We nearly FAILED! After our external fuel pump overheated and failed Sunday, we tucked our tails and ran back home. I have a 4.8 w/120,000 1 lifter laminated and the whole engine sounded like it was coming apart.The lifters are Shit!

I'm doing a similar swap in one of my Conquests (I've already done a Ford 5.0/T5 swap in another one, also with the Sniper system) but anyway, I'm running an L94 (Aluminum 6.2) and a TH400 auto, for grins and giggles I weighed both the G54B w/ 5-speed complete from throttlebody to oil pan (with trans still connected) and all fluids, my G54B weighed in at 512lbs. I then weighed the L94 w/ TH400 that was missing a few components, intake and accessories, and that weighed in at 460lbs. I figure, add another 100lbs for the accessories and stuff that I was missing. It's always cool to see what other people have done with LS swaps in these cars! Thanks for the videos!

On the Sniper 2, There are two Adjustments screws with green springs around them. I really want to know what each screw adjusts? Like the front one (towards the front of the turck) adjusts _____ ? And the rear most one is for adjusting the _____________________?
I have a 3g Eclipse Spyder GT, I know Eclipse's look better lowered but for those of us that have to do life with the car, it's no good lowering it. I used to own a lowered 4g, and I had a very very low 2g that would scrape on everything, it sure looks cool but it's not fun banging around off every little road imperfection. With a normal suspension they ride so nice, your 2g looks nice man.

Run johnson lifters with link bars and get a btr cam!!! You'll be good to go...make sure you measure for every push rod and set them up right

Sniper 1 sucks.
Yup, I see this happen ALOT. The cheap lifter trays are about 1/2 as thick as the OEM trays. Allowing the lifters to spin and this is the outcome. When throwing money into a build... gotta do your research on absolutely everything. That one cheap piece can destroy it all
I bought the sniper 2 system. Didn't get there distributor. So was wondering if i can run my hei distributor. I'm guessing not . I'm assuming the system needs to change the timing on the fly.
The trays, always use dealer GM trays factory oem

Our buddy has since sold the car, but he drove it around for about two years with no problems at all.
How do they even get away with selling those pos lifter trays. That is insane. Almost as bad as you didn't put better trays in after being so ignorant to put the crap in a second time.
With the modified trans tunnel, were you able to put everything in the interior back to the way it was, like center console etc?
Not completely. We could have made the center stack fit but never got to it also this car was missing many of interior pieces when we bought it. With the size of the tunnel there is no way to fit the blower box or and heater core back in it.
We did just set the center console back with the original seat belts

I broke one of my lifter tray bolts and figured the headgasket will hold it in place? 😬 i just put the engine together they are michigan motorsports trays what is your opinion? Should i run it and will i be abl e to hear it and catch it early there is a problem?

Oem lifter trays are required anything other gm will fail unless there from michigan motor sports or brain tooley and yes cheap lifter trays will flex and soften up with heat

Saw a few people on youtube have the same issue with Ebay lifter trays. They are loose and let the lifters rotate. Your not the only one. That really sucks! sorry brother.

Yes this car has made me nothing but sad. Especially running it to 7500 rpm. Nothing but sadness 😩
Carbs rule. Easy to bolt on and off when there are issues and no electronics. Well unless u have an electric carb

It happens man I’m currently tearing apart my l99 6.2 for lifter failure but mine was dirty oil. Keep fresh oil always
My 08 ls3 vette at 90,000 miles still looks great valve train wise. I'm swapping in some Morel limited travel tie bar lifters and chucking the buckets and using the the stock cam. They ran great in my ls2 418 w/ ls3 heads. The Morel lifters have to have .050 less push rods! 4.350. Had no problem to 7300-7400. The 418 is going to get swapped out for a 427 ls3 block, CamMotion solid roller for 7600 rpm. They have some good valve train parts cheap and they can help u out on the phone any time.

Great video, it sounded like it bogged pretty bad at 18:11. These stock packages might be better with the 2300 2 barrel instead of 800cfm 4 barrels. Seems like way too much for a stock package. Good work for the timeframe.

@@PawPawsSpeedshop I've got a friend with a stock 65 Mustang he wants to go EFI and I'm concerned about the size. I called Holley and was told Sniper 2 won't bog like a carb. I haven't installed one of these systems yet but it seemed to me a stock 289 geared, automatic, stock exh would have the flat spot you guys confirmed. While the system will keep the fuel metered and suspended in the flow, vac/air flow should be very weak without vac secondaries setup. CI X target RPM divided by 3456. 289X5500/3456 is 459CFM The Sniper 2300 is 580cfm, anyway again good fun video, play safe out there.

Worked for Mitsubishi for 27 years and i never understood why they didn't put the 2.0 turbo in to begin with.

Wrong lifters. Those match to LS7 factory lifters To many RPMS for those lifters.Race lifters $600.00- $1000 high RPM.
Ls7 lifters are junk @ 7000 rpm in my opinion. Limited travel only or solids with roller tipped rockers.
