    The guy you bought the shafts from is getting factory seconds that's why you have to cut both ends sometimes. They sell seconds in bulk and repackage them.

    1k usd is nothing for a featherweight hunting rifle. For the longest time if you wanted a featherweight rifle in a carbon stock it was something you would have to order from custom gun makers and pay anywhere between 5-10k for. You can't have everything and I think the sacrifice made in rougher bolt feel is a concession well placed for the use case of this rifle. This is not a target or competition rifle after all, so a fast and smooth bolt is not really necessary. Most people will probably only ever have to make 2 or 3 shots at a maximum and will never even feel the need to buy another magazine. I think they were smart in focusing their efforts and resources on squaring and trueing the bolt, receiver and cold hammer forged barrel. The money spent there is what will help it be accurate and light which are the two main design criteria for this rifle anyway. I think this rifle is an excellent addition to the market and I welcome all of it's imperfections and quirks if it means I can have a featherweight rifle that shoots under a minute for 1k usd. Thanks for the vids was nice to watch keep them coming, I'm very eager to see some accuracy tests.

      Well you're not wrong, but I haven't shot it yet. I know I'm a bit behind on videos, it's been a crazy couple of weeks. My opinion, a Featherlite rifle is only as good as its reliability, in any price point. This thing can be as light and as badass as we all hope it to be, but if it doesn't shoot, or to my point, if it doesn't cycle, then saving that weight really doesn't benefit. Sacrificing saved weight for a lack of performance is not a win win for anyone.

    Check with McGuire Ballistics all copper bullets. They are in Cali. Also see what Hammer bullets has in all copper for 6.5mm. I have two 6.5CM and right now only shooting factory ammo including Norma 140 Whitetail, Norma 143 Bondstrike, and Seller & Bellot, their 131gr, 140gr, and 156gr but as you know all of these have lead. I do have a ton of 127 Barnes LRX for loading which I found an incredible 1/4" load for one of my 6.5-284 Norma rifles with a gain twist Bartlein barrel using Lapua brass and H1000. Also found a ton of factory Barnes Vortex in 6.5PRC with the same 127 LRX and it shoots pretty good in 3 of my 6.5PRCs. I'm interested to see your load work up for CM. I haven't decided if I'm going to buy dies and load for it or not. I just bought 8 pounds of VVN570 and VVN565, also 8 pounds. I looked at their website and the 565 seems to be a really good CM powder but I also have a lot of H4350 and IMR4350. From what I'm seeing that seems to be the go-to powder for the 6.5CM For what it's worth, the 6.5CM is the newest cartridge to me. I've never hunted any game animal with anything smaller. Tagged a deer this past season with the 143 Norma Bondstrike at about 70 yards. The CM performed like any other cartridge I've used. Bullet passed through and blood everywhere. She did manage to slowly run about 40 yards but was in a bean field.

    I respectfully disagree with the notion that those Barnes bullet tip abnormalities are cosmetic only and have no effect on accuracy. If that was the case, no one in the precision and competitive shooting industry would continue to trim their meplats on their HPBT bullets. Symmetric tips are most certainly a factor in repeatable accuracy. That said, I think inside 350 yards the tip asymmetry would not be overly noticeable. Beyond that, in my experience, it does. Barnes kindly sent me some replacement bullets last year for a different reason. And years ago when they first came out with their TTSX bullets I noticed way too many had plastic tips that were not seated all the way. You could easily see a gap between the top of the copper and bottom of the plastic. I called them and they acknowledged they were having an issue with their tipping machine. They told me the bullets I had would shoot fine, no issues. They were correct.

    SRP is SMALL rifle primer, not short rifle primer, just FYI. On brass length, for handloading, it's best if they are all the same length for improving consistent neck tension. It's also best if you trim as little as possible from max length since the short your trim the brass, the easier it is to build up a carbon ring in your chamber neck.

  • @Accuracy1st
    @Accuracy1st 6 месяцев назад

    You can send those bullets back to Barnes. They'll exchange them. I've had excellent results with LRX

    I've been riding for about 35 years and I've never understood why people stress over a few pounds. 3-4lbs makes no real difference while climbing, it just doesn't. Also a heavier bike makes you a stronger rider. I see people sacrifice comfort all the time for lightweight parts and then load their pack up with a bunch of unnecessary shit... Don't stress on weight, its dumb.

    • @COMMIEFORNIARELOADED

      My stock grips did not feel good, and they would not torque correctly so they'd stay in place. Unless you can torque them properly, or if you have gorilla hands, they are trash. A $20 grip upgrade will serve most people well.

    Good honest review! I’ve had the same bike for a couple months and have been happy with it. So far replaced the stem with the same FUNN one you have, Deity riser bars, PNW loam dropper lever and cheapo Velmia seat from Amazon. Great bike for the price but if you can swing it and they’re in stock the T8 offers a lot for the money with Fox suspension, SLX drivetrain and I believe it has 4 piston front and rear. My buddy has one and it’s really nice but unfortunately was out of stock when I went to buy. Regardless the T7 has exceeded my expectations
