Then you have to wonder why every Land Rover owner has heard that gag? Look at any reliably survey and you’ll find the green oval at or near the bottom. I spent a couple of years in the Aussie outback in the 90’s. 95+% of vehicles were either Land Cruisers or Hi-Luxs. Anyone who showed up with a Disco or a Defender soon regretted it. Electrical issues mostly but on the whole just piss poor quality. Even that one eyed Anglophile Clarkson said he wouldn’t take one to the outback. The last decent Landy was the Series 3 and that was the best part of 50 years ago. People who know, mining companies NGOs shit, even ISIS use Toyotas coz Land Rovers are rubbish.

Here in Australia there are stacks of people who say publicly they hate Landrovers with a passion but privately love them, as their mates have Toyota Landcruiser, Nissan Patrol ,Isuzu most of which Ive have owned but Defender and series 3 for me ,I have so many people interested to check out the series 3 swb on our coastal drives its insane,as the "young and old" love the simplity of these beasts as apposed to the new highly complicated vehicles available today. Its great to see alot of young people ,males and females have found a new interest in these old Landys,Its fantastic and good on them!!!!
