At the time of creating this channel, in October 2023, I was fairly new to hiking and the outdoors. I’m learning as I go and am really enjoying this hobby. There are so many positives to hiking (fitness, views, nature, peacefulness) that I can’t see myself stopping anytime soon.
I’m based in Sydney, Australia. I’m using the channel to document my journeys and I hope you enjoy the videos. I’m also learning as I go with the video editing and quality, but am getting better and keen to improve further.

Walk Meadowbank Wharf to Cabarita Wharf return
Просмотров 55Месяц назад
I did this 23km walk in preparation for a charity walk. This was done in late October 2024, starting from Meadowbank Wharf and walking along the various bays of the Parramatta River all the way up to Cabarita Wharf, and then returning back to the start. Very enjoyable walk with plenty of interesting sights and scenic views along the way.

I did something a little different than my usual hiking activities. In preparation for a charity walk I did a lengthy 16km plus walk, starting at Meadowbank Park, then going through Ermington, over Silverwater Bridge, Sydney Olympic Park area, Newington, Wentworth Point, Rhodes and then returning to Meadowbank. Along the way I visited the Woo-la-ra lookout and Brickpit Ring Walk. Really enjoyab...
Urban Hiking Spit Bridge to Manly

I did this walk in early October 2024, starting at Spit Bridge and walking to Manly wharf. This walk has some of the most scenic water views in Sydney and is highly recommended. It's 10-11km long and takes around 3 hours to complete. It's a fairly easy walk with not much uphill. Beautiful views around every corner.

I own both the Osprey Exos 48 and the Durston Kakwa 55, two of the better lightweight backpacks on the market. In this video I give a visual overview of each pack's features. I also give my verdict on which backpack I prefer.

Did this beautiful hike in the Blue Mountains in September 2024. I started off going to the Fortress Rock Lookout and then carried on to the main trail, enjoying great views over the Grose Valley. Terrific hike, highly recommended.
Hiking Helensburgh to Otford via Burning Palms Beach & Figure 8 Pools

Did this hike in September 2024 and covered a bit over 18km. Didn’t check the train timetable and realised too late they come every 2 hours on the weekend from Otford. Had an annoying 90 minute wait, but that was the only downside. Great scenery on this hike. Very enjoyable and very different to the hikes I’ve done thus far. Highly recommended.
Hiking Canberra (Mount Arawang Loop and Mount Painter)

Went for a weekend getaway from Sydney to Canberra with the family in early September 2024. Before visiting the local urban sites I squeezed in a couple of early morning hikes at Mount Arawang Loop and Mount Painter. Both of these were short hikes and Mount Painter was the clear winner for views.

SOTO Thermostack Cooker Combo (unboxing)
Ive the Eja 48 ( same just woman's version) and im itching to get the Kakwa. I love the Eja back system but thats about it. Although you can remove the brain you need to be an engineer to get it back on lol and i hate the side straps, its just a faffy pack with pointless stuff. Think the channel is called Hiking with Rae and she puts a bit of a sit pad on the back at the bottom and it seems to make air flow much easier 🙂
Yeah I agree with your criticisms. I’ve kind of gone off Osprey packs (I’ve got too many, need to offload some) since getting the Kakwa. I’m looking to get the even lighter Wapta 30 when Durston restocks them in the New Year.
雪梨很漂亮,我也喜歡到處走走拍拍,謝謝分享
Do you own either of these packs? What do you like or dislike about them?
Thanks for the kind comments, I appreciate it!
Absolutely gorgeous work, such a lovely atmosphere my friend!
