FISM 1988 The Hague (rehearsal)
This is a home video recording of an early rehearsal of the act I performed for the FISM 1988 World Championship which took place in The Hague, Holland. The clip shows me at Joachim Wolf's, aka Marnac, at a yearly gathering he called "The Magic Coffee" (it was much more than that!). I made some minor changes after this show, but essentially that was it. It got me 2nd prize in the category of Card Magic, with 0,9 points out of 100 behind my late friend Pepe Carroll from Spain, as a judge later told me.

This is an early interpretation of mine of the Vernon-Ganson "Trick That Cannot Be Explained". The clip is extracted from the DVD that comes with my book "The Art of Switching Decks" (Hermetic Press, USA 2013). The video was never meant to go out, and came courtesy of Richard Kaufman, as it was a private recording from the 75th Genii Anniversary Convention in 2012, hence the low quality. Howeve...

Virgen santa
Muchas gracias por compartirlo❤
Qué grandioso era Tamariz, mago y payaso a la vez. Inimitable
I have all 5 Volumes of Card College at home. I recognize the beginning, but what is the trick with the 4 aces called, where he counts 3 additional cards on each of them?
It's a classic plot in cardmagic called "Ace Assembly". I don't think any version is described in the Card College series. Perhaps you'll find a version in one of his other books.
Actually in volume 3, there's a trick inspired by Lin Searles titled "The Four Seasons". It is an Ace Assembly, but it's not the one performed here. I guess you can create your own version of this plot by trying to figure out what he did there.
Wow, thanks for sharing Mr. Giobbi! P.s.: Ich liebe das Schwyzerdütsch :D Schade, dass Sie dann englisch gesprochen haben
Holy sh*t - Mr Giobbi, das ist mega!
Fantastic 😊😊
Bellissimo!
I absolutely love you Mr. Giobbi!!! Your philosophy and really giving the cards character is so inspiring in this art! Your books are just incredible! And you yourself match the jovial nature of the card college series. Thank you good sir!
Esecuzione magistrale, come sempre. Gestione dell’attenzione dello spettatore, tempi… incredibile.
I was really excited when I read Roberto Giobbi's Lucky Coin a few years ago in Card College 2 (DVD) saw. Among other things, because it is connected to a little story - the Lucky Coin that you carry with you and of course the charming way in which Gentleman R. Giobbi performs it. Inspired by this, I wondered whether there was an alternative way of handling the coin to find the card - without the top change. The result is the use of a stripper deck (which allows the spectator to shuffle and cut te deck himself) in combination with the Equivoque /Magician's Choice, in which the spectator eliminates a pack of 2 by walking over it with the coin. Of course, what's left is the pack with the card underneath... which is then brought all the way to the top by alternating stacking of cards from bottom to top (which actually looks like random shuffling).
Bravo
Brilliant 😊😊😊
Fantastic performance! Watched it twice and realized your books have taught me everything needed to do this! Thank you for everything you've taught me through your works Sir!
It's always a great experience to watch you perform magic. I also appreciate what you do for teaching the art of magic. You are one of the best. Best regards also from Canada (Québec). 👍
P.S. Thank you very much Roberto for all your work, passion and dedication you share on the craft of magic. Best regards from Canada.
Stupendo effetto performato perfettamente come sempre!
Really a very nice trick from a really great master like Roberto! But I have to admit I was really surprised to see that the 4 cut cards were not 4 aces but only one! Roberto has wonderfully made all the "magical moves" for them to be the 4 aces, not just one. So I was shocked to see the nine, the five and the three.... Well, it is magic! 🙂
Liked the handling given in vol. 1 but I loved that handling of the trick. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for sharing this. 🙂👍👍
Great performance I can get how he did it to the point where he hid the blue card on the double lift with K of diamond
Absolutely amazing skills sir. You blow me away every time
This is my favorite color change. Got it down pat thanks to card college. Thanks
So smooth! GREAT!
very good routine but i like Juan Tamariz version better very similar handling but he has very funny presentation with a song/melody and amazing climax
Very good! Grazie caro Roberto 👏
Excellent! Thank you for sharing Roberto
Herr Giobbi, einfach toll, Ihnen zuzusehen! Freue mich über mehr Videos :-)
Thanks so much for sharing. There must be so much vintage gold like this that, sadly many of us will never see.
Thank you for posting this! I like Cervon's streamlined final load version very much!
Wonderful 😊
I just bought the card college lightest and I'm really enjoying it. Thank you Roberto
A little to long of a routine, but absolutely the BEST card to wallet handling I've ever seen. And I've seen alot. I couldn't for the life of me catch the palm. So smooth. This was MAGIC!
Mr. Giobbi's magic is so wonderful. Spectators love the moments of astonishment that he creates, and magicians can appreciate so many subtle nuances infused in every moment of both handling and patter. A remarkable magician /teacher.
Rather dragged out.
I like the performance.
Is any of this available in a Giobbi book or download?
Such a wonderful beautiful performance Sir. 👍😊👍😊👍😊
Wonderful, Roberto!
Bellissimo
Awesome!
Fantastic little routine that 👏👏
This is the one piece out of Card College I perform all the time, and have done for years, it’s fantastic 👍🏼👏
what volume is this out of?
@@aidanr9164I believe it's in volume 5
In a post by Jason Ladayne i came across Mr G's books Card College.
Wonderful piece of close-up Magic and thank you so much for not revealing how this is done on the internet I know I shouldn't have to say it but thank you real magicians and old school magicians appreciate this😊
Stupendo.
Is this trick in your Card College books? I have the whole library of the volumes but I can't find this trick in it.
