of these open affiliations need a serious rethink. They are not healthy for the game as a whole... either drop them from competitive play or look at a threat cap restriction so as an example dracula could not take a 6 threat in affiliation.
Interesting Idea
why would you think they are not good for the game? the already have much less if any affiliation TT cards, nothing stopping you from taking 6 threat out of affiliation in other factions. Emma is already restricted with Hellfire being on restricted list which is a big downside
I'm interested how Fred plays electro on D secures cuz I have not had much success
What are you talking about, Dracula dead and loving it is fine.
I think the Thralls card is the wrong version/wording because the Panel to Play article is written to imply his teammates heal themselves. Hopefully we get clarification before November! Cheers guys, thanks for the great listens!
This would not be the first time whoever wrote the Panel to Play got something wrong.
No love for Squirrel Girl as the 4th model who dodges death, Tippy bites the dust instead?
@@jamesdye5695 not enough people playing her locally. We just didn’t think of her.
@@CritHitWild I sadly can't find a good list for her to go into either. A-Force and Avengers are so bloated with good expensive models that do more sadly.
I am proud brad rounds 4-6 are for the birds
Man 5 point viper seems pretty bad ;)
So... I have a few games under my belt in TTS. I do not agree at all with most of the things said about Apocalypse when you were all talking negatively. He has all of the positives that you mentioned, his tactics cards i never used. Apocalypse wants to fight on E shaped maps, and he is incredibly powerful there. His Celestial Technology is actually busted beyond belief. Grabbing a character from 5 and bringing them into the fore of the fight, especially Honey Badger is game changing, no one out rotates this faction. War, Death, and Famine are likely to be the only cards run. Death on Honey Badger for value, War on Beast, Cable, Deadpool, Sabretooth, or Wolverine is going to be good... And you will never use the super power, its there to generate Evolution Tokens. Famine on Magic is absolutely absurd, she has a place and you give her another place... Can't imagine how that could be good especially if you Technology her closer. I think Gambit, and Iceman are decent flex' in the list, especially if you have Sinister free Iceman to Stagger or kill a model from Cloning Banks is fun, and decently hard to play around. I have never used Remade through me. With the play pattern of Famine on Magik, go grab an extract, have 2 evolution tokens after your first activation. If anyone goes to threaten her Apocalypse gets to spend those tokens to famine jump towards them and eat them for (insert favorite meal here). If they dont Cable is now primed to bully someone, with war you start your evolution gain again. Honey Badger eats attacks directed at anyone you need her to. I personally think he is a B+ to an A-. I think his affiliation is going to be one of the better affilitations in the game, but everyone is trying it out, and it has a unique playstyle that most arent used to thus leading to losses.
@@jamesdye5695 Brad: I’m excited to play him. I’ll be trying some of this tech out, along with a bunch of other stuff. Glad you are having success with him.
Didn’t they say Else was a 3?
@@ravensguard_3227 🤷♂️
Bob does not work that way. He only dazes by having damage placed on him
@@bleakanomaly7214 Steven has been informed. No one checked him during the cast.
Great cast always. I think Enkantu the mummy will be 4 threat, with an area hex power. Frankenstein's monster a 5 threat. And man-thing a 6 threat. Also IMO, I think apocalypse's portal power is fantastic. Expensive yes but fantastic. Especially under kingpin and on demons of downtown. And I believe Bob won't work for deal with the devil or apocalypse's card.
Nice timing
Nice cast
Great cast. AA seems like another fun release from AMG. Are you able to bump up the volume for the videos? They are very quiet
I want a video with Fred in a lab coat, picking up black dwarf in one hand and malekith in the other. Then some shots of him examining them separately then him pushing the bottom of there base together and being amazed.
He sent an image to the group chat of their bases put together right after we were done.
