I would put you in the douchebag category
Etienne Calsac?
Egly Ouriet, Bruno Paillard, Bereche, Chartogne-Taillet, Dhont-Grellet, Champagne Tellier, Pierre Moncuit, Robert Moncuit, Leclerc Briant, Michel Fallon, Champagne Doyard, Champagne Vilmart & Cie, Leherte Frères
cooool. added to the list of upcoming episodes. some of those have been already suggested but its good :)
This bottle is at a shop near where I live. $5500, but you can get 20% off with first order.
Lol. Good luck with that ☺️ please make a video how the bottle was ☺️
I had a rosé cuvee recently, with around 20 bottle age. TBH, it was a touch past it's best, but the complexity was amazing with a umami style mixed with red berry skin flavours. As you allowed the wine to rest in the wide bowled glass and reach room temperature, it really came alive and performed. One for the vintage collectors more so, but still a tasting experience I was happy to be part of...
yesh. those are beautiful when they age but i do still love them couple of years after the release the most. :)
Great video thank you very much. Where do you put Drappier and Bruno Paillard?
good ones. I will add them to the list for the future parts.
Brilliant video. For Part 3 would love to hear your opinion on any of these - Bereche et Fils, vouette & sorbee, Olivier horiot, Egly-Ouriet, benoit dehu, Sebastian Mouzon, famille mouse, Adrien Renoir, Christophe Mignon, Jaquesson, and R Pouillon…
sooo cool :) thanks for those will add them to the list of the part 3 and 4 :)
Hi Edward! I'm going to open a bottle of DP P2 2004 the day after tomorrow. Can you please tell me if I should let it sit open for an hour after I've drunk a third of the bottle? You mentioned this in your video from a year ago when you were drinking it with friends in Serbia. Has anything changed in the last year?
hi, great question. so simply when drinking superb bubbles I like to usually chill the bottle in a fridge so it will be 6-8 Celcius. then during the first hour drink 1/3 of the bottle then for the remaining 2/3 it depends of course how many people and bottles you have but personally would like it to last about an hour too. maybe I'll do a separate video on this enjoying bubbles :)
@ Ok! Thanks for the answer! We are just 2 people, so I’m going to follow your instructions
@@stealsteal628 perfect plan. then it will be cool. have some other bottle also open if you are one of the thirsty ones. :)
You are missing a few of my favourite Champagnes! I'd love you to review my list of favourites... PS: I do love de Venoge - I've a bottle of the extra Brut 1979 purchased directly from Gilles when I was at his place in Epernay, maybe we should taste it together and share our notes my friend!
shoot me a msg of the ones I need to review. Will add them to part 3 :) Just started to collect the houses for that one. :) oh 1979 is a superb vintage. I won't say no for that invite, i'll arrange myself to London to drink :D
@EdwardOfChampagne Michel Gonet. Roger Brun. Drappier. Alexandre Bonnet. Frerejean Frères. Paul Launois. De Sousa. Boizel.
Merci, I'll add those to my list of future ones :)
Fun video, great to hear your thoughts. I agree with most but not Billecart, their Elizabeth, Louis and Nicholas and of course Clos Saint-Hilaire are nothing short of exceptional. I also like they are trying new things with the Rendezvous range.
Thanks, glad u enjoyed the video. :) yeah Billecart will certainly have a new review soon. for me the problem is like I stated the top cuvées are not what they used to be. :( need to guide some of my drinking towards Billecart-Salmon :)
Agree with most tbh. Unsure re Moet & Chandon's high position and de Venoge I'd rank higher as their older Louis 15th vintages I love... it's all about personal opinions though, makes wine interesting!
you are so right on the personal opinions those are the ones that makes all of this interesting, how we taste, feel the cuvées.
Thank you for your videos! I have just discovered your channel and it’s all very interesting. I have been dreaming of trying Selosse so was curious to see how you placed him and the uproar in some comments. I adore Ulysse Collin though. Have you come across Olivier Horiot by any chance? Would love to know what you think of his Solera cuvee if you have tried it. Will you be rating makers like Philipponat, Egly-Ouriet and La Closerie at some point? Thank you for the brilliant channel!
