    My favorite episode is the 1st _I Have Too Much To Do._ Because when you experience that feeling is when you need help THE MOST. It’s such a cold, miserable feeling. At least you have each other- and us to vent to.

    • @LarsRothschildHenriksen
      @LarsRothschildHenriksen 2 месяца назад

      Exactly, you can really feel it, when you notice those feelings. I can think of several people who probably should have noticed but didn't in time, sadly leading to burnout. And yes, indeed it helps to have someone to share it with! It really helps with the reflection process, at least for me. Although I don't think you necessarily need a whole podcast to share it with 😂

    in GTD perspective I think it is a shame that you cannot take a task from a project (planner/loop) and put it in a next action category as @ computer, @work, and so one.

      Completely agree, Kristian. We're SO close now to having really good collaborative GTD-supporting tools in the Microsoft world - fingres crossed that you can soon! E.g. mail and To Do integration used to also be fixed and you can move them around now, so maybe 🤞🏻

    Lars how are you differentiating between Have To and Want To in Apple Reminders? I am playing with separate projects lists, separate next actions lists, Tags, and even flag - none of them please me.

    • @LarsRothschildHenriksen
      @LarsRothschildHenriksen 6 месяцев назад

      Very good question! And it's one, where I have not found the perfect solution either. I use dates for both types right now, reflecting in the morning on the days "dues" and treating them accordingly. For now I am sticking to this approach, but as I am also using my calendar for checklist related Have-To's, I might move them to the calendar at some point. It just gives me an overwhelming calendar some days, which also doesn't please me... If you come up with a good solution, please be sure to let me know! Also, I'm curious as I see quite a few "timestamp-comments" (?) from you - can I ask you about these?

    I would have liked to see some screen sharing etc, so we could see some stuff. also the intergration with notes, I want to intergrate across notes, i am setting up and I want to link to my projects. handling the project planning, and linking to a task list is somthing I am not yet able to do it. Thank you for the video.

    • @LarsRothschildHenriksen
      @LarsRothschildHenriksen 8 месяцев назад

      Can't argue with you on the screen sharing part. The reason is simply that our background is the audio version of the podcast, so we're always very mindful not alienate them. But in this case, it certainly would have helped. As for linking Notes with Reminders, it seems that there's a bug right now on MacOS. I just tested and it doesn't work for now. However, I'm pretty sure it's a bug, as on my iPad it works just fine... So hopefully Apple will fix this soon, it's a pretty nice feature when you need to link things as you describe 😊

    Refering back to my questions regarding the use of context which you answered in episode 96 or 94? 😉 Your (Lars) annoyance or even disgust regarding the fun actions and the not so fun actions on the same list kind of klicked for me. In the past I always started to think about contexts from the contexts point of view by asking myself "Under which circumstances will I use that list?" That brought me to the classic ones house/garden/office/computer and so on, which didn't really worked for me. I will definetly think different about contexts and lists in the future. Something like "Which action items should battle for my attention under which circumstances?" Maybe due to this kind of switch I might be able to identify the right contexts for me at the moment. 😀

    Longtime podcast listener here from the UK!! Love the show and your English is perfect!👌🏻👏🏻I was torn on which channel to post to so lucky you! I have read GTD and listened to every episode on the podcast but here is my sticking point, maybe a question for the podcast…? when it comes to GTD and emails (outlook) I never see the emails go down… say I get an email which will take longer than 2 minutes and I will flag it to action tomorrow at say 10am. This handy flag will now automatically show up in To Do which is great to manage my tasks. where should I move my email to…? I do have an action folder in Outlook which is where it would generally go, trouble is I will be reminded about the task tomorrow in To Do (and outlook) mark it as complete in To do but to then go and then archive the email out of the action never happens….! So I end up with a load of emails that need to my brain thinking again…! I am on the road 70% of the time so To Do is ideal to keep track of key tasks but I always feel I am doubling up on my emails. iPhone user and windows laptop are my tools, any tips on this topic would be great, many thanks Jimmy Ps apologies to Morton…I will drop him a comment next time😉

      I am not a GTD trainer, but I am an avid GTD practitioner. I wonder if the longer-than-two-minute emails could be dragged to an "action required" folder (3: organize), right after you define the next action (2: clarify). Then, try to create a habit to check that "action required" folder every day (4: reflect/review). For example, depending on how you feel at various hours of the day, you could decide that you'd like to check this folder as the last work-related task each workday, or perhaps the first one. Perhaps you might do it right after lunch, or with your first sip of morning coffee. This can be a time when you can archive the emails that you already replied to, and you might also choose to carry out some actions as you look through that folder (5: engage/do). Last but not least, it might be "GTD Heresy," but I turned my two-minute rule into a five-minute rule. It results in fewer email-related tasks clogging up my next actions list.

    As always, informative, helpful and entertaining. Lars, your German is impeccable. Morten, your coffee mug is really nerdy 😉. Try some delicious Espresso, takes less time to drink😊. KR. Marco
