Man I remember watching this back in 2012 when I was 7 coming back from school and seeing this finale was freaking awesome and all I have to say to all the haters they clearly have not watched this with their eyes open cus this was freaking amazing as a kid great video btw

It remains as one of my favorite seasons for what it does at the beginning and carries throughout the season. Lloyd fighting against the Ninjas in any manner really intrigued me to begin with. Kai making a promise to keep Lloyd safe following Garmedon's sacrifice, and vowing to maintain it even after Morro has possessed him. Morro being revealed as the first elemental master Wu ever taught was a cool reveal. The Ninja overpowered for a good portion of the season by Morro and his ghost allies was cool to see. The Intro theme is a banger. Wu's flaw with teaching Morro is similar to that of Master Shifu's flaw with teaching Tai Lung in Kung Fu Panda was a nice story detail that makes Wu a bit more human. Nia's path and character development in this season into becoming the Water Ninja was awesome with both her character and her slow evolution with her skills, and her progression to unlocking her true potential at the end of the season mirrors the progression of the main four ninja in Season 1 who had the same journies with their powers.

Genuinely my only issue with this season is them losing their powers. I understand why, it’s the only time they’ve given an explanation for why it happened let alone one that made sense (keep in mind that I haven’t seen past season 5 yet but I do plan to start Skybound tomorrow.), but by this point it’s happened both in season 2 and 3 and it’s felt like they’ve spent more time without their powers than with, even if that wasn’t true by the start of the season. But also in the context of the tournament of elements and there being other elemental masters it doesn’t make sense for their powers to rely on Lloyd.

“You knew I was the Green Ninja. You always knew. But when fate said otherwise, what did you do? WHAT DID YOU DO? NOTHING!” “You were not meant to be the Green Ninja! That was not my fault!” “Not your fault? Who filled my head with dreams? Who drove me to train until my bones cracked? WHO DENIED ME MY DESTINY?!”

I Bet My Life by Imagine Dragon fits Garmadon and Lloyd perfectly! I (Garmadon) know I took the path that You (Lloyd) would never want for me! You get what I’m saying?

Don’t forget Morros past! He was a poor, homeless, orphaned boy living all alone on the streets with no family and friends before Wu took him in. And Wu was like the only family/father figure that Morro ever knew! Morro and Garmadon are two people that deserve a second chance in life! Also, they share a personal connection with both Wu AND Lloyd!

I loved this and I totally agree with you on what you said about Morro's character arc

Morro's line, "You can only save those who want to be saved," reflects what Wu said when explaining Morro's origins in "Ghost Story," which was "I could not teach those who would not listen."

The more horror side of the ninjago series, the last season that I’ve enjoyed of the series when I was a child, and then just forgot the show even continued and existed…damn.

I got to say. I am still scared of possession 😂

Garmadon wanted everyone to feel how he felt, to see the world as he does. Garmadon didn’t want to be alone. He wanted a world where he didn’t have to separate himself from Lloyd just because he might become a good person. Garmadon preferred Lloyd being what he should be while he had the ability, rather than just going through with his plan to satisfy his own need to cure his loneliness. Lloyd, however, also didn’t want to be alone. His mother had left him, and his father, whom he loved, was evil and banished to another realm. He wanted desperately to be evil, to feel how Garmadon felt, to see the world the way his father did. He tried to make sure he didn’t disappoint his father, his only chance of escaping isolation. Then the Ninja found him, showed him conflicting morals, and made sure he wasn’t alone. Even still, his loneliness, so heavily tied to his father, poses a constant conflict. He still yearned to reclaim his father’s attention and to know that they could continue life together. He hesitates when given the chance to kill Garmadon and prevent the final battle. He calls out to his father, perhaps in a hopeless attempt to seek companionship during his fight with someone who rivaled TSM. He wants to help his father’s loneliness, but now has the strength and will to find another way-by removing the venom’s influence and making his father good, instead of Lloyd needing to be evil. Their story in S1-5 is so compelling. I love how complicated and emotional the dynamic between these two is. It was such a joy to see the dark lord and the savior actively not want to fight each other. Their connection is so special.

I always loved season 5

I personally think fan fictions with ships in them are completely fine because it’s just fans expressing their creativity. Except when people treat their ships like they are fan theories or that they are secretly canon and the creators of the show are hiding it for some reason, that’s when I get angry at people.

For me the show really peaked here. I had been watching the show since it's revival in 2014, thanks to the word of mouth from friends back in 2012 and 2013 who brought in the lego mini figures, picture books, and encyclopedias, raving on about how good it was. I had watched the first 4 seasons non stop before this one came out and throughout the summer of 2015 the only thing on my mind was Season 5 premiering on CN. The minute I heard that the next season would focus on ghosts, a former pupil of Wu's back for revenge and Lloyd going bad, I was hooked! The Lego sets got me even more hyped, with the dark neon contrast of the ghosts and the creepier atmosphere presented. Even though I kept watching the show after Possession (I stopped with Sons of Garmadon) I still believe Possession hasn't been topped (then again I haven't watched Ninjago consistently since Season 8. Don't worry I'm rewatching it as of right now and am loving it.

The only flaw with this season is the fact the No elemental powers plot line doesn’t really affect anything. If you take it out. All it does is just give the Ninja a fighting chance against morro. Also Why doesn’t Nya just spray morro with water and break his possession then. With an enough water It could have just broke Moro’s hold on Lloyd. Anyway My point is the no Elemental powers plot line is kinda eh for me. Aside from that. This season is pretty good but not my favourite. I still found enjoyment

Dude, Garmadon to this day remains my favorite Ninjago villain of all time. I love his story and his fall to darkness. Yet despite it all, he has no regrets because Lloyd wouldn’t exist. Also, fantastic use of the song “Monster”. Ironically I made a music video about it for Garmadon 😂

Ooh, this is a great idea for a series! I'd love to eventually see a Morro one, a Harumi one and Lloyd himself is pretty drenched in tragedy too. Omg, "that's just how the cookie crumbles," we just never get the chewy cookies with Ninjago do we. 😭

During march of the oni, I think the scene where Garmadon looks at the picture of himself and lloyd, I almost think it flips a switch in him.

I'm not gonna lie, this is actually one of my favorite peices of ninjago. Although I watched the video, I still can't seem to get wuy that stuff was wrong, the kist I would say is the "he's drifting off again" and them jot doing anything about it before it a bit weird. But kost everything else I thought was good! Like the openeing with the names was cool in ky opinion, and the hype of what their mission is I thought worked sinxe it had that ninjago sillyness to it. i think that part leaned more towards ttye writing of Hands of Tume, so I'm not saying it was a great joke, but I think it worked. One thing I noticed that you didn't put was saying that they were bad friends for forgetting Cole, but as statted by Morro, Yang made them forget, so it wasn't their fault