Hi, thanks for your kind words. I'm just beginning with my youtube adventures and really feeling the support from you guys finding my channel, thanks. Everyone should taste Selosse as well as a lot of other Champagnes. Yes I like Horiot very much. I prefer from him his Rosé and the Metisse. Yes Philipponant was on the latest one and will do a third video where I will feature Egly and La Closerie :)
feel free to suggest more houses to rate :)
Last time i drank champagne i had an asthma attack. Not a condition I've ever suffered from before bit since then it's happened with pink gin also. Champagne was Boll & Cie.
Try Deutz ☺️
Never tasted the 1969. I have tasted the 1979, 1981 and 1988. First suggested as a separate cuvee by Cyril Ray.
The'69 was insane but for me the '73 was the immortal one. I found that he has written a book about Bollinger. I found the book will read it and see what he says about the house. :) Thanks for this.
So Selosse is worse than Laurent Perrier or Henriot.... lol; and this is due to fact they were better 10 years ago? Jesus
you got it all wrong. but thats okay.. It is not a competition.. I've had about 200 bottles of Selosse in the last 15 years.. i like it and respect a lot. But for that style I prefer Ulysse Colin more.. Now the quality of Selosse is not as it used to be. also the prices reflect its on a high trend. Paying 500€ (or 1000€) for a single Lieux-dit bottle.. I would rather use that money to buy Henriot or LP Rosé yes, as I know that is the answer you are looking fore.. But if someone has not yet drank the hype of Selosse out of them I do understand there is a need to drink and take photos of it..
I've a bottle in the fridge... I await the special moment 😊
Which one? 😍
Jam-packed with great info! I haven't nearly tasted these producers so love the commentary and ratings, feels like I'm learning things!
thanks bro. I'm happy you enjoy it. I really enjoyed creating this video and will surely do more of this type of content. :)
Not far off what I would have ranked them! I would find it hard to place the Henri Giraud for personal reasons and I somewhat agree with the Krug placement - I await to hear your placement for Roederer / Cristal!
wow cool. we have lot of similarities in our taste. :) yeah we all have those bubbles that are close to hearth. I'm so happy that my closest, dearest ones are delicious so won't have any dilemma with it. :D Cristal Roederer coming soon to Patreon and next week to youtube. :)
I have a 1995 Dom Perignon bottle I purchased back in 1997. It has been with me stored in a dark cabinet on its side and has been stored in my fridge in the last 10 years on its side. Straight to the point question. If I open it will I die or will I throw it up😂. What are the signs if it has gone bad?
95 Dompe was not launched until 2003/04 depending where you live. Don’t worry if it is not in good shape you will know from the scent it will be unpleasant. If you taste raisins it means its not in shape.. DP ’95 drinks beautifully now, hope you have a good bottle ☺️🙏🏻🍾🍾
I do not like champage. I prefer orange juice. I do not like the taste of alcohol but I like the taste of orange. Oranges are fruit and fruit tastes good. I might just drink orange juice today! I also like apple juice, and pear juice, and watermelon juice!
I like fermented grape juice.
Mm i want to drink one bottle of Dom Perignon 🎉❤
Beautiful idea, go for it!!
Yesterday just finished my Moët & Chandon Rosé. It was amazing 😍 i just imagine what it's to drink champagne with so good prepared and very stylish man like you. One day if you come to Bulgaria i promise to set one wine experience for us 😜 of course if you want! Will be pleasure to me. ❤ @@EdwardOfChampagne
Great 😍 i like Moët Rosé too, if you have a chance try Henriot Rosé too its delicious. Shoot me a msg on insta, ill msg u when i am there, loads of adventures will be planned for 2025 and 2026 😍🍾🍷
@@EdwardOfChampagne Yes, this year will be fulfilled with new adventures and pleasures of life ...i LOVE ❣️ life and will be amazing to share something special! 🍾🥂🥂🥂
@@EdwardOfChampagne Henriot Cuvée Hamera 2006 or 2013 which one is better? I am so thankful for your advice 😊🙏 Thank you!
