NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. I have a Singer merritt serger & there is some kind of complex interaction between the R & L looper. There is some special trick to getting these to loop & I have not figured it out. Your video does not say anything about how to get the R & L threads to loop with each other.
Your one looper probably has a hole at the elbow of the hook to run the string down to the hole at the end.

I purchased this machine used about a month ago. It is like brand new. Is there any way that I can get the accessory compartment and the accessories? This was not with my serger. Also, how do I go about getting the necessary pieces to add the 5th spool and thread? Thank you.

I use this machine every time I sew. I have an old Brother my mom left me and a Singer. I like to have a dark and a light threaded machine. The brother is great, but I really don’t care for the Singer. Now that’s the one that I can’t figure out, just to do a regular overlock. My Huskylock 936 must of had a power serge, because my sewing advisor just has lines going across it. 😩. It’s still does the overlock. Just have to touch the “A” auto button, to make it work. It has such a great looking stitch. I wish I could find a replacement for that Sewing Advisor. If anyone knows where I could get one plz let me know. It’s my favorite.

thinking about getting this model. found one locally that's basically brand new in the box. curious how i find out what thickness material i can sew and what thread sizes. thanks.
Just watched the coverstitch conversion section. After 5 hours of trying to get my machine to sew correctly I found out the lower looper threading in the video is wrong!
This video has been terrific, up until I tried to sew the cover stitch wide. I threaded it according to the video. Each time I started to stitch the first 2 or 3 stitches the video says to stop and clip the threads behind the needles. I have done this, then rethreaded cut just the needle threads, still not successful. Then cut the right needle a thread always broke. The comment above stated the lower looper was threaded wrong in the video. What is the correct way to thread the lower looper? I have tried to study the diagram in the owners manual, very hard to read. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
@@anitat6393 at 43:55 it says to follow the purple dots thru this area. Do not place the thread over the second dot (the one on the left) only place in the first purple dot that also has a pink dot from here go up to the loopers as the purple dots show. Hope this is clear.
Thank you for answering my question. I rethreaded the lower looper, but it was correct from your description. The upper looper threaded through the needle keeps breaking. Thank you for your suggestion.

i know it’s been a while since this video was made but my sewing machine keeps jamming. does anyone know how to fix this??
could be a few things probably that would cause that. i would recommend making sure you know how to use and adjust everything, then you'll be sure not to be causing the jamming. For example, do you know how to adjust the tension of the bobbin case? And do you know why you would want to increase or decrease that tension? If you learn all there is to learn about the different settings and adjustments, then you might realize exactly why it's jamming.

Well, it only took a global pandemic for me to start sewing. Mom started to cry and gifted me her White 1455 Heavy Duty. Your video explains alot. I have alot to learn. Thank you.
