I don’t know if other people know this, but this also means that the avatar state will be weakened *EXPONENTIALLY.* The avatar state combines the knowledge and power of all the other avatars from past lives, and we all know that Korra is not then brightest avatar out there, nor is she the strongest. With only Korra at the start, the avatar state for the next avatar will only have the power infused from him and Korra. If you still don’t understand, just imagine Aang in his avatar state, the combined powers of Roku, Kyoshi, Kuruk, Yangchen, etc, therefore making so powerful. The next avatar (Genji) will only have the combined power of him and Korra. Two people. Aang has thousands of combined people, while Genji will have two. The avatar state almost collapsed, and it will take another ten thousand years to build it up to its former glory again, but I don’t think all the avatars in its prime can take on the other avatars in their prime from ten thousand years before. I hope that something CAN be restored back so that she can connect to the other avatars like Aang again.

Just proves how trash of an avatar Korra is. She’s stubborn, arrogant, and can’t even use the avatar state correctly. Not only that but she’s never won a fight alone.

Guys, remember that every next avatar try to fix the consequences of the previous avatar so I think writers will give the opportunity to the next avatar, fix and reconnect all the past avatars. Aang did the same with Roku when the 100th war existed, he ended the war that Roku couldn’t stop!

I have to watch this show fully because as much as everyone hates Korra. It's hurts seeing the person who probably was most eager to perform her Avatar duties and then end up being the one to come so close to breaking the cycle

Raava is one with the spirits of the Avatars so their past lives are most likely not lost entirely, rather suppressed. If the next Avatar, in their quest for balance, were to focus deep within themself to reconnect with those past lives through meditation or some other method, they may be restored.

What were the writers thinking when they did this ? They basically killed the show in a single minute. The avatar is supoosed to reincarnate and have access to their past lives. Destroying that...killed the entire premise and just turned Korra into a basic superhero *like 100s of other superheroes already in pop media* The writers took the one aspect of the Avatar's powers that's unique and destroyed it. Lame. Bad writing choice

I hated this fight, it made no sense unlaq's avatar state should be able to match Korra's at all since she is thousands of avatars raw power to use and he has himself. Then when the dark spirit ripped raava out, its more annoying that korra just fucking sits there letting it happen and the lightspirit doesn't even try to do anything. Like why are you both suddenly stun locked? Dumb dumb decision by the show.