What the fuck is this supposed to be?
a short youtube video
@EdwardOfChampagne it's not very well put together though, is it? It cuts off mid sentence, there's a lot of umming and ahhing, and it really just comes down to a picture of a wine list.
Thats called nodo Agnelli and is in deed a Style Choice …but on the other Hand recommending Lugana is a pure Warcrime!!!
Cool. Agnelli had a lot of spesific style choices. ☺️ but what do you have against Lugana? 🤔
A cheaper more affordable option is the Gucci Store in L.A! Same Chef!!
Yeah i know they also do Gucci store. ☺️
What's the point of this???
Point of the video? 🤔
For someone apparently so concerned with perfection please re-do your necktie so that the thin end is not longer than the wider part. 😂
That is done on purpose like so. It does not bother me. ☺️
Great video Edward. Very interesting to hear your thoughts on their wine list.
Glad you enjoyed it. ☺️🍾🍾🍷🍷
😅😮
:)
Which vintages aren't worth the price?
All my knowledge i poured within my book.. but all vintages are, just depends what you paid.. and what is the bottle condition.
Bro is gettin flamed in the comments :D En tout cas, rien à foutre 🤷♂️ Shaken or stirred, its your bottle.
Some of the comments were really funny 😂😂 had me laugh out loud 😂
I did not like it =(
Sadness 😿
Hi Edward, advise please. I have a bottle of 1995 Dom Perignon Rose boxed, how do I value it and where’s the best place to sell it ? Many thanks, Andy.
Don't sell it, drink it. Its absolutely great. :) value depends on to whom you sell. if you sell to end consumer or a middle man who resells the bottle. There are plenty of online auctions where you can put the bottle up.. but I would still recommend drinking it.
Nice background man 😂
Thanks 😅
Don't agree. 2015 far better. 2012 better 2010 too. 2008 the best
2015 is not yet reaching its first peak.. 2012 is superb to all.. 08 is starting to drink, soon.. 2010 is a good vintage but is not a member of the conversation when speaking of these vintages..
Who is this so-called Expert? The 2008 Dom is one of the greatest champagnes of the last 25 years, well worth seeking out. Drink now or cellar for a few more years.
hi I am Edward, the writer of the first book on Dom Pérignon. www.DrinkingDomPerignon.com And the ’08 is not yet on its first peak altho starting to open up, finally.
Nu ca vi na voda uma cristal
Ok 😂
This guy dresses like it’s 2005
Impossible. Suit is made in 2021.
What do you think about the Rosé 2000?
beautiful :) it was the first DP Rosé I've ever had.
@ oh great to hear!
You re so cute edi
Habibiiii i thought we lost you
We're doomed 🎉
lol yeah. prices will continue to rise.
Where do you find 40+ yo bottles in such pristine condition?
that is my skill i've been perfecting since 2010. a lot of practice and bad bottles led to this. :) also why i wish to share this journey here so people could actually see what it is like to hunt and drink rare and fine wines. :)
I could……they suck😂
Thats your personal opinion and it is dead wrong 😂
Would love too😊
🍾🍾
Let us know how it 😊
There is a full length video of that on my youtube ☺️
Very well done video! I have been a huge fan of D.P. for many years, and I am eagerly awaiting the release of the 2008 P2. You really can't go wrong with a bottle of Dom.
totally agree with you. and thanks for the nice words. that was one of the first videos I did, the whole seires on Dom Pérignon. :) if you love Dompe, have you checked out my book on Dom Pérignon?
I am waiting with baited breath for the 2008 P2, and hopefully the P3 later. (Bollinger has released their "RD" version of the 2008, and it was wonderful).
I'm more waiting for the P2 2012. but yeah it will be curious to see the P2 of '08. :) i like the RD too :)
I like to order a very expensive bottle of wine then proceed to mix it with cheap lemonade and guzzle it down through a straw.
you can do what you want.
@@EdwardOfChampagne Not everything I want.

whoops :D

lol
Very good content 😮
thank you! :)
