Plan Boommarter ('Pine Marten Plan') intents to create a single zone of around 2000 hectares in Halle by connecting the forest cores of the Hallerbos, and the nearby Lembeekbos and Maasdalbos, with several smaller forest areas such as the Malakoff area and the Warandepark. Thereby, we create a habitat that becomes valuable for many animal species such as the pine marten. This should also offer a much more pleasant living environment for humans.
